We selected Redmon based on an excellent quote and great reviews from Angie's List. We were not disappointed. Installation was done quickly and the crew cleaned up and removed the old furnace. Redmon was able to get us a sizable rebate from Bryant due to an issue with our 20 year old Bryant furnace. They also filed all the paperwork for us to receive $350 in utility company rebates. We had a couple of issues with the new furnace but Redmon was back out quickly to handle and adjust. Extremely pleased with Redmon.

Super great, STELLAR! The 2-man crew (journeyman + apprentice) arrived slightly before scheduled, greeted me, and went immediately to work. Both men were very polite and industrious, working steadily until the work was complete. I was consulted on a possible change in furnace place (would save me some space), which I approved. Such a change meant the gas line was shut off at the meter rather than the valve by the furnace. When the valve was opened back up, the gas vented outside...didn't run to the furnace. I was immediately informed I'd need to call the gas company, which I did, because the regulator at the meter was stuck. A gas company worker was sent to the scene. It should be noted that this issue wasn't caused by any misdeed of the hvac crew .... just an old regulator. "It happens to old regulators," said the gas company worker. The 30 yr + regulator was replaced (at no cost to me). When the installation was complete, I was given the manuals for both the a/c unit and the furnace, then given a verbal rundown on how to maintain both machines. The air conditioning unit was tested - such a QUIET unit and fan on the furnace! Testing of the furnace had to wait a day since the gas crew wasn't done changing out the gas regulator when Redmon's workers were done. As promised, one of the Redmon installers came back the next day to perform a test firing of the furnace. I would give this company an A+ rating if I could. From my first contact with office staff, a prompt visit for an estimate by one of the owners, a short wait time for installation, and an impressive work crew, professionalism and politeness permeates the company. It would be ideal if all contractors were this good. I highly recommend Redmon Heating & Cooling.

We were buying our first home and found out that the 30 year furnace had a few issues? namely leaking carbon monoxide into the home.  Being first time home buyers we didn?t know where to go, let alone what to buy.  After quite some time debating and researching HVAC brands, we decided to go with Redmon.  Thanks to Angie?s List making that decision was even easier after reading all the reviews.
First off Redmon mainly handles and services the Bryant line of equipment.  Bryant is considered mid-range between Payne (cheap) and Carrier (expensive).  In order to even sell a Bryant, you have to adhere to their strict guidelines as well as be factory trained.  I worked with Jim out of the Holland office and he answered all my questions and offered me several options to choose from.  He was honest enough to explain the differences between newer and older equipment and what I could expect as far as life expectancy.  I ended up going with a 96% Efficiency Furnace with an add-on humidifier.
The crew came on time if not earlier than I expected.   The whole process took about 5 hours but that was with removing the old and refitting the new to the existing coil and ductwork.  They even critiqued themselves and redid a drain line they just setup to ensure it was up to their own personal standards.  After the installation I asked them several questions above and beyond the typical maintenance to which they were more than happy to answer.  They also took great care of keep the home clean as they were entering and existing.  They even left the area in the crawlspace cleaner!
Overall I would recommend Redmon to any of my friends and family in the area.  Quality work, prompt and professional.  I will be calling them back for my AC when I have the funds saved up!

New Year's Eve, getting ready for day's activities and company later on.  One of my kids noticed the furnace was blowing cold air in the morning.
Based upon my FIL's recommendation, I called Redmon mid-morning.  They said they could have a guy out to my house between 1-5.  I received a call about half an hour later from the company who said they are able to send a guy out within an hour.  I was floored.  Sure enough, the truck pulled up shortly after.
Turns out the flame sensor was dirty and just needed to be cleaned.  The standard diagnostic fee was $68 plus additional part $18.33 was all it cost me to get the furnace running smoothly again.
Very happy with the promptness, professionalism, and cost.

Furnace wasn't kicking on and heat was dropping rapidly.  Furnace would work if I flipped the switch on side of furnace but wouldn't run very long.  Redmon came out same day, within 2 hours of calling them.  The service man was very experienced and honest, and it didn't take him long to discover the problem and take care of it.  He called before arriving and was very professional and personable.  Very down to earth also.  I would definitely recommend this company and ask for Buck to be your service man!

