We are preparing to renovate our basement, and wanted a professional assessment before doing so, as we had some minor water intrusion several years ago. I called several companies specializing in whole basement systems, and they recommended Gold Star as a better option for my project. Steve showed up on time, assessed the problem areas, and recommended solutions without pushing for overkill. He had a quote to me the next day, and after getting a few more quotes, we decided to go with Gold Star, as it provided the most bang for our buck. Within a week of signing the paperwork, Gold Star was on site, and fixed everything in the course of one day, leaving no mess behind. All in all, a great experience.

This A review is very late, but so well deserved. I first contacted Steve 2 years ago with my first water leakage (there has been several more since then). Every time I phone him, he always responds right away. Most cases will give me an estimate on the spot. With the first job he did back in April of 2016, he not only dug down about 10' to repair a deep crack in the cement wall, but he also suggested to dig the trenches and lay down the perforated piping. I had some serious issues with poor drainage in my back yard! After a second visit, to lay down more piping, I can actually mow my lawn in the spring during the rainy season! I hate finding new leaks in my foundation but if I do, I at least know that I found a great person who is honest and trustworthy and that I can completely rely on.

Well. My only complaint is that they called to say they would be two hours earlier than originally discussed. The gentleman explained process in detail. I had others say they would need to do interior, but this man told me we could do from outside. Not only did he save me money, but time too!

Steve inspected the water leakage in my basement and diagnosed the problem immediately. He was helpful and as it was due to a plumbing issue and not waterproofing, I was not charged for the visit.

They came out the day I called and was very informative and a great value. We ended up going with another company as it was a toss up on who to hire and the other company could schedule it sooner.

We discovered leaks in a previous (26 year old) waterproofing job. Because we were having new floor installed the next week, we were in a time pinch. Steve made time to look at and fix the problem within a very short time frame. He also made sure to show me what he was doing, explaining how the waterproofing system works (something the original installer did not do), and exactly what he was doing to repair it. Very professional, yet friendly. Answered my questions, did his work in a timely fashion, cleaned up after.

The process went fairly well, the drains and sump pump work well and the area is much drier. They used poured concrete to fill the wall where the access to the well pit was and some of the concrete settled too much. We called and they came out within the week and fixed the issue. The basement is in much better condition, the new wall doesn't have any gaps where the old wall did. My husband is happy, he no longer has to pump and haul water out of the basement when we have a major rain! We would call again them again and recommend them to other people. The work was done in October and it is now June, we are please with the results that we saw through one winter and spring.

Steve and his helper were professional and very helpful. Steve gave us lots of tips to help prevent basement problems from occurring. He and his helper were quick, yet thorough. They were extremely nice and on time. I would definitely use Gold Star again.

Gold Star was incredible! It went so well. I had called another company. They couldn't come out for 2 weeks and they wanted 2 hours of my time. The other company even sent me a very slick booklet of the kind of VERY EXPENSIVE work they do. The two hours was for the salesman to convince me that I might be in dire need of expensive repairs. Steve of Gold Star came out immediately and let me know I did not need to make any changes. He did not charge me. He told me what I should look for in the future to ascertain if I might need some work done. Steve was fabulous. He knows his business. He is more than fair. He is about service. If you don't need the service, he will let you know. I will ALWAYS call Steve first if I ever think I have a basement problem.

After starting the job he decided that it was easier than he thought and he reduced his price by $50. He thought that the job would originally take 6 hours, but he was finished in 4 hours. When he finished, he showed me the work and explained what was happening and finally he should me that the problem was fixed. I really appreciate honest vendors that don't work up a price and stab you with unnecessary work.

Wow.... Steve was fantastic! I called him because I had water coming into my basement any time we experienced a hard rain. I had called one of his competitors previously who advised me that I had a crack in my foundation behind the drywall. He told me to remove the drywall and call him back for a repair estimate of $600. Steve had a very different method. Steve came out and walked around the house with me and listened to what I had to say about the water problem and what I've already tried to do about it. He told me that the foundation looked good but I was missing some caulk where the concrete steps meet the house. He showed me what caulk he uses and told me to pick some up, caulk around the step and pack some dirt in on the sides and I'd be good to go. The next day I tried this, waited a few days for the caulk to cure and went out with the garden hose. NO LEAKS! The best part is, Steve didn't charge me a dime. My neighbor then called him with a water issue he has. Steve came back out, spent some time with him and showed him how to fix it. FOR FREE!! I would not hesitate to call Gold Star if I ever got another drop of water in my basement, and would trust anything he tells me. Water in your basement?? BETTER CALL STEVE!

It went very well. He was a very nice guy. I was always pleased with his work. I would recommend them definitely. What I like about them was that they gave me a lower estimate.

I found Gold Star on bbb.org (because they had no recent history on Angie's List). They were very flexible setting up an apointment to come out for the free review and estimate. During the visit Steve was very knowledgable and evaluated our house thuroughly. I appreciate the fact that he was quick to tell me that from his review our house did not need extensive work. He did not try to sell me a solution that was thousands more than what I needed. He backed up this evaluation by showing me several factors about my crawl space that proved we only needed a simple clean up and plastic barrier applied. Other providers tried to sell me an "encapsulation system" that would have cost a fortune. I like Gold Star's professional honesty. Steve also pointed out some floor supports that were not adequate and he said he could replace them as well. The work was performed as promised and we are very happy with the results.

THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THEY GAVE US ADVICE ON HOW TO MAINTAIN THE LEAKS THAT WE HAVE IN OUR HOME. THEY GOT THE JOB DONE RIGHT AND ON TIME.

THEY DID THE WORK MUCH CHEAPER THAN ANY OTHER PLACE WOULD. THEY GAVE ME A LIFETIME WARRANTY. THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND HAD IT DONE IT A LOT LESS TIME THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE.
