HANCOCK CHIMNEY SERVICE
About us
All of our technicians are Certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America, and are technically trained, tested and experienced. We do not Sub out our jobs. We have set rates based on the job required, inspect for cause of damage and give estimates for repairs. We use a special camera designed to scan the interior of the flue liner to see possible hidden defects that could start a house fire or cause damage to the home.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our service at your home. Customer feedback is very important to us. Yours in Safety, Deanna Hancock, V.P. Hancock Chimney Service"
"Hello, I'm Deanna, one of the owners of Hancock Chimney Service. First, I would like to thank you for using our services and for complimenting both our front office manager and the installation crew. Your feedback allows us to praise those who are doing a great job and to make improvements where they are needed. I apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you had while visiting our office, as well as for the unexpected fees that were presented to you. We strive to make each service stress-free and concise, and in this case, you've shown us that we have some room for improvement. I'm happy that you could find what you were looking for at another business. Thank you again for choosing our company for your chimney needs. Yours in safety, Deanna Hancock"
"[Member Name Removed], Thank you for the high praise of our company's procedures in protecting your home and evaluating the condition of your chimney. Maintaining and protecting your home by making sure the chimney is watertight and that the chimney contains the products of combustion when venting heat, smoke and carbon monoxide is our highest priority. Yours in Safety, Deanna Hancock, V.P."
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry we were not able to just fix the chimney that had blown off your home and that the reason replacement was the only option for repair was not explained to you. We are limited to following codes and manufacturer's requirements, which are put in place for your safety. If parts are used that have not been tested and approved for that chimney or fireplace then there is a possibility of heat transfer and your home catching fire. All the liability falls on us and safety is our greatest concern. Yours in Safety, Deanna Hancock, V.P."
"[Member Name Removed], I'm sorry that you did not perceive the value of knowing exactly what condition the inside and outside of your chimney venting system is in or the value of our experienced and educated technicians opinion or repair recommendation. We do apply the inspection charge to any repairs we perform on your chimney which, if taken advantage of, makes the inspection free. If you have not had the repairs performed yet we would be happy to work for you again. Please let us know. Thank you for your consideration. Yours in Safety, Deanna Hancock, V.P."
I personally don't have experience to say whether their inspections are accurate, I will say that it DID look like the insides of the chimneys were indeed bad as far as black soot and large cracks. I also don't know if the price of the repairs is high or low, but I was a bit disappointed that it cost $200 and I can't use either chimney. I also don't know how much work goes into either repair they quoted me on so I can't comment on if that is a good price or not.
They also came back a few days later and did a rooftop inspection and quoted me for things like repairing the chimney top and covering it from rain etc getting inside. Which was another $400-500.
Overall though the workers seemed nice, honest, and respectful, and if I had choose to do more chimney business I will most likely contact them first.
After the job Earl explained everything and provided additional information (pamphlets) on my type of chimney as well as general fireplace safety.
Price was exactly as estimated from the folks in the office.
Will definitely use again and ask for Earl by name. Super professional, efficient, and friendly. Highly recommended.
They wrote us a quote, which we accepted, but didn't state we had to put down $500 for the custom cap that had to be built. I asked that they give us another quote with that added, and they got that right out. Once that was signed and returned, we were good to go. Was very happy with the outcome.
"[Member Name Removed], I'm sorry that you did not find any value in our thorough inspection and evaluation of your chimney system or in the information given as to what was needed to repair your chimney. I'm sure if the services estimated were itemized and compared apples to apples you would find that our costs are not out of line. We use quality materials, U.L. listed parts, follow manufacturer's recommendations, follow state & national codes and have excellent workmanship. Our repairs stand the test of time and are all warranteed. Sometimes these important standards equal have a higher value. Yours in Safety, Deanna Hancock, V.P."
