ANIMAL CLINIC

Veterinarians, Animal Boarding Kennels,

About us

The Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Grand Rapids, MI. The professional and courteous staff at the Animal Clinic provides the best possible medical care, surgical care, dental care, daycare, and boarding care to our valued patients. We go through a rigorous inspection by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to ensure that we are doing the best job for you and your pet. We are one of the oldest AAHA certified clinics in the United States and we take pride in that fact. We value all pets. We see a large variety of animals, including pocket pets, birds, reptiles, cats and dogs. We have over 60 years of veterinary experience including 30 years serving as the John Ball Zoo veterinarians. Along with serving John Ball Zoo, we proudly take care of the Grand Rapids Police Department, Muskegon, and Allegan county K-9 unit dogs. We also care for the dogs at Mackenzie's dog sanctuary, which is the largest no-kill dog sanctuary in the mid-west. We value the animals in nature, so we care for the animals at Wildlife Rehab Center and serve several cat rescue groups as well. If you have any medical questions, please feel free to call and/or make an appointment at (616) 241-3651.

We were then told that if we could come up with the $51 that would be the only way they would help our animal and that we would on top of that probably need hundred and fifty for x-rays to see if he even ate that metal pan or just hurt himself in a different manner. I understand they need to get paid and I understand that there's other people out there who haven't but this gentleman seems to me more worried about the money then he was about the animal and that's what a veterinarian really should be concerned with is the animal not the dollar. My first visit was much better but at that time I had the money . So it is this reason that I will never go back there again.

They are very good. They have good vets and they are up to the current treatments. They are honest with you about things. I like the vet.

I have been going there for ten years. They are professional and knowledgeable. Their prices are normal. I would of course use them again in the future.

Asked about dog's bad breath and was told by a vet tech to change food and use mint toothpaste. Later, groomer found infected teeth and said a dental cleaning was needed. Different vet concurred.

The veterinarians here are top of the line, and their long office hours (that start at 7am) are a godsend. My faith in them and their ability to diagnose and successfully treat a wide range of medical problems is absolute.

He is very smart. He is really good with the animals and just seems to connect with them. He always knows what he is doing and he used to be a veterinarian at the zoo.
