The workers arrived on time and were very efficient. The total job was completed in 6 hours. My husband was even invited on to the roof to check their work. They cleaned up everything and we did not find any debris around the house. The dumpster was also removed promptly within 24 hours after the roofing job was finished. The final bill was the exact amount of the original quote. We only had to put down $100 before the job was started and paid the remaining amount when the job was completed. Avalon Building Concepts even sent out an employee to do a follow-up to make sure we were happy with the job that was done. We were very pleased with the whole experience and would use this company again.

Well, the drywall work was good; can't really tell with the insulation, except to say that I could notice a difference in the cold weather. The drywall work was very expensive I thought. They were also from Grand Rapids, and I wished that I had hired a company from the Holland area. I was nervous when the contract didn't have a time limit specified in it for the work to be completed; when I called, the owner was responsive and the work got done, but the distance somehow made me uncomfortable.

We have had 3 big projects since we have moved into our home since spring of this year. We chose them, because of their reviews on Angie’s List. As well as, because we wanted a company that was able to do diversity jobs for some projects that we wanted to have done around our home. We also wanted a company who invests their time in the community. They assigned us a contact, Justin, and he comes to our home and discusses things that we may need done as appose to what we should have done now. I appreciate that I feel it is an honest conversation with him about what needs to be done now, instead of what needs to be done in the future. We communicate well with him best through text messaging and he is very personal. He is always available, he stops by when the gentleman are working on our home to check in to sure everything is going according to plan. One job that we had, Justin was our estimator. He came out and analyzed things, he gave us the estimate and a detail description of the work, that we singed upon – unfortunately it was a little bit higher that what we agreed on when the contractor came out and they honored their price that was originally quoted by Justin. We are also working with a finical company that they offered when they listed the types of payments that they received. They have all done 3 large jobs for us; they have done electrical, insulation, chimney repair, minor roof repair for us. So far so good; They have a professional office staff and Justin is professional too; and all of their subcontractors that we have had come to our home, we have had no discourse with them. Also, whenever they had to enter our home, they were clean, tidy, contentious, respectful and even put little booties on.

They did an okay job. They put on a new roof for us 4.5 years ago, but we do not live at that home anymore. We originally had an older home and the first subcontractors that they sent out, the nails that they put in went through the front and you could see them around the ledge of the home. They also did not duct point around the chimney which looked kind of sloppy. We contacted Avalon Building Concepts and we told them the issue and they sent a crew back out quickly to fix the complaint. Then we we are satisfied with the outcome

The reason why we used them was, because they offered us a blanket deal for pricing. They put a new roof on and put in blown in insulation. They put in new windows and they also did siding. I did not have the time to individually search out contractors in all of those things that I needed and I wanted someone who could do all of those things for us. They did all that we asked them to do. Overall we were pleased. I did have a stucco house and they had to change part of their siding technique to accommodate to our home. I found them, because they had a couple of street signs in yards around my home and I watched what was being done to those homes and I thought it looked like they were doing a good job, so I contacted them to do the work for us. I would recommend them to do work for anyone who was interested. They started when they were supposed to, but they were a little delayed due to the rain and flooding; but they tackled our jobs one after another without any delay. Their prices were cheaper than some other well known companies in the area; and their prices were fair. We did have a couple of things that came up, but they were out here right away. For and example they did side over what is known as a gas puck, a remote device that a gas company looks at, but when I brought that to their attention, before I could even blink they were out here to get that taken care of. They were polite and attentive to our needs.

This morning they came out and did a cement porch for us; and the things they have done for us in the past has all been quality work. In addition to today's work, they also have done some installation work for us, some additional cement work for us, they also installed 1 egress window in the basement. Their prices are a little high, but they stand behind their work!

I really liked them and they were professional. They cleaned up well for both of these jobs too. They stayed at their quoted price. They also found some additional wood that was rotting on my deck, so they replaced it for me. I would recommend them and so far everything still looks good. I worked with the sales man Justin and he was really professional in giving me the quote. This was a very quick job and judos to Avalon Building Concepts. Their prices were also comparable to their competitors.

They are a roofing company that we used about 2 years ago. They put on a new roof for us on a 3 story home with a finished basement. Last winter we were having an ice build up around our attic, so they came back out and tried to stop the heat from coming out, but we could not find where it was coming from. It was vented when they installed the roof, but it didn't help. The employees had good communication with us. They had adequate pricing. They came out and did what they said they were going to do and did their best at it.

