The repaired iPad was ready when I arrived (at the agreed-upon time the next day). The repair looks perfect. Comparing it with a family member's iPad I cannot see any differences in the appearance of the screen, its fit, or the assembly of the iPad. The repair is guaranteed for 90 days. I am completely satisfied.
The staff did work at upselling (cases and screen protectors). I wound up purchasing a "tempered glass" screen protector ($30) that supposedly provides extra protection for screen cracking (as well as scratching). I'm a little skeptical about its ability to help prevent cracks. I've read contradictory reports about these claims online, and I found the naysayers more credible. However, it seems like it will provide excellent protection from scratches if it does nothing else. It is thicker than most protectors but is virtually undetectable when they apply it. I usually avoid screen protectors because they change the feel of the screen. This one, however, feels exactly the same as the bare screen.
