Fast and amazing. They are awesome to work with. We didn’t know how old our roof was, but knew it was getting close to having to be replaced so when they came knocking on our door we set an appointment. Doug who came out was able to pinpoint the estimated age of our roof based on walking our roof and peeking in our attic. His presentation of the company and products was very personable. He is not the stuffy “you have to buy this and this alone” type of salesmen. Very down to earth and makes sure you understand what it is you are buying and why. He told us the roof would be on within three weeks, and Adam called us in two to start. The day Juan and his crew arrived they were constantly moving. My husband and I were in and out of the house throughout the day and watched their progress. Everytime we saw the crew the guys would smile and go right back to working. The finished roof was completed in less than half a day and looks great. Really good company to work with.

valon removed and rebuilt our deck. Billy, who issued our quote, was lovely to work with: respectful of time, our wishes and ideas for the new build, and full of good insight on ways to make the project attractive and safe. We did not feel pressured in the least, and everyone in the quote and coordination stage were incredibly professional. When it came time to do the actual work, the demo and construction was done by Kuba. Kuba is respectful, timely, a good communicator, and does really quality work. You would be hard pressed to find someone who outworks him. Everyone at Avalon is great, but Kuba really won all our future business with Avalon. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed. The work is lovely and feels very strong. A deck that used to scare me is now my favorite place to be! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work from trustworthy people.

When looking for a quality contractor to repair your roof you are bound to run into a lot of different salespeople. Avalon was one of three contractors I requested bids from. I won’t disrespect the other companies that came to my home, but if you are lucky enough to get Dan Wright as your sales person - sign the contract. He is not only a knowledgeable salesman, but a wonderful human being. He doesn’t try to strong arm you, doesn’t pressure you into making an answer, and really doesn’t come off that he “has the job” until you tell him he has the job. He truly wants to help you make an educated decision on what is best for you and your home. Everything he told me would happen was delivered by his company. The crew were great. My roof was installed quickly and professionally. I didn’t really find that much debris left over once the job was done. All my leaks are gone. I am completely ecstatic with the outcome and appreciate that Dan kept in contact with me throughout the project and followed up with me after the roof was on. Highly recommend him.

Easy to recommend them as they tore my old roof off, laid down all new OSB, and replaced my shingles while I was out of town and the finished product looks this good. I am glad I listened to the color suggestion that Randy gave me. The charcoal color really makes the brick on my home pop. Thanks Avalon.

1. I had to fight to have the job completed. 2. The flat roof section was not sealed properly and leaked. 3. Black tar sealant was spilled on white trim and siding (cannot be removed). 4. Roof around chimney leaked and repair did not fix. Roof is presently leaking and Avalon will not respond to my complaint.

As all homeowner's roofs are unique, your roof has both asphalt and flat roofing materials. Our original contract was drawn up to reflect completion of a roof replacement to your asphalt roof with no mention of the flat roof. An addendum was later signed to reflect your wish to add the flat roof portion. With your winter inquiry, we were able to quickly complete the asphalt portion of your roof in December, but due to the cold weather had to wait for higher temperatures to complete your porch flat roof section. As you have since made a claim with our insurance we are unable to correct or repair anything until an agreed upon amount has been settled."

Terrible. We were told 2-4 weeks, its now been a few days shy of 2 months and still the job is not done. After repeatedly calling and given lots of excuses and told someone would call us back, which no one ever did! I finally called today and the lady I talked to was instantly combative and rude to me. She accused me of yelling, I wasn't yelling, but I was talking firmly. I mean what a joke they cashed our $100 check 2 days after we gave it to them and here its almost 2 months later and she acts like I'm out of line to call and be firm. My husband has called them many times to get this job done, my call wasn't out of the blue!

Very happy I gave them a call. After having a bad experience with a different roofer on a rental property I was leery of who I Could trust. The gentlemen they sent out to inspect my leaking barn roof was very professional and respectful. The price was good, even with replacing all the rotted wood underneath the old shingles. I had to wait about a month for them to start the roof, but when they did they showed up on time, worked hard all day, and did a very nice job with the roof and clean up. I would recommend them to anyone that asks.

