just now I had Polar Seal Windows installed in November 2019. In January 2019, I had my first leak and in February I had my second leak- water pouring in from the top. The installer came in put up a temporary fix of mounting a sheet of aluminum as an overhang. He’s not returning my phone calls or visits. When I emailed Polar Seal they it off and seemed unconcerned and unreliable. Even though the windows are not even six months old, they seem to say the temporary overhang was sufficient to stop the water from coming in the window, so that was the remedy. Obviously they’ve never heard of the legal term “fit for a particular purpose.” The legal world believes that when a consumer buys a product, the product needs to be fit for a particular purpose. When I bought these windows, I assumed that they were fit to keep water from coming into my house without an aluminum overhang. I’ve had multiple homes with multiple homes with multiple windows installed and I have never ever heard of anything so ridiculous. This is a crappy company that does not stand behind their product. Go Anywhere else- I wish did!!

I highly recommend this company - they are solid from top to bottom and do what they say they will do. They do not use high pressure sales tactics, which I really appreciated given experiences with other competitors in the industry. Their office is easy to work with, and so is their service manager and technicians. I've been working with Polar Seal for several years now, and they ended up installing all of the windows in my home, in addition to a couple sliding doors. In the rare instance where we've had a quality issue, their service techs visit right away and fix the problem - no questions asked. When the last batch of windows got installed we did end up with an unexpected order error which was partially my fault and partially theirs. I worked with Polar Seal's president to come up with a mutually agreeable solution and couldn't be happier with the end result. Seeing the company work through this with me, and avoiding something that could have easily gone the other way, made me an even bigger fan of this company. If you're looking for windows, I strongly suggest considering Polar Seal!

Workers were on time, and only took two days to do all 21 windows. Mary at the office was easy to work with and got the job from estimate to completion in under a month.

The whole process was very good. Salesman was great to work with, explained every detail to our satisfaction. Windows were installed in the time frame promised and they did a good job of installation. Not a big fan of the trim molding they used on the inside and mostly likely will change it out when I have time.

Great. No pressure on the sales side, and the installers were on time, completed the job in the proposed timeframe, and cleaned up everything as they went. Everything looks great and is sealed as tight as a drum. We couldn't be happier.

Outstanding. Could not be happier and will be using them again for the other 8 windows we will eventually need to update as well as our slider.

I spent time collecting several different bids. I did research taking into account that price was very important, but only one of my concerns. I decided to go with Polar Seal, even though they were not the least expensive. They put all new windows in a home built in 1905. I was concerned about the plaster walls, and the difficulty of replacing windows in a structure that, after 111 years standing, is less that perfectly square. I am so happy that I went with Polar Seal!
The salesperson was informed, patient, did not bad mouth other companies and returned my multiple calls. The installers were punctual and very professional. They were organized, efficient, and the end product is great! Polar Seal has installation crews that are part of the company, not contracted for a short-high traffic time. They displayed pride in their work and their company. I would highly recommend Polar Seal.

We looked at several window companies, we narrowed it down to 3; we had them come to our home for an in-depth interview (not sales...interview, because we were asking all the questions!) After checking multiple sources, we were impressed with the quality of the sliding glass door by Polar Seal. We contacted them to give them the go-ahead and they scheduled a date and time for someone to come out to take measurements. The wonderful thing about Polar Seal is they build your door/window to your exact dimensions. This is quite different from buying something from stock and having the installer fit it in with shims and foam. Another plus, is that these doors are made to your specifications, right here in Michigan! The installers came right on time on the date scheduled and before doing anything, they verified the measurements!. Once they were satisfied, they began removing the existing door. As a woman, I was particularly pleased as I watched one man cutting through the existing nails/screws/etc, while on the inside of the house, the other gentleman was holding the wand from a wet vac, sucking up all dust and particles from the removal, keeping my house clean!!! They took a great deal of time making sure everything was perfectly installed, and any little item was addressed immediately. When they were done, the work area was spotless. The door itself: The quality of this door is amazing. It's sturdy, strong, very well made. There's a double lock on the glass door, which is something I've never seen, and there's a safety "dead bolt" at the bottom left corner of the sliding door. This provides an unobtrusive second layer of security, which is well designed and easy to use. The frame of the slider is very sturdy; it's a heavier weight polymer vinyl that doesn't bend or move when you try to force it. For example, there are windows you see on display at stores, and the vinyl lip of the channel can be moved out if you push on it; not this. This is tough stuff, and along the bottom track are drainage holes so that water doesn't collect and damage the door. Our original door was wood, and it did not have the drain holes; there was rot because of that. The stationary window is very sturdy; the screen has a handle that has a special design. It isn't the typical plastic one piece screen handle. This design has you using two fingers to guide the screen in place. This keeps the screen from bending over time. The sliding glass door is sturdy, strong and very nice looking. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with every aspect of our interaction with Polar Seal. This company has been in business for over 50 years for good reason. In the next 2 years we're facing the replacement of our living room windows. These windows create the whole wall, plus windows on either end of that wall. So we're talking 10 feet high by 16 feet wide, plus the two side windows. It will not be easy or cheap, but it will be done perfectly, and Polar Seal is who we're calling first. I would strongly encourage everyone to take a good hard look at this company if you're looking at window or sliding glass door replacement. I'm thoroughly pleased with the product, the price, the amazing construction and the professional installation.

I got quotes from several companies. Polar Seal is the only one that did not bad mouth other windows/companies and did not pressure me to make a decision on the spot. They gave me a detailed quote and 30 days to think it over if I wanted. The installers were Polar Seal employees. Not sub-contractors. Three installers arrived on time and went to work. They worked for three and a half days to finish and did excellent work. The same installers came every day. Very professional and lots of attention to detail. They cleaned up after themselves and appeared to take pride in the install. The final price was exactly what I had been promised. No surprises. I would use them again and will recommend them to anyone.

We are very pleased with our new windows.
We visited the Grand Rapids Home Show 2015 looking for info on new windows and siding. One company refused to set up a estimate unless we could both be present. Been there, done that. Typically means a high-pressure sales situation. Eliminated them immediately.
Polar Seal rep. came out. Did the estimate. Explained the product very well and left the info for me to review with my husband.
Our installers Paul and his assistant arrived on time and worked efficiently to install all of out windows in one day. Cleaned up beautifully and hauled away all the debris. Paul was also able to point me in the right direction to have some smaller inside repairs done. Small jobs are hard to find people to do and I was grateful for his help.
I can only hope we have as good of an experience with our up coming siding project.
