David was my rep, he was very professional throughout the whole process. He did a great job presenting a variety of choices in regards to both new windows and new siding. David was very knowledgable about all of the options that were made available to me. He certainly went the extra mile to ensure that I had found the exact exterior siding color that I had been looking for. I also appreciated that I never felt pressured to purchase anything that I wasn't looking for/didn't need. That certainly helped to put me at ease with my decision to go with Avalon. The owner, Rick Mead even took the time to follow up with me after the work was done. I could not be happier with my experience with Avalon and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have work done on their home. I also have several friends that have used Avalon for various projects in the past, and they all had great experiences as well.

We were in a tornado stricken area. It was difficult to get vendors to come out and view the damage and write up quotes. Most of my appointments were no shows. Larry came out, met with us, and gave us a price for the roof and siding. He offered to meet with the insurance adjuster to review with him the damage and what it would take to make it right. The original adjuster gave us almost nothing to repair the roof or the siding. Larry met with that adjuster's supervisor and got the go ahead to redo the entire roof almost immediately. As of this date, we are still waiting to hear from the insurance company about the siding, but I believe that we will get a better deal from the insurance company than we did from the original adjuster. Larry was always on time, answered all our questions and there were no surprises or "extra undisclosed" costs. The crew that worked on the job kept the area clean. They leaned plywood against the house to protect the vegetation that surrounds the house. They were cordial and worked diligently. All in all, it was a very positive experience.

I cannot say enough how great the service from Avalon has been. After seeing the amazing work on roof replacement, I am now having Avalon replace the siding on my home. Larry from Avalon is prompt/professional on having your needs met. The service and commitment from Avalon speaks volumes. It has been a pleasure having a company I can truly trust at my home.

Working with Avalon Building Concepts has been absolutely amazing. Larry Sidebotham was my primary contact throughout the entire repair process. From my initial point of contact with Larry made me feel extremely comfortable and at ease with the job. He explained all steps and was intent on assuring that I knew the work would be completed to my satisfaction. Mr. Sidebothom was correct and the work was completed satisfactorily. There was only one issue that arose during the work (as sometimes things happen), but Larry and the crew were prompt in taking care of that minor issue and the work looks fantastic. Andy and another gentleman were the men that completed the roof repair. They arrived promptly when they said they would and literally worked non-stop for over nine hours the first day and completed early the second day. I am an avid gardener and have a very delicate backyard and plants. The two men took extreme precautions to ensure the plants were not damaged. They had to remove the entire rear section of my roof, and I am so remarkably surprised that not one plant was damaged. Once Andy and his partner completed the job and cleaned up, you would not have known that they were even here. In the end, the work was completed beyond my expectations. Quicker than I expected it, and I was kept in the loop throughout the process. If you need roof work done or a new roof, I would not hesitate at all to contact Avalon Building Concepts. Make sure you request Larry Sidebotham to give you the estimate as he is pleasant, honest, and very articulate in discussing the project. Additionally, If you do decide on Avalon, Request ANdy to complete you roof work. Absolutely meticulous.

It would be a leak around the base/flashing of a whirly-bird style roof vent in my garage roof that prompted this project. The house roof vents were fine when I inspected them but... AVALON Building Concepts has long been a highly regarded trusted and visible area provider. So, who ya gonna call? Initially I needed a re-roof but the peak/eve vent system, as presented, made good sense. Project went great -according to my watchful next door neighbor (I had to be out of town on the date the work was performed). How great? The neighbor contacted AVALON/Rick to arrange to have THEIR house re-shingled. Back home I was pleased with the finished product. Especially the clean-up. When I wore a tad younger mans cloths I'd helped a few friends with their tear-off and roof re-shingles. I KNOW what a mess we'd make -probably the most fun of re-roofing. The clean-up after, not so much! The peak/eve vent system works `as advertised'. No roof ice build up (NICE) but... the change in the attitude (and `altitude') of the eves to the existing eve trough/gutters was problematic. When it rained a number of the windows would have water running down them enroute to the `pitter/patter' (pounding sometimes) on the aluminum outer window ledges. There was only so much of listening to the `rhythm of the rain' I could stand. Also, during `spirited' rains, enough run off cleared the eve troughs (entirely) that the lawn below began to form a noticeable erosion `line'. I observed these anomalies a few times in hopes of being able to describe them to Rick before I called him. It may have been the same day I phoned (if not, certainly the next) that Rick and one of their top nail gun wielding, aluminum bending, ladder climbing surgeons visited and inspected `things'. A plan was devised/implemented to eliminate the water between the eves and eve troughs the same day. There would be no charge for this `fix'. Nor would Rick entertain my offer of `something' towards the materials/labor expended. Nope. Specific to the `rain' that would `go-long' of the eve troughs... even if this condition didn't exist, a new eve trough/gutter system was desirable. Too, an exterior house painting. Perhaps siding the house versus painting. I was provided costs for these services and took them under advisement. AVALON stayed in touch (follow-ups) for these SIX YEARS since the re-roof (when I take things under advisement -I take them under ADVISEMENT). Few reasons prompted my recently subscribing to Angie's list. Tree service; eves/gutters; house painting -or siding. I've already decided on a tree service provider and have re-established comms with AVALON. In conclusion (you still awake?) roof peak and eve vent system, two thumbs up here in the snow belt; be mindful of the change in eve attitude if you employ a roof eve/gutter system. AVALON, two thumbs up. Tree service pending. Stay tuned..??