We enjoyed working with them. They treated us with respect which I expected as I knew of them from my own custom door business. They were higher on price than a smaller outfitted crew, but their crew was better equipped and more experienced. The lower priced company couldn't get to my roof for months, whereas Avalon's crew got to it in weeks and was able to finish the roof in a day. Not having my yard a mess with a drawn out construction project was worth the extra money spent. They did a great job. My new roof really spruced up the house. Should we need more work done in the future we know who we will be calling. Thanks guys for the great work.

No stress. No mess. We had other projects happening as we are renovating our home and they were very easy contractors to work with. Our roof looks amazing. From start to finish everything was positive with these guys. Searching for a roofing contractor that is local and willing to get to you in a timely manner can be challenging. I saw their advertisement in the phone book and called. While a majority of their sales guys work out of Grand Rapids they do have a Lansing office which proved to be local. Within 48 hours they had Mike out to inspect my roof. He was a personable young man who didn't pressure me into buying. He simply told me what was wrong and how he could fix it - with pictures of previous jobs they had completed I might add. The price was lower than other estimates I had already received, so when he gave me an estimated time on how long the roof would take the crew to complete based on the size of my home I was sold. I really appreciated the fact that Avalon gave me time to decide how I wanted to pay for it and the option to cancel within 3 days. The day the crew arrived early morning with about 8 to 9 guys, and before you know it they are on the roof and moving along. They even moved my potted plants, lawn furniture and covered my deck. Watching them work reminded me of synchronized swimmers as they each knew what their job was to do. Very quick and efficient. I ended up having to leave to run errands mid day so I spoke to the project manager, he told me they would be done in about an hour and would make sure everything was where it was when they arrived. When I came back home it was like whoa - the roof is done! Everything was put back where it was like the project manager told me it would be. I only found one nail. One nail! What these guys tell you will happen they make happen.

My roof needed to be done and it needed to be done quickly as I had a leak. Avalon was the first one in the door. Eric who gave me the inspection was great. He gave me an education on how a roof actually breathes and the importance as to why. I wanted to do just a repair to stop the leak which he told me they would do, but he ended up recommending a whole roof replacement due to the shape of the rest of my roof. I wanted it done right, and what he showed me of their process I knew it would be so I agreed. They called me shortly after signing with Eric and a crew of ten arrived the next day. They were here right at 7 like they told me they would be. First thing they did was ask if we had everything we needed out of the garage so they didn’t end up blocking us in with tarps or boards they put up against the house. Then they went right to work. They worked efficiently and were organized. I was here for the first four hours as they worked and they were outstanding. I ended up leaving for work and my wife called me later around 5 to tell me they were done and running a magnetic around the yard. I was amazed it got done in one day. I am very impressed that they got right after it. Absolutely fantastic.

Would never hire this company for anything. Damage to roof, has not come back to repair for over two months. Did not do the work that was promised. The workers were the most disrespectful men that could ever have been hired. There are ruts and gouges in my yard still, no cleaning was done. Old shingles and nails all over. Glass still laying where they broke the window from our back room which no one felt they needed to say they broke. Only reason I knew is by finding glass in my washing machine when beginning weekly laundry. Being a single, elderly, and disabled woman is a disgraceful reason to take advantage of someone. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I’ll save you the trouble of doing the homework and tell you to invite them out. While they were not the cheapest of the 14 companies I had out, they provided me a good price for the shingle and smart vent they put on my home. The roof looks great. Seriously give them a call.

No complaints. The sales guy who came out to give me the quote was pleasant. He made it smile and easy. My new roof looks great. The crew started at sevenish in the morning and finished about seven hours later. Didn’t even have to finalize my finance paperwork till completion.

We spent over $40,000 with this company and got the attention of someone asking to have their gutters cleaned. Absolutely horrible follow through. Managers talk a good game throughout and would say that the project is important but there is never any follow through. Lack of communication between project managers and contractors. This often put the contractors in a bad position with the home owner by not being clear on what needs to be done and not having the right materials for them to do their job well. Sales people are suggesting things that contractors from their own company say should absolutely not be used in that instance. Even after the general manager found out that the project had been completely miss managed and not finished, there was still no improvement in efficiency of follow through. I had to take 6 days off to be the project manager and hound the company to get people out to finish what was started. A portion of the roof was installed incorrectly causing a leak when it would rain. The project manager new of the leak and didn’t send anyone out to fix it until the general manager found out it had been over a month and a half since the project manager new about the leak. Even after that it still took a week and a half to fix even after being told by the general manager. After all this headache and frustration the compensation for such a horrible experience was $300.00. That’s less than 3/4 of 1% discount of the project cost.

