"Jane, thank you for taking the time to review us on Angie's List."
Cascade Hospital for Animals has been my primary veterinary hospital for my 2 cats since 1995. The staff is always friendly and professional. The veterinarians always discuss any treatment options with me prior to administering them. The location is always clean and the staff is always friendly.
"[removed member name], thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience with us on Angie's List. We work really hard to provide the best care for your pets, and we are glad to see those efforts pay off on your last visit. I will make sure to pass along your kind words to our staff as it will help to make their day too!"
"[member name removed], thank you for the wonderful review from your recent visit with us. We appreciate you taking the time to write us a review, and share it with the Angie's List community."
"[member name removed], Thank you for your comments on your visit with us. Let me first apologize for us taking Sage out of the room without first receiving your permission to do so. We typically will take pets out of the room, as they do better away from their owners. However if you, or any other client would rather have us perform the services in the room, we are happy to do that as well. You also mentioned some concerns with the bordetella vaccine. The bordetella vaccine is a lifestyle vaccine, so if Sage is groomed, boarded or attends daycare or a dog park, we would recommend the vaccine be given every six months. I reviewed the lifestyle question you answered, and Sage does not participate in any of those, so an annual vaccine is appropriate. I understand that the summary report you were given does mention 6 month shot, and that is a clerical error. Our reminder system has it listed as an annual, and there is no need to have the vaccine be given every six months unless there is a change in the lifestyle. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to give us a call. Thank you for bringing Sage in to see us. We look forward to our relationship in helping you give Sage a long and happy life."
That second experience was not as positive. About a month after my first visit I had saved up enough money so I could have the next animal looked at. My appointment was scheduled for a clinic that I cannot get to (I am unable to drive any distances) however I did not know that. So I showed up at Breton Village to find out that I was not expected there. To their credit, they worked me in to the schedule (not that there was anyone there). I saw Dr. Pawlowsky. However it wasn't for at least thirty minutes. Then the vet tech got a little snooty at me about my dog's weight and vaccinations (I knew about the weight and the cause and was rectifying it, and I knew about the vaccinations and was not doing one because of my pet's lifestyle). Then the vet tech got even more disapproving that I hadn't brought in a stool sample when I had not been instructed to do so and wasn't there to get a fecal exam. In addition, I have two dogs and physical disabilities that prevent me from following my dogs around the yard waiting for them to poop. When I finally saw the vet, 45 minutes later, he was brusque with me. He felt my dog's lump and then led my dog away to get a sample. He came back in with my VERY relieved dog and held up a syringe filled with a yellowish opaque liquid and asked me if I knew what it was. It looked like pus and I said so. He pounced on my lack of knowledge and said "No, it's cystic fluid!" in a tone that was very superior. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, so my knowledge of the various liquids the body produces is limited. He claimed he aspirated the cyst but it was still mostly there. But he also billed me for it. One half a syringe full is not a full aspiration in my book. I will NOT be seeing this vet again.
If you had asked me if I would recommend this vet after my first experience, I would say yes, wholeheartedly. Now, I would give a conditional yes. I have two more animals, they have two more chances. The schedulers need to do a better job of asking/ascertaining which clinic people want to go to and if a customer has a certain preference due to distance or other needs. I will NEVER see Dr. Pawlowsky again or his vet tech and would counsel any people looking into Cascade Hospital for Animals and Breton Village Clinic to avoid him at all costs.
"Customer, I apologize that in your most recent visit with us, that we did not fulfill your expectations. I have brought your concerns up to the individuals that you mentioned, and they feel terrible over how you felt your appointment went. We hope to use this as a learning experience for us, as we value the relationships we have with our clients and their pets. We strive to provide an environment where we work with our clients to educate and inform them on caring for their pet(s), not to belittle them or make them feel uncomfortable. I hope that this was just an isolated incident and we can continue to meet the needs of our clients to the level that they expect. Thank you for your feedback, we take it seriously and will do everything we can to make your future encounters with us a more enjoyable experience. Paul – Hospital Manager"
