Without question, Todd Wilde and his team at White Birch Builders are the best home builders in the Grand Rapids area. Hands down. I cannot recommend them highly enough - and I'm pretty particular! The biggest testament I can give is that I have personally recommended him to at least ten people, many of them friends. The second testament is that we’ve hired them twice. White Birch has now done two major jobs for us. Five years ago, they renovated the entire top floor of our walk out ranch . . . kitchen, master suite, deck, half bath, family room, fireplace and more. This June, they completely renovated our lower level. This entailed three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a workout area, laundry room and a family room. Both jobs took almost exactly 60 days. Let me repeat that . . . 60 days! In addition to his quality, access to top contractors, fairness and honesty, Todd's magic lies in his unmatched ability to create a detailed master schedule and hold dozens of people accountable to the schedule down to the day. For an OCD leaning gal like myself, it's a site to behold. To expand upon some of White Birch’s other strengths . . . - Honesty - In your dealings with White Birch, you will encounter no BS. Zero. If you have a question, you will get a fast, clear, honest response. No games, no drama. It has been such a gift for us to go through this process twice and to be able to trust our builder and all of this employees and contractors implicitly. - Quality - The quality is top notch. I was half joking when I've said we'd enter our tile guy into an Art Prize competition. And it was smart quality, on our budget. I wanted to spend more on stone tiles so we saved in areas like repainting the doors instead of buying new ones. Todd was really smart on working with us to save in certain areas to allow us maximize money in other ways (like tile and granite). Also, you should see our custom cabinets. They are stunning. - Customer Service - Todd and team operate with the customer in mind during every single interaction. It's Fortune 100 level, truly. Phone calls and texts returned promptly, any unexpected issues (inevitable in a remodel) immediately raised with solutions at the ready, every employee respectful, engaging and kind. - On Budget - There are no surprises when dealing with White Birch. Everything is transparent and up front with change orders down to the penny throughout the process. Todd is clear about his margin, why certain things cost more than others, etc. In fact, I had a separate budget sheet going throughout the remodel and when Todd's final invoice came, his was $10 less than my estimation! It's hard to put a price on that kind of peace of mind when you are making such a big investment. - The Team - Great guys, each and every one. Everyone takes true pride in their work, they are all incredibly professional and talented. What's really cool is that everyone operates with the same spirit of just doing the right thing. And as crazy as it is to do a remodel while you're living in the house, I'd hang out with Todd's team any day :) Before we found Todd five years ago, we almost went with another builder. It didn't feel right from the beginning. In retrospect, that builder was trying to force his vision on us and it would have been a disaster. Our experiences with Todd and his team are always a true collaboration where everyone walks away feeling good and happy with the end result. So, finally, I will end with this . . . I can absolutely guarantee that you will be happy if you hire White Birch. It's simply impossible not to be because their inherent business philosophy is to put their customers first and always do the right thing. You can't ask for more than that.