Excellent work! These guys know roofs. Very professional and knowledgeable. They worked quickly and were very neat and clean and respected my property. They were respectful and punctual. We got exactly what we wanted. High quality work. As soon as we met Carl and his crew we knew that we had made the right choice. The roof never looked better! These guys are highly skilled pros that love their work. I highly recommend Avalon building concepts to anyone with roofing needs.

I was very satisified with the sales person, and all the guys who worked on my home. They cleaned up everything before they left.

They were really good. The only thing was, they left a few nails around on the ground that we are still finding. The guys seem really nice and they did their best. They talked to us about things. They were a little expensive. They were here on a regular basis and they did answer questions. They did it in a timely manner. They came when we were at work. They were friendly and courteous. We were pleased with them and it took a little longer than expected.

I cant say enough, just so happy that we called them for an estimate. The salesman, Larry, that came became like part of the family. He is genuine, Honest, committed, personable and just a true sweetheart! He isn't full of bull, and tells you like it is. They delivered everything they said they would and more. The same goes for the crew. They worked hard in the heat, gave us a beautiful roof, cleaned up everything, and even protected my beautiful flowers and landscaping. I am beyond impressed, very pleased. If you hire them for your project you will not regret it.

He wasn't too pushy for me to sign a contract before I met with other contractors. I appreciated that.

No one showed up for the first appointment scheduled. I called the company (phone line is answered 24 hrs a day), and was eventually rescheduled for a second appointment with their 'best person'. From the time we started, however, he constantly tried to up-sell the products. He never quoted us the cheapest well system, despite our repeatedly asking for a quote on it. He also repeatedly insisted on extras insisting that price was not an issue since they could finance the whole project. Prices quoted were all based on totals with no break down on the pricing. He also frequently gave prices in "per month" scenarios rather than total cost. The end price was over double what we were quoted from another company. We had no interest in continuing the project with this company after this experience.

It went really well! They even worked on Sundays and through bad weather.

Price was competitive and timing was perfect. The crew arrived on time and ready to go. This insulation project, as with many jobs had some challenges but Avalon and the crew work through them like the professionals they are. Everyone was polite and respectful of our home. All of our questions were answered and with the one minor concern about ice dam buildup, Justin was responsive to this concern and climbed up into the attic to re-inspect the insulation coverage and determined that we are well covered in that area and if we experience problems next winter to call and they will re-address that minor concern at that time. All said, a great experience, knowledgeable crew & staff, I will use the again if we have any general construction projects.

Tried to get him to leave an estaminet, he would not, told me if I didn't go with him today he couldn't give me that price a week later. He gave me his card I threw it in the trash. I don't make snap decisions. And I wait for all estaminet to come in and think it over.

Due to this seasons harsh SouthWest Michigan winter, many homeowners are presently experiencing extreme snow build up, ice damming and subsequent roofing leaks. I used to be one of them, until I contracted Avalon Building Concepts for installation of a Golden Pledge warranty roofing system, Invisivent soffit & fascia, and gutters with Proflow cap. I wish I could post before and after pic's of the roof from the 2012/2013 winter to the 2013/2014 winter to visually show what a huge difference how having a properly installed and ventilated roofing system can make. As with any contracted projects, its starts with personal research and consultations with area businesses. My meeting with the Sales & Construction manager from Avalon Building proved most informative during this process. Our discussions started with what I was looking to accomplish with this project and corrective action that could be accomplished regarding the issue of ice damming that I was experiencing. I was thoroughly informed on what causes this type problem and what needed to be done to correct it. Although I started with only a new roof in mind, the information conveyed of how a properly vented roofing system works and the products required led me to add the installation of a new Invisivent soffit & fascia as well. As I learned in the consultation, there are many factors that contribute to a successful ventilated roofing system including installation methods, proper insulation, air flow and the products available to achieve the end result. Not only was the consultation informative, but I was extremely pleased in the manner in which it was conducted and felt it helped me make the best decision on the project for my home. Although I had others that provided estimates that were less expensive, there was no one that provided more value for the dollar than Avalon Building did. The transferable Golden Pledge roof warranty was like no other warranty that I had ever heard about, and I feel not only offers me piece of mind on this product and service, but added value to my home as well. The construction phase of my project began promptly once contractual obligations were laid out. The Sales & Construction manager showed up in addition to the crew. We discussed the phases of the project and the order in which they would be completed. The crew was very diligent in not only the installation, but the clean up efforts as well. I was actually surprised at how fast and efficiently they worked and they were very courteous during the process. Once all work was completed I received a call from Avalon Building owner Richard Mead to inquire on my satisfaction of everything. I was happy to report that I could not have been more pleased on the products and services offered by Avalon Building. Avalon Building has really exceeded my expectations. I have recommended Avalon Building to other people I know and they also reported they were happy with products, service, and value provided by them and thanked us for the recommendation. If I recommend Avalon Building to friends, I most certainly would recommend them to anyone taking the time to read these reviews. Avalon Building is now at the top of my list for any future construction projects. I am posting my review in the winter season even though my project was completed in the summer. Aesthetically I was very pleased on the products that were installed, but the ulterior motive was to correct ice damming and leaks. I am so happy to report that correcting the air flow problem for my roofing system corrected the trouble with ice damming and leaks. The products and installation methods really helped me achieve my corrective action goal. As I read in the news how this winter has caused so many problems for home owners I really feel sorry for them, but if they are serious about taking their own corrective actions I couldn't recommend Avalon Building Concepts more. Their knowledge, professionalism, host of products they offer and consultation expertise can really help those in need of solutions.

