NICOLA CONSTRUCTION CORP

It went poorly, start to finish.

They were good at sales, prompt and persistent at billing. Other than those areas they were poor at being a general contractor although they charge a high price for their services. Basically they have a subcontractor in each area who charge a competitively high price for their work, Nicola passes this on plus a hefty markup. The subcontractors then pretty much do things as they please with minimal control or proactive management by Nicola. A few of the subs are good, most are average to poor, so the work varies greatly. You wind up with some good work but many things undone or done poorly. Communication is very poor with workers often having no knowledge of prior discussions with Nicola. And Nicola often has little knowledge of what's going on at the jobsite. Once they are paid they ignore all promises and don't even respond to calls. Overall with Nicola you get a good sales job, pay a lot of money but get little value for it. Go find a general contractor who adds good value.

THE DOORS THEY PUT ON FELL OFF THE HINGES. THE INSULATION WAS NOT TIGHT, AND I HAVE MICE. THE WINDOWS LEAK AND ARE CRACKED. THEY DID A HORRIBLE JOB, AND I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

THEIR SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THEY HAVE VERY NICE PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE HAVING THEM IN MY HOME. THEY CLEANED UP EVERYTHING THEMSELVES SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO.

THEY DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB. THE NEXT TIME IT RAINED, THE ROOF LEAKED RIGHT THROUGH. EVEN THOUGH THEY DID COME BACK TO FIX IT I STILL WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE WORK EFFORT THAT THEY HAD.

I LIKE THE WAY MY WINDOWS LOOK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS. THE SHOWED ME NICE LOOKING WINDOWS, SO I BOUGHT THEM FROM THE COMPANY AS WELL. I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY 30 WINDOWS SINCE.
