It went well. I wish I would have picked a different choice, I like both the backsplash and the countertop a lot I just don't think they make a great WOW when you see them together. We didn't shop around so I don't know if the price is good or not. They were easy to work with.

Fast - efficient. One small piece of corner edging missed during template making. Installer cut piece from scrap and installed, no return visit needed.
Response from Granite Transformations of Grand Rapids
"Thank you for trusting us with your kitchen upgrade project. We strive to make every project perfect every step of the way. I'm sorry to hear that we missed a detail at template but glad to hear that the installer was able to take care of it right away. I'm sure you will enjoy your Bianco Modena countertops for many years to come."

Awful. They told us the timing was going to be a couple of months, and it took a lot longer,
When the template work was done-he was late and then did it wrong, and then the owner had to come back and fix what he had setup as the template.
When the installers came, they were pleasant, but they were incompetent. They had to cut our appliance garage, and instead of stopping after it chipped, they continued with the cut and destroyed our cabinet face.
They left a chip in the edge of the new countertop...which is supposed to BRAND NEW. I shouldn't have to live with a chip in a $4000 product.
They also didn't cut the hole precisely for our faucet and my faucet now JUST barely hits the side sink.
Then when I asked someone to come and fix it, it took forever and now 6 months later, they replace the wood on my cabinets with a veneer, which is okay, they tried to fix the chip and it looks worse.
And NOW, the sink is separating from the countertop and we have a gap that water is getting into. I wonder how long it will take them to come and fix that.

Its absolutely beautiful. The template appointment was rescheduled by them once and the installation was changed by them twice and was one hour late but it was well worth it in the end.

It was wonderful. The owner came to our house once it was completed to check in on us. There was no mess involved. I am totally pleased with the finished product.
I would recommend them to anyone. They did a beautiful job.

I received an estimate for the work the week of February 15th. The sales person who came to my home stated the work would begin the following week and would take one week to complete. I had another estimates at the same time but went with this one because of the quick turn around time. My 30 year old daughter was present and heard the same time frame as me. After I signed the papers, I learned it would take a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks to order and get the new cabinets. When the cabinets finally came - several of them had been measured incorrectly and were too small. In some cases the indentations at the bottom of the cabinets for opening were on the top of some of the cabinet doors. Needless to say, several cabinets had to be reordered and my kitchen was incomplete for a few more weeks waiting for the reordered cabinets to come in. When the cabinets came in I was called for the installation. I took the day off work. When the worker arrived and opened the boxes, he learned that the wrong style had been ordered. This was a wasted day off for me and my kitchen would be incomplete for another couple of weeks. The cabinets finally came in and were installed early April. There was also a problem with the granite installation. The sales person offered to put granite behind my sink in my half-bath near the kitchen free of charge. He mapped out what it would look like. When the granite installer came, I told him and showed him how I wanted the granite to be installed behind this sink. He stated he understood. When the work was done, he has installed the granite per the original plan and how I showed him I wanted it to be. In a nutshell, the time frame promised at the beginning was inaccurate and the process to get the right cabinets was frustrating. There were no apologies for this. I even received an email after the work had been completed asking for feedback. I put all of this in my feedback and received an email stating I would be contacted but I never was. The kitchen looks nice - but I would not work with this company again.

They were contracted by another company. I didn't pay them, but the other company. They were very courteous. They did a good job in the kitchen; however, in the bathroom they cut it wholly wrong for the faucets. They did come back and fixed that at no cost. They used quartz countertops. They gave a good service and seemed to know what they were doing.

It went as advertised. They measured everything and did a pattern which they took back to the shop. It was two years ago so I can't remember how long it took but they brought the completed overlays at the time they said they would and installed them. The installation was very good, tight up to an existing backsplash. The seams between sections are minimal and so fine as to be almost invisable.
We choose this granite overlay method because our formica countertop was glued on and we risked probable damage to the cabinetry if removed. As this overlay is much thinner than regular granite countertop but costs pretty much the same, I would choose regular granite countertops if that option is available without too much hassle. For problematic replacement, Granite Transformations is a viable but relatively expensive option.

The sales person was very nice. They came out with in two days. They were very helpful in giving idea's which we really liked. The other thing we liked was that they gave a estimate at the same time. That was very helpful as we did not have to wait until later to get the estimate.
The one thing that we did not like was that they did not have a plumber to do the plumbing work.
We also thought the price was higher than most but is a good product.
We are looking to do our bathroom now Aug, 2011 and they have come out again, with the same professional service . I think it would be helpful from their point of view if they did offer the plumbing service .

I don't remember how much we spent. It is an easier process than actually replacing a countertop. We like it. It looks nice. We think they did a good job. They were very expensive for what we were getting.
Response from Granite Transformations of Grand Rapids
"I appreciate the postive comments and would like to note that on price, we are not the least expensive option. Our product is top notch in quality and we can't offer that quality for the lowest price. In the long run though, I do believe that our product will merit it's price when you consider it's ease of maintenance. Clean it with just soap and water and to make it even better, it NEVER needs sealing which means savings in time and money. I believe that when you consider all costs involved, Granite Transformations is a great deal. Greg DeWitt"

From start to finish, this was a wonderful process. I stopped into their showroom and was dazzled with their product. The salesman was here the following week with samples of all of their recycled granite and glass products, and explained the entire process to my (skeptical) husband. We were both sold on their entire idea, and ordered the countertops that day. Several weeks later, an installer came out to create the templates of my existing countertops, and less than three weeks later, the countertops were installed. All of the employees of this company were nice, responsive, prompt and very professional. The installation itself took the young man six hours, and when he was done we were stunned. It looks magnificent!

They were a little expensive however they installed a good countertop. I did think that they could have done a little better on the installation but overall I am pleased. They were nice to work with and responsive to any questions that I had.