The first time they put in 2 new skylights and replaced the ones that I had. I could not be more pleased with them and they have been wonderful. I then had them come out for a second job, they did some repair work in my ceiling where I had a leak and they found it and fixed it for me. On top of fixing the ceiling and did repaired the fascia on the front of my home that had been knocked off by a tree. They also did some repair work on my roof. They are my go to company when I need work done. I have had a good relationship with this company. They fella who comes out and gives estimates is always good to work with. The leader of the work, Todd, has always been good to work with as well. The jobs that I have had done, the price has been good and fair.

We had a wind storm that they fixed the portion of the roof that was torn up, mostly around the roofing trim. They were prompt to our response. I worked with one of their employees and they were very friendly. They also cleaned up their mess before they left. They had competitive prices and did the job faster than anyone else.

Everything went fast and quality. Came out for a quote that same day as called and fixed the roof while we were at work within two days later. Completely satisfied!

It went soooooo good! These guys are the best in the business as far as we're concerned. After calling them, their rep called back and then came out the next day to look at the project, he called several times over the next week, then he had the crew that was doing the work, come out and look at the project. Then the company's owner came out to talk to us. We agreed to hire their company, made a small deposit and agreed on a start date. They could not start on the day planned due to rain, but they were here on site everyday that the weather cooperated. These guys were amazing!!! They work LONG(12 hour days) HOT HOT DAYS! And after the long day on the job they CLEANED everything up out of the yard. The team leader spoke to us about any concerns he had and advised that the plywood would would have to be replaced, he also took LOTS of pictures of each triangle he had to replace. They even came on Saturday one week because they had had two rain days that week! We just can't say enough GREAT things about this company and their crew of workers. At the end of the job, these guys felt like part of the family. We are thoroughly happy with the job they did AND the price!

We ended up using a different company just because it was a different method of insulation. Justin was very professional, and I would use them in the future, They just didnt offer the foam insulation.

We were happy with everything really. They showed up when they said they would. They took good care of us.

They did excellent work. The workers were diligent. They were here when they said they would be and done when they said they would be. They are nice and friendly people. They also replaced our roof 3 about years ago. They probably don't have the lowest cost but they are very worth the money, they provide good value.

The gentlemen who came out and took a look at the home we needed rehabbed was decent but his cost was out of this world. Granted, the home needs a LOT of work, every other company quoted around 30-35k but this gentlemen said he didn't even want to quote us because it was going to be over 60k. That was absurd and he made us feel a bit uncomfortable with how he said it, we are going to move into this house when it is done, I don't find anything about wanting your new home fixed up funny and I feel it is rude to laugh about how much it will cost. The women who answered the phone at the company was very nice and he did arrive when they said he would be there. So, if you have the extra cash to throw out the window this is the company for you, he did say that on top of what they charge for labor and materials they also charge an extra percentage above that. They are definitely in the money making business....

I recently had a new roof installed by Avalon Building Concepts. . As a retiree, I need to make sure my money is spent on the right things, and I get the most for my money. Avalon was recommended to me from a couple of sources. Their estaminet process was complete. I was shown reviews by past customers, their license, insurance, warranty, product line, etc. It was a complete process, and very professional. I also got two other estimates, one was exactly the same (warranty was lower), and one the cost was lower. I decided to go with Avalon, because I felt I was getting more for my money. The crew came and worked from 9:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. the first day. They were quick, professional, and hard workers. I was mowing the grass and stayed away from the house until they left for the day. The job was not completed, (I was told it would take two days, so I wasn?t surprised), so before I mowed I walked around the house, to see what I had to pick up before I could mow. I was stunned to find there was absolutely nothing in my grass, no nails, paper, not even a piece of single!! They finished my roof the next day, and the results were amazing. I am very pleased. The salesman returned to make sure I was satisfied with the job, and I also received a follow up survey (from another employee) to make sure I was satisfied with the results. This company is professional, and trustworthy, I will call them first if I need any more work done, and they will be the first company I recommend to family and friends. Thanks Avalon!!

Not too bad, but would not ever use this company again.

Went great!! This took longer than anticipated, but it was the fault of the rainy weather and their needing to order more brick/stone for the front because there was not enough of a variety of colors and shapes left. I wanted to put before and after pictures on here of the house, but can't find how to do it.

I was unhappy about the fact that I felt like I had to do most of the clean up. I had left to the store and his helper took my shower curtain that had dry wall plaster on it in my washer with out consulting me first. That could have done damage to my washer. They just weren't careful about my home, they were just worried aout getting the work done and getting paid. It took a month befoe they could even get out to repair it.

