Nick did eliminate the second user account and the duplicate files but problems persisted. He did a reinstallation of the OS. When I went to pick up the computer I tried it out to make sure everything was working satisfactorily. The computer was working fine. But wait, what happened to my Favorites & Contacts? Nick lost all my Favorites including business & financial sites among others. Contacts and related information were also lost in the process; office, home, cell & fax #?s, addresses, e-mail addresses, calendar w/ appointment dates etc. Big problem! Nick said I would have to leave the PC longer and he would recover the Outlook and Internet Explorer files. Two days later Nick called for me to pick up the PC. Nick informed me the files were lost and could not be recovered. A significant amount of data was lost. I was devastated. I still haven?t been able to replace many of my contacts. My conclusion; Nick Thurlow (Comet Computer Repair) was not qualified to do the job correctly.

"I would like to apologize for the experience that you had with Comet Computer Repair. Formatting or re installing the Operating System is not something we like to do, but sometimes have to there is just no way around it. And before doing this the customer is always notified before doing so, also the sign on the desk and the wall and our policy is that " Comet Computer Repair is not responsible for DATA loss." When the customer is contacted by myself i ask them what documents and data they would like to have saved. We back up what we can and go on with the repair."

This is probably the best service I've ever had not only did he go out of his way to get and return the computer but he also kept in contact with me about every step of the process. He was upfront that he was having trouble getting my files and that he was doing all he could to get them in the end we lost them to a bad sector on the hard drive but all in all I believe he did all he could to get them back. He was extremely fast and professional I will use his company many more times.
