Allied Roofing and Siding

We signed the contract last year. However, since we are snow birds, we had to delay the project. Allied honored our contact (even we didn’t have to pay down payment). Allied Roofing did the job in one day. The roof is so beautiful. We had our house for sale. We got an offer more than we asked for. We are very happy with their work. Their representatives kept us informed. We received response whenever we contacted them. We highly recommend Allied roofing and will hire them: good work, good price, honest!

From the initial quote to having the work done, it took about 3 weeks. The workers showed up and got right to work tearing off the shingles and replaced a few damaged sheets of plywood. They had the roof done in about a day and a half and it looks great. They also installed Ridge vent and covered my old pot vents up. They even fixed a few things that the original roofers didn't do, like proper flashing in some areas.

Quick response with the quote and very accommodating with my remote schedule. The onsite crew were very hardworking and I appreciated them also working with the neighbors (tear downs are a mess and it's inevitable it will end up in their property). They cleaned up my property and neighbors very well at the end at each day. Bob (foreman) was great at communicating at the job site to me. Mike and his brother (the owners) were great to deal with and were very responsive.

They did an awesome job! I have since recommended them to others!

We had some problems with the interpretation of the work to be done according to the contract, but we got that ironed out.  The troubling part of the transaction was that, until the work actually began, we never saw or spoke to anyone.  I called the number and left our address and what we wanted done.  A couple days later, a proposal was left inside my screen door.  I called the office with a question, but got the answering machine.  A couple days later a new proposal arrived that dealt with my question.
Without notice, the workers showed up to do the work, but when the roof was on the house they started to pack up to leave.  I asked when the garage would be done and the worker said the garage wasn't part of the proposal.  I showed him where in the contract it was and he said he would have the boss call.  Instead of that, the workers came back and roofed the garage.  It all turned out all right, but I never actually spoke to someone in charge.  It was a bit unsettling.

The actual roofing went well.  The crew worked very hard, long hours and cleaned up my yard and driveway pretty well.

My biggest issues concerned management and clean-up. As I indicate above, the roofing process went well, especially considering the high pitch of the roof and the fact that it had three layers of shingles on it.  It was a large job, and initially I was very pleased.

However, after hosing off the lower part of the house to get the dirt off, I noticed tar spots on the wood siding and gutters, and after Allied guys (Mike and Dave) came out to take a look, they said they would take care of it.  However, I struggled with Mike for two weeks to have it done, and after a shouting match between myself and the foreman, they finally re-touched the paint to cover the tar marks.  My house had been painted only two years before, and I wanted it looking reasonably the same as before the roof job (with a new roof, of course). 

I am reluctant to use this company again.  The roof looks great, the job itself was completed in 2 days, in time for a big rain storm and no leaks.  However, the final clean-up was a struggle.  Mike at Allied change his position concerning the company's responsibility when he brought his foreman back to my house, and he stood by as the foreman raised his voice at me, demanding what I wanted from them.  I shouted back, but I still thought the entire situation was extremely unprofessional and the shouting completely unnecessary.  I have talked to several people about this project (and one colleague's husband himself is a contractor and has replaced his own roof), and none agreed that I would have had to have my house re-painted after the roof job, even a 3-layer tear-off.  But that is what Allied was trying to tell me.  In the end, they completed the clean-up by touching up paint and taking some money off my final bill to account for the touching up that my painter did, but I am not sure I want to go through that again.

They were putting on a roof across the street and my husband told tem to do ours while they were here. They said that they would be over after lunch. He asked when they would be done and they said the next day and they were. They were very professional. We would hire them again.

I spent $7500 on the job. I would recommend others to hire them. I had already got an estimate from the guy when he was working in my neighbor?s house. When my husband asked him as to when he could start the roofing work, he said that he could start that very afternoon. He also told my husband that the work would be done by next afternoon. He and his crew did a beautiful and wonderful job. They had a crew of about 10-15 members. They really worked hard and got the job done. They were a little high when it came to the price. I will use them again in the future.

The original installation went very well. They provided a good quote. The installers were very polite, courteous and did a very nice job. Unfortunately ever since the original roof install they have been very difficult to get back out for any service or new work. Each time required many calls before there was a response. Eventually they would come visit. Unfortunately this year, it got worse. Since early this summer we have been trying to get them to fix a leaking flashing and help us with a gutter and a new installation. Numerous calls finally resulted in a visit to take the information for a quote, but several months later we can still not get a call back. We have called the main office, left messages, called on cell phones. Most recently I left a message informing them that this was the last time or we would find a new roofer, but would really like a call back letting us know that they no longer desired to provide service and we got no call back again. It is really too bad, they are nice guys and did fine work, but with a roof you need to know they will come when you have a leak or a new project !

I was impressed with Allied from start to finish. They responded within two days for a job inspection and two days later with a proposal. The proposal was written with all job details discussed in walk through covered in the proposal. I obtained 5 similar proposals from what I believe were reputable, established firms. The installation crew had been doing roofing installations for approximately 15 years and I was very impressed with the job they did, especially their attention to details for the new roof install. Things like properly placing freeze/water barrier at edge of roof; hand fitting material to adjacent aluminum siding for proper fit; new flashing on chimney; and application of ridge vent. They were constantly working (no breaks) and performed like a crew who knew their job. This makes not only for a nice appearing installation, but also no call-backs for repairs.

THE COMPANY DID A HORRENDOUS JOB ON THE ROOF. WE HAVE CALLED BACK MULTIPLE TIMES TO COMPLAIN AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE JUST BRUSH US OFF. THEY HAVE NO WORK ETHICS AND ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.

I HAVE TO SAY I REALLY DISLIKED THIS COMPANY. THEY GOT THE JOB DONE WAS IT WAS DONE VERY BADLY. THEY WERE VERY SLOPPY. THEY LEFT ALL OF THEIR MATERIALS IN MY LAWN WHICH CAUSED SOME DAMAGE TO MY FLOWERS.

THEIR WORKERS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HONEST. THEY GOT THE WORK DONE THE WAY THAT IT NEEDED TO BE AND MADE SURE TO CLEAN UP THEIR MESS AFTER THEY WERE DONE. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE JOB THEY DID.

I WOULDN'T HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I FELT THAT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REALLY NEEDED WORK. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD CLEAN UP DAILY AND THEY DID NOT. THEY ALSO LEFT THEIR DUMPSTER IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER THE JOB WAS DONE.