Arrived on time, very friendly and careful with carrying equipment to the basement. It all seemed to go quite quickly and they cleaned up after themselves. Explained how everything worked as well as the maintenance. Everything works great and the price was reasonable.

We woke up on a cold December Sunday morning to no heat. Redmon sent out a service tech within 90 minutes and had the issue identified quickly... we needed to replace the 21 year old furnace. He gave us a quote for 2 different types of furnaces with no pressure either way. The price seemed fair, and considering the fact that we were now with no heat we went with it rather than trying to get in other quotes. They called at 7am Monday morning, and arrived within 25 minutes to begin the install and were on their way to the next job by 11am. We're more than thrilled with the super fast response by Redmon!

After 26 years of reliable use, our air conditioning system went down. We felt it was just a matter of time before the furnace would fail as well. So, we decided to replace both the furnace and air conditoner units at the same time, a very expensive proposition. We went about the process of selecting a contractor very carefully, taking bids from several companies that had good reputations, including the original equipment installer. We did a lot of comparison shopping, including reviewing some contractors from Angie's List referrals, and some from Grand Rapids Magazine (GRM) advertisements and GRM Design Home referrals. We have relied on both of those sources over the years. We were pleasantly surprised that nearly all the contractors we contacted were professional and knowledgeable. That made the final selction process very difficult. Bob, from Redmon, came to the house right at the appointed time. He listened carefully to our questions, concerns and list of wants and needs. One of our biggest concerns was the person who would do the actual installation job. That was very important to us, as we have heard horror stories about bad install jobs. Bob explained the similarities and differences of the Redmon products and those of the competition, including the various warranties. He discussed the backgrounds of their installers. He said if they got the job he would schedule the best installer for the job. The actual installation is probably the single most important factor in the success or failure of the whole process. We did not want a rookie! Bob carefully reviewed the current system before quoting anything, and made several observations and recommendations. He then took the information back to his office to prepare two options with total installation quotes for each of the options. Bob was even able to offer a manufacturer's rebate, which really helped us get the most efficient unitsat the best possible price, the best bang for our buck! We reviewed all the various options, and in the end, Redmon's professionalism, concerns, recommendations, practical solution options and total price won the job. The quoted price was exactly what we were invoiced and what we paid. There were no surprises! In fact, we did receive one rather pleasant surprise, an extra $50 over and above the manufacturer's $900 rebate that we were expecting. This was a very nice extra bonus! In addition, Redmon did all the paperwork required for all the various rebate filings. The installation went smoothly. The install team was right on time on the scheduled day. And when it was all completed, on the same day, the basement was just as clean, maybe even a bit cleaner, than before installation. We are very pleased that we selected Redmon for the job and would recommend this company to anyone seeking a high quality, professional and ethical heating and air conditioning contractor.

House was built in 1929. Based on other's recommendations, I originally asked for installation of a heat pump for a porch that had been closed in but not heated and cooled. They arrived ready to install the heat pump. But after inspecting the attic and prior duct placement, they determined the porch could be heated and cooled less expensively by installing new duct work. They took the heat pump back and and installed the new duct that same day.

Redmon's quote was delivered quickly and professionally via email. I was unsure of what unit size I needed but their estimate was right on with the other companies that I had requested quotes from and they provided enough detail to make me comfortable working with them. After accepting the quote via phone, they immediately ordered the unit and it was delivered very quickly and they were on-site for the install as soon as it came in which was extremely beneficial as the temps were dropping and my tenant did not have heat from the old unit. They went the extra mile on the installation by not only completely cleaning up after themselves but even went as far as making a trip to the local hardware store to purchase a part for the drop ceiling and cutting an existing ceiling tile to make the smaller intake vent professionally finished so I wouldn't have to make the adjustments to the ceiling tiles myself. They were courteous and professional when I stopped by at lunch and talked with them and they took the time to explain the functioning of the furnace and filter system so that the tenant could maintain it properly. Overall a very positive experience.

It went great. Crew arrived right on schedule and worked without me needing to be there for the duration. Only took a couple of hours and they were gone. Left no mess. Very courteous and professional. Enjoyed the experience.
Prior to having work done, received quotes from a number of area dealers. This was the best quote, and there were no pressure sales like I experienced from some of the other dealers (where the salesmen were working on commission). With Redmon, you are dealing with the owners of the business.
After approving the work to be done, it was scheduled and completed within several days.
