"At Everett's we listen to our customers and try to give them what they've dreamed of or imagined for their landscape. However, if we are not given a budget to work with, our creative juices start flowing to give the customer that they truly want. Sometimes what is wanted is not within the budget. In this case, the budget was given to us after the initial quote was given. We then talked with the customer and were able to bring the cost down to within the customer's budget however he decided not to go with us."
"The customer called asking for a fall cleanup. Our office gave an hourly rate of $52 per hour/ per man. We do not give set pricing over the phone for fall cleanups because the cost depends more on what trees and obstacles are in the yard than lawn size. We received no call from the customer objecting to the invoice or time spent, etc. After several attempts to contact the customer regarding their past due balance (3 months after the work was completed) it was then that the customer came to our office to make us aware that they felt the bill was inaccurate. As a good will offering we credited the customer's account $50 and collected payment on the remaining balance."

"We are very sorry that [member name removed] was dissatisfied. His initial request came to us on July 22, 2013. A meeting was set for July 25, 2013 to meet [member name removed] at his home. [member name removed] did not show, but the person at home authorized our estimator the opportunity to walk the yard to look at the beds. What we found was a very invasive weed that is almost impossible to eliminate without destroying all landscaping around it. Hand pulling would be necessary to save the existing landscape plants, thus elevating the cost. Even upon removal, this weed would return if not vigilantly maintained. Attempts were made to call [member name removed], but were unsuccessful. On August 8, 2013 [member name removed] called our office to inquire. Our estimator returned his call that day and explained the situation. During that conversation [member name removed] ended the call abruptly asking if he could call back in 10 minutes but did not call again. We did not get the opportunity to perform any services for [member name removed]. Our company prides itself on excellent customer service and workmanship. We regret any ill feelings that this situation may have caused [member name removed]."
I mentioned to the guys that were doing the work, that I had told Brent that I wanted to do the complete island in front of our house including the part that is on the other side of the property line because if I didn't the area that wasn't resodded, any weeds that were there, would invade the new sod. Besides the fact that it was a small portion anyway. He didn't relay this information to the guys.
Brent had given me an estimate for 2500 sq ft of sod. I don't know if it was because of the missed information mentioned above or if he under estimated (even though he took measurements when we intially spoke). Some how they didn't have enough sod to finish the job. I was told to water what I had and they would be back on Monday morning to lay the rest of the sod. That night it poured buckets of rain. I thought that my sod would be floating down the street. It survived. However, the area that didn't have sod wasn't so fortunate. A good part of the dirt had been washed away. I figured that with the dirt on the sod that they still need to install, that it wouldn't be that big of a deal. After they layed the sod, I really didn't notice that much of a difference in the that area. However, that area had a serious problem with yellow nutsedge and now that it has been a few months and the grass has taken I can definitely see a slope where the last pieces of sod were laid.
"We really appreciated being able to work with (Member name removed) and hope she is pleased with our work for years to come. It sounds like the details we were aware of were addressed and follow through was done to (Member name removed) satisfaction. Being in the landscape business means we unfortunately have no control over the weather conditions and need to work accordingly - just the nature of our work. The area in question appeared to look good when the sod was placed and looked acceptable to (Member name removed) as well when completed. We rely on customers to contact us if an issue arises after the work is completed so that we can correct any problems they may see. We have no record of (Member name removed) calling to let us know that she noticed the settling. Excellent customer service and workmanship is something we strive for in every job we perform. We appreciate the opportunity to work through this with (Member name removed)."