In our "daylight basement," one of our bedrooms had been too dark and gloomy because the one east-facing window in that corner room was beneath our deck. We decided, as a surprise welcome home after a number of months away, to add a new window in the south wall. By the time we decided to do that, time was short. We called Avalon because we saw their sign at the home of a neighbor's house, and we figured anyone working for that particular neighbor was probably very good. Someone promptly came by to give us an estimate. The price was as good as--actually a bit better than--one other estimate that we had received. The hitch was that the date estimate was, while perfectly reasonable under normal circumstances, too late for us. We explained that family circumstances made it important for us to have the work all finished before the end of May. They said they would get it done by then. And they did. I was out of town when the workers came, but my wife was here and gave me eyewitness reports, photos, and even some video footage (of the hole being sawed in the wall!). The guys who did the work clearly knew what they were doing, worked efficiently, and were cheerfully tolerant of my wife's observation (and photographing, for me) of their work. In addition to putting in the new window, they also replaced a window in another room that had been improperly installed by someone else several years earlier and had since cracked. They gave us an excellent price on the additional window. The windows they installed are better quality (e.g., better locks, easier to fold in for washing) than the other windows in our house. One of the new screens they installed had a small hole. My wife pointed it out, and they promised to replace the screen--which they did. I'm thinking of this project now because they just called and came out for a six-month-after-install check-up. They looked at the windows and asked questions to make sure we're satisfied. And they did a free sensor check of the whole house to see whether we need further work to stop heat loss anywhere. (They said we don't.) We couldn't be more pleased with the service we have received.

I was told by salesman that workers were not sub-contracted "trained 'em myself" yet the worker's truck had another co. name on it. They were supposed to use plywood sheets leaning on house placed on tarps to avoid damage to flower beds "we aren't gonna break a flower" & keep debris off lawn yet when I looked out they were stripping without plywood or tarps! (corrected upon a call to their office)When they dropped a dumpster in driveway next to house a large section of drainpipe was damaged (replaced upon bringing to their attention, a spotlight under overhang also damaged & replaced). City Inspector left WARNING on my door that a building certificate was not secured prior to beginning the job, this was obtained & posted properly after the fact. Workers used my garden hose ON THE ROOF! getting sticky tar all over it then coiled in back as if nothing wrong (replaced upon demand). A utility push broom used for garage & kept in garage was also used/mucked up & replaced upon demand. A faucet on outside was used & workers couldn't shut off (handle broke off) so they came inside the house looking for master shut off instead of calling my cell phone as agreed (had electricians inside working another job & they discovered tar covered worker in carpeted area looking for shut off). The reason I replaced the roof was due to seepage during a bad storm that trickled down inside a front wall. All damaged wood was supposed to be replaced & incl. in price quote yet salesman commented more than once that they "weren't going to make anything on this job". Now when it rains there is strong musty odor inside the house but insurance won't cover due to lapse of time since repair. Inspection indicates all damaged wood may not have been replaced but would need to open the roof to confirm. During 1st thaw after new roof a skylight in patio area leaked & instead of opening shingles to inspect & replace any damaged wood they slathered patching tar. I am 1st time homeowner & handled many issues incorrectly & feel a more responsible contractor could have produced a much better outcome to my experience.

The service of Avalon Building Concepts was superb from the first contact to the finished project. They went out of their way to get our last minute request for an egress window met before our foreign student arrived. They supplied an upgraded color choice without extra charge. Todd and Kevin who installed our window did an excellent job. They even installed a gutter system on a porch overhang to ensure excess water drained away from our newly installed window. Our project included cutting away a section of deck which exposed the siding of the house that had been under the deck. They cleaned the exposed edges of the deck and siding then painted them to look clean and fresh. They thought of every detail. The property was cleaned at the end of each day. The company owner visited on the last day to inspect the project and assure that we were completely satisfied. Every person we had dealings with was courteous, professional and customer oriented. We will use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

I most highly recommend Avalon Building Concepts for the work they do. Not too long ago a different roofing company put a new roof on my house. When the roof began to leak that company refused to correct their work. A rep for Avalon Building Concepts, named Jeremy, recommended what work needed to be done to my roof. He understood my frustration with the other roofing company. He did not bad mouth the other company, instead he was very professional in getting my roof fixed for a very reasonable price. He also showed me where and why the roof was leaking. The Avalon employees that replaced my roof were very competent and professional. I could not be more happy with the work of Avalon Building Concepts.
