Avalon Roofing and Exteriors has 30 + years of experience in the Home Improvement Industry serving West Michigan homeowners. We are excited to offer a wide array of products and services for your home improvement needs. We offer extensive financing options to help you make your home improvement project a reality. We employ a team of experienced experts, both subcontractors and employees, to ensure your home improvement project is completed to the highest standards. We actively engage with our Industry Partners (Manufacturers and Suppliers) to bring you the most update products and installation techniques. We stand behind the home improvement services we provide. We are fully licensed and insured and employee a full time Quality Control staff who are on-site often throughout any project. We extend a 5 year base workmanship warranty on all services and offer many extended warranties on specific products.

I received three estimates for a new roof and Avalon’s was only $200 more than the lowest (and $2,000 less than the other). The thing that impressed me most about Avalon was their price was firm. All the other quotes left loopholes to take the project up if the crew found anything out of the ordinary such as wood that may need to be replaced or additional disposal fees. It turned out that my house had three shingle layers (it was grandfathered in from the two layer limit law that passed in the early 1970’s). They took the time to add ridge venting and removed the old, inefficient pot vents on the roof, making my second floor much cooler in the summer. In spite of there being much more to tear off and dispose of, the quote never changed. Rick was professional and his crew arrived on time and finished the job in two days.

Started off great they were very quick to get to my house and get my business, but then were unwilling to find a way to itemize the statement so they could get the job done.
Description of Work: Needed an estimate for repairs on damage from a company. The companies insurance required an itemized estimate in order to cut me a check for repairs....This place would not itemize an estimate, twice they told me they could not itemize it. So I have to now after 2 weeks of back and forth, search for someone who can itemize an estimate.

I very much apologize if we did not follow thru correctly with a detailed enough estimate for your insurance company. Often we struggle to provide insurance carriers with the exact format and information that they want. We have also found that every insurance company is different and what may be satisfactory for one will not be for another. If we know what the carrier is actually looking for we usually do not have any difficulty preparing an estimate with enough detail to satisfy the insurance carrier's requirements. I am sorry we were not able to get an estimate that your insurance company was happy with, especially since we are always looking for good customers like yourself. If you have other work you need done, we would be happy to talk to you.

They gave me the best quote of all the providers I checked. Their estimated price of $5400 was for a lifetime warranty, labor and materials. I have a very old house. My experience with them was real nice. He was polite and on time and explained everything in detail. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Contractor was at the GR home and garden show - he came out for estimate on new roof for house - quoted 3 prices - 30 year, 50 year and metal roof. Metal roof pricing turned out to be approximately 35 thousand more than other bids we have received and almost twice as much for conventional roof. Felt as though he had to have committment that day for job quote. I asked him to send me a hard copy estimate and still waiting for them - don't expect I will hear anything from them - high pressure and a little sloppy - just there to sell a roof and not the service capabilities of their company - Definitely will never call them again

I am very sorry we were not able to obtain the roofing job we quoted for your home. As you stated, we did quote three different types of product, two of them asphalt shingles of varying grades and also a metal roof. This is all information you requested and we were happy to provide. I am not sure why our price was considerably higher on the metal roofing. What I can tell you is that there are a lot of different grades of metal roofing. Metal roofing that is of lower grade will dent, not hold color, chip and peel, etc. It is our company's perspective that we would prefer to have a higher price and not get the job than put a low quality metal roof on and have our customers unhappy with the product in a few years. The metal roofing that we quote is high quality material that we are comfortable with and can stand behind. I am not sure on the confusion on the hard copy estimate. We typically provide a hard copy estimate right at the time we provide you with a quote. I hope you are happy with whomever you had perform the roofing job on your home and sorry about any confusion about our written estimates.
