I’ve had Dave reupholster and coach, love seat, two antique chairs, and four kitchen chairs. All looked spectacular. The large furniture took 4 weeks and 3 weeks which was faster than I expected. I had no problem getting in touch with him, if he didn’t answer he was quick to return calls. His workmanship is top notch and he offers a massive selection of fabrics. He gets my highest recommendation!

This owner is VERY slow and absolutely terrible at responsiveness. He never would return phone calls, emails, whatever. He has no business hours, so if he has to attend his grandson's game he will just tell you so, and you are SOL. He is very unfriendly, and in the end we needed him to repair a piece in the back which was applied wrong, and of course, no surprise he never did call us back--we finally gave up and kept the chair as was!

In one word, TERRIBLE.
I requested: run the pattern of fabric vertically so I would have no seams on the inside back of the couch. no skirt, no tufting on the inside of the arms and back, one long cushion rather than two, 6 matching legs 5and quot; high and no casters, save the many buttons from the original couch.
I got: fabric run vertically and two seams on the back of the couch, a skirt, two cushions that really DONand quot;T fit, three 4and quot; legs with casters in front, and two large dowel legs without casters in the back that don't match the front ones, and no buttons saved. The only thing that was right was no tufting on the couch.
We dropped off the couch to the upholsterer and he estimated it would take three weeks.
After 7 weeks I called for a status and David answered quite rudely, and quot;I said I'd call you when it was doneand quot;.
After another 3 weeks, I called and he said rudely, and quot;Well it's taken apart and as I said before, I'll call you when it's doneand quot;. He finally delivered it 18 weeks from the date we delivered it to him.
I wrote him a check and gave it to him the night he delivered the couch, but after he left I inspected the couch, and decided I would stop payment on the check which I've done and left him a message letting him know. At this point I've not heard back from him.
So, I've found another upholsterer that is going to let me know what it will take to get the couch done the way I want it. I will have to purchase more fabric and hopefully I can get the same dye lot as it has been almost 6 months since I originally bought it.
Clearly I would NEVER recommend Heirloom Upholstery and David Lycklama.

THEY WERE GREAT AND MORE THAN PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE VERY GENEROUS. THEY DID MORE THAN WAS REQUIRED BY PROVIDING ME WITH LINED ARM COVERS WHICH I THOUGHT WAS EXCELLENT.