Call them. Ask for David Strotheide. He is a problem solver. I run mutiple properties and when gathering bids for one of the properties to pitch my bosses he worked with me providing extra educational materials to present to them about the roofing products Avalon uses. Most other companies just give me an estimate. He walked me through what to expect once the bid was accepted. However they surpassed my expectations. The installers were so polite and so neat. They took their time to complete the job and cleaned up well. We have dogs who go outside so I have been looking for any left over materials and have not found a single nail. The crew finished on a Saturday, and as I taking some pictures of my new roof to show off David calls me to ask how I like it. That follow up was amazing. They had just left and here he is calling to make sure I’m happy. Very impressed with his customer service and the new roof.

I didn’t shop around for anyone else after I watched the whole process on my neighbors roof. I walked over there and talked to the guys. They were personable. I saw enough of their work and how they handled themselves to convince me these guys knew what they were doing. I called Avalon to have them come out and give me a price. I have worked sales so I know how to read people. Jesus was very honest and caring. He was not over polished or performing. What you saw with him is what you got. He explained areas of concern on my roof and presented me different options at different price points. I decided what was best for me without any pressure. I requested the same crew my neighbors had and they delivered. Juan’s crew was great. They have a great work ethic and thoroughly tackled my roof. I found a few nails walking around, but that is nothing when they nail each shingle down with six nails. Jesus has kept in contact with me throughout the whole thing. If I had a question he would answer it, or call me back with the answer. He’s a good guy. Easy to recommend him and Juan.

They were one of five companies I was looking to get a quote from. I knew I wanted a contractor that was local and easy to get in touch with. I hadn't called to make an appointment, but when I saw Avalon's truck drive by my neighborhood I flagged down the driver. I asked the driver about how the company handled themselves and he informed me about the company as a whole. He didn't try to sell me a product, but gave me honest information about how Avalon does business. As he wasn't a salesman he scheduled an appointment for a full roofing inspection. Terry, who was sent to inspect my roof, was smiling when he knocked on the door. He was friendly and got to know my wife and I before starting his inspection. His presentation was excellent. I had done my research on roofing and knew what I wanted in regards to underlayment and shingles. Terry didn't skip a beat with my own knowledge. He still took his time with us to make sure everything was understood. He explained how the crew was trained by GAF and the entire process of how my roof would be installed. He had some shingle color options for my wife and I to see, but we weren't sold on any of them. He mentioned that we could go directly to Avalon's supplier. They had a showroom to see larger samples and informed us that upon selection he would have a final price. He was willing to be patient and work with us to get exactly what we wanted. Upon finding the perfect color we got our price. We ended up adding gutters to the project as well. I negotiated a little bit and ended up signing the contract. Within days I received a call from Avalon saying they wanted to install the roof. The roofing crew was fantastic! Every member was friendly. A few did not speak English, but that didn't matter. They did a great job. Everything they did they did without me questioning. It all made sense because Terry told me how it would go during his presentation. You could tell the crew has done numerous roofs based on how they worked together. Our gutters took longer to get installed. Our roof was completed within nine days of signing the contract, where as our gutters took an additional two weeks to complete. The gutters were professionally hung, but without a professional attitude. Perhaps the installer was having a bad day, but he was not as friendly as the roofing crew. Overall, I would give Avalon a 95%. Most everyone I spoke too was warm and friendly. They do superb work. My roof looks great!

Happy with the quality. They were cheaper than Anderson for windows, but higher than other companies for doors. We had some hiccups along the way, but I felt there were a lot of people there to get it done. I feel like that might have been half the reason why there were troubles in the first place. They had two project managers come out to give me the quote, a different guy to measure where the windows would be installed, the insulation crew, and then Brent and Shawn to install my windows and doors. It would have been nice to have just one person to deal with. If you have windows installed, Brent is very good at what he does. He is very careful and meticulous. Both guys made sure to get it right.