It did not go well. On the plus side, I called with a leaking roof and they responded within 5 hours. Scheduled to remove snow and de-ice around chimney at 11:00 on Saturday, Feb 8, 2014. Called office at 12:40 on scheduled day as no one from the company was here, nor did they call me. Manager stopped by approx 1:30 and stated his son was on the way. Son showed up at approx 2:30 with another young man. They did not knock on the door nor call informing me they were going to begin work - I only noticed because my 18 month old granddaughter started crying and dog started barking due to noise on the roof. Approximately 4:30, I noticed the vehicle was gone from my driveway. I stepped out and hollered to see if anyone was still on the roof. One young man was and stated the other had to go "take his ole lady to work". Approximately 6-6:30 PM, I stepped out to see if anyone was still on the roof as it was getting dark and I was concerned about his safety. There was no ladder, and no one on the roof, nor did anyone say when or if they would be back. The snow on the entire roof was not removed. Sunday came and went with no contact from the company. At 11:00 Monday, I still had not heard from the company and stopped payment on the check explaining the situation, stating I understand the 2 young men deserve to be paid for their time. I put a stop payment on the check, called the company and they are extremely upset with me. When asked how much I think I owe, I stated maybe $25 an hour per man on roof. Then they got upset because I offered a price. Manager is on the way to talk with me and I told him I would not answer the door. I am disabled and will not put myself under this kind of stress.

they were very prompt in the morning in getting to the job site, always kept us informed for the progress they were making and always kept us informed of any possible issue that they might have, that would put behind the finish date of the project.

We have used Avalon on more than one occasion. We felt their pricing was fair and they did a good job in the time frame they quoted. Would definitely use them again.

Windows Installed Fine, Good Quality. Roof Installed Fine, Gable work performed, aluminum covered and design added. We have had some issues with the construction that so far they have corrected. Another gable issue has since come to our attention, we have made several calls over the last month. We have been promised someone would come out, but so far no one has come out to check the issue. Leak potential.

Everything went as planned and expected.

They came out and did a complete tear off of my roof ,they also put insulation in my attic before putting the new roof on .They had everything done within 10 days of the first call . They cleaned up every thing very nicely ,they also worked around my schedule .They had a very friendly crew to do the job .I had a very good experience with everyone at Avalon Builders and would have them do more work in the future .

The contractor showed up at my door on a Friday asking if they could start roofing on Sunday because of all the rain we had been having. I gave them my consent, so about 9:30 they showed up and completed about have of my garage roof., They worked until about 3:oo cleaned up their tools and roofing scrap and left. They said they would be back on Monday around 9:00. They we untime and they finished the garage by late Monday afternoon. They again cleaned up the roofing supplies and then put shingles on the house roof, so they could get started on that the next day. On Tuesday they returned about the same time and proceeded to work on the house roof. It was a little more complicated than the garage because my house has a add on and the people who built it could have done better. Anyway they worked the full day and put a tarp on the portion that didn't get shingles and cleaned up for the day and left. Later that evening the lead contractor for the job came back because we were suppose to get heavy winds and he didn't want the tarp to blow so he tacked it down with some boards. It rained on Wednesday, but Thursday they came back and finished the job. Also I had a couple shingles up on the front that the contractor fixed for me out of politeness. The crew was very polite, they cleaned up at the end of each day. My yard wasn't left in a mess with shingles or paper. I was very pleased with Avalon and the job they did for me and will probably call them for future estimates for jobs on my home.

They went the extra mile to make sure the skylight was leak proof and were very professional. They wanted to make sure I was satisfied with their work.

They did a very good job. It took 2 days.They were pleasant to talk to rug cleaned up after work.
