Perfect. Very professional and cost was so much better than we had been quoted by another company. Attention to detail was incredible. He ended up going on quite a road trip just to find bricks that perfectly matched what we had.

Paid nothing for the inspection, and he said we were good to go! He pointed out a few things that could potentially give us issues in the future, but said we didn't need to worry about them now. LOVED him - would definitely use in the future.

Andrew is very professional, responded to our call within one hour and takes great pride in his work. His prices are in line with insurance company standards; $150 per foot on average. We would recommend Andrew.

Excellent. Andrew was very professional and the work was accomplished in just a few days. His ability to match the mortar color was uncanny. Can't tell the new from the existing. Not to mention that his cost was about half what I received from other brick/chimney people. Would definitely hire again.

I first spoke to the chimney specialist in the winter. The best way to contact this repairman is by texting him your information and he will get back to you. He is very busy, but that is because he does good work and is very honest on what actually needs to be done for chimney repairs. He came to my house in the winter gave me a verbal quote and told me to contact him in the spring for concrete work so concrete will cure properly.

I had some other joker chimney repairman out and he looked from the ground at the roof and stated it all needed to be rebricked from roof up for 2000.00 and it was a mess. 

I texted The chimney specialist back at the end of april, he called back and he gave me an approximate 2-3 weeks out timeline due to jobs he has lined up. He came out to the house, did the repairs, and the chimney is good to go. The price he quoted me in the winter did not change as he was good on his word.

Like I said very honest and well price chimney repairman compared to the other repairman I called out to quote. 

I do not know how this company is not listed #1 under chimney repair under angie's list. 

He arrived promptly and was charming. He didn't charge me for the visit!

I am very satisfied with this repair.  Andrew showed up on the same day I contacted him and he was able to recommend a permanent repair to my cracked chimney cap for far less than I expected.  When he was unable to acquire a pre-made chimney cap from his usual sources, he located one elsewhere so the work could be completed before winter when snow and ice would cause more damage.

It went great, the workers were there everyday for 2 weeks, always picked up after themselves, left my property in great shape.

Everyone involved went above and beyond....I had the old chimney repaired over 20 years ago and the person who repaired it threw the old bricks into the chimney crevices which had to be removed by the Chimney Specialist crew, this was additional work and disposal they were not planning on but took care of it all without complaint or additional charge.

Andrew did a great job of selecting a new brick to blend well with the brick on the front of my house as an exact match was impossible, he even salvaged some of the old brick for me to keep in the event that I'll need repair done to the front trim of my house in the future.

Andrew at the Chimney Specialist was awesome,. He took care of our chimney issues quickly before the spring rains and at 1/3 lower cost than the other guys quoted. The repair was very nicely done, so much that you don't notice a difference between the touched and untouched areas. If I hadn't seen the mortar pulled out, I would never have known it was repaired. The concrete cap looks nice, very professional and sturdy. The other guy said our damper was broken and needed to be replaced. Andrew noted it was installed backwards, and didn't need to be replaced.

Andrew was very professional and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what to do. He did it quickly and neatly. He arrived when he said he would. He was very careful to clean up and to safe guard the roof while he was working. I had three other chimney companies that either did not show up at all, showed up, but only after breaking an earlier appointment with no notice, or quoted twice the price. The only chimney person in Grand Rapids I would ever recommend is Andrew's company, The Chimney Specialist.

Andrew was professional, he answered my phone call and returned texts promptly. He let me know when he would be here and was on time. While B & B charged me $90 just to provide a quote, Andrew did not charge for the inspection. B & B wanted nearly $800 to fix the chimney but Andrew told me it didn't need the work done, not even a cleaning. I'm so pleased with his honesty and have used the fireplace many times already without trouble. Highly recommend.

Andrew did a great job. He is very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to chimney and chimney repair. I have and would again recommend him to friends. It took a day or two for him to call me back after my initial call but no problems getting a hold of him after that. You will save a LOT of money with The Chimney Specialist vs. that other popular company you see commercials for who quoted over 3 times as much for the same job.

We had tried to get several masons/chimney companies to work with us, very few responses and all wanted to wait until summer. Andrew came out the same day I called him, sized up the project and gave me a verbal estimate which he later provided by email. He started work when he said he would, even worked in rain and snow for part of one day, and had the job completed earlier than he predicted. His work looks excellent and he did everything he said he would do. I would use Andrew again without hesitation.

Performed repairs as scheduled, very neat. New chimney cap is very elegant.

Andrew first came over to inspect my chimney. My wife and I just bought a house in Heritage Hill and weren't sure of the chimney condition. He said everything looked to be in good shape, but that we should install some sort of damper. He let me know the associated costs of the two different options, and then gave me his recommendation (the cheaper option!).
Once we approved his work, he immediately let me know when he'd be available to install. He came to perform the installation the same day the flue top damper came in to his supplier.
As first time homeowners, he also gave us some great advice on how to care for our fireplace/chimney, and when to perform maintenance (chimney sweeping). Andrew is highly recommended!

Before I had any work done I looked on Angie's list to find Chimney repair. The Chimney Specialist had the most, and highest reviews, so I contacted them.
Andrew came to my house in April of this year. He is in Grand Rapids and I live near Kalamazoo. He got on the roof and examined the chimney and we discussed what had to be done to repair the chimney. Later that day he emailed a quote. In a couple of weeks I decided to have Andrew do the job. Between the wet spring, problems with his truck, and the distance he had to travel, he wasn't able to get to the job until august. I think if Andrew could have come earlier, he would have. Work went fast. In three days time he had removed the top eight rows of brick, replaced them and added a new cap. My house is about 30 years and I was concerned about finding brick that would match. Andrew was able to find some brick that closely matched the brick on the house. Andrew cleaned up every night. I didn't find any pieces of brick that he took off. I had my roof replaced shortly after the chimney repair. The guys that did the roof complemented the repair of the chimney. I think the cost was reasonable considering the distance he had to travel. If I had it to do all over again I would have Andrew do it.
