J & S SIDING INC

-Strike 1:  They sent a sub-contracted crew out who did not know how to install Hardi-Board siding.  This crew was installing siding upside down, walking on the boards, not caulking joints or using the required flashing.  Then they cursed out my office manager when she called them on this lack of professionalism/competence. 
-Strike 2:  They sent another crew who completed most of the installation.  They still left numerous details not completed including trim around electrical penetrations (lights, outlets etc) and caulk in several places.  They left no usable remnants for repairs and billed us for materials that their initial crew had ruined!
-Strike 3:  The GC never paid J&S Siding for the work because he had embezzled the money.  J&S filed a lien 6 months after they completed work.  MI law gives contractors 90 days to file a lien.  J&S purjored themselves on the lien documents stating that they had provided work after the final furnishing of materials.  Their fraudulent completion date was even past the date the township had given our occupancy and completion permit!  They have forged documents and blatantly lied.  Finally I had to settle with them because I could not afford the legal bills; paying twice for the same work (which two year later is rotting off the building and will have to be replaced).  
 Steve Hunderman and J&S Siding is not honest.  It certainly appears that Joe and Steve are crooks.  Other contractors have told me that he has done this before and that they have fixed problems he has left behind.  I am so sorry these criminals have come into my life.  DO NOT WORK WITH THEM!!  YOU WILL BE SORRY!!
