I had an issue with the ground on my house with a close call on a fire. Luckily, someone was home and able to shutoff the power to the house and prevent a fire from fully happening. I had AVR Electric come out as a result of the home warranty company booking, which meant I did not have a choice in the contractor. This always puts me on edge, but I realized quickly that I was lucky in this case! They were able to explain what and why things happened with the ground and what they'd do to fix it under the warranty. I also asked for a quote to switch around the wiring to lights in my garage that didn't make sense and add a light at the top of my basement stairs. They quoted the work and I was surprised at how low the price would be on that. They also explained some issues with arc'ing and since I have an older home with mostly old wiring I had them test the breaker to find out which circuits were at risk. Given that it would be really expensive to replace all the breakers with ARC fault ones, they offered to do that free of charge and found 2 circuits to have faults on them. I had them install ARC fault detectors for the 2 in question and do the fix for the ground and then they sent over their fastest/best electrician to accomodate the additional work that I had quoted. I figured I'd have to wait on all that since this was an emergency call, but they did it all in one day. The electrician also found in the course of adding the light that when he was in one of the junction boxes that the load wire was done with the ground colored wire. Dangerous! He fixed that too. They kept everything at the quoted cost and handled the warranty work directly with the home warranty company. The price was amazing and their work was as well. I was and still am very satisfied with the work done by AVR and wouldn't hesitate to give them the highest of recommendations to anyone. They provide you with the education to learn about what is going on and save you money where they can on anything that is not necessary, while still providing you what you need to keep your home safe. Great people!

The technician checked the main breaker box and all outlets and couldn't find anything that looked suspicious. So he tightened the wires on each outlet and wall switch which fixed the problem.
