After the inspection by the contractor I received no call from the organization. I had to call them. The president of the company (the "official appraiser" ) was not available when I called. I had to call back three times over several days before reaching him. When I finally did reach him, I found him discourteous, and, in fact, rude. He assumed I wanted a high price for my vehicle and offered reason after reason why my car was not worth what his initial estimate reflected. He made no reference to any of the extensive notes taken by the contractor to back up his claims, but only used broad statements like, "your car is old," and "It's got a lot of miles on it." I let him go on his rant for a couple of minutes before I interrupted and simply asked for his estimate. He provided his estimate, which was conveniently "half" of the initial estimate. The estimate was sufficient to secure the bank loan to acquire the vehicle, so my money was not entirely wasted, but my exerience with the president and the company was very poor. I later received an ameteurish-folder with copies of the contractor's findings and photos ... better than nothing, I guess. I would recommend potential buyers find another, more reputable appraisal company.

You may have us confused with our competitor; this does happen frequently due to similarity in names. Jason Phillips is the owner of our company (and while he has been accused of being a "Chatty Kathy", never once has he ever been describe as rude; quite the contrary). As you can see from our reviews here, but also on other websites such as yp.com, we are top rated company and would NEVER treat our clients in this manner. While we admit we are a bit more expensive than most other companies out there...we feel it is instances like this that self-explain why. We provide the best customer service possible and do not stop until our clients are satisfied. While this comes at only a bit more in cost that a lot of other "fly by night" companies out there, you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to Auto Appraise, Inc. and the service we provide with the knowledge to back it up. I am disheartened to see you had this type of experience with another company. If you feel you are still in need of a competent, accurate, and honest service, we would be more than happy to assist you. The amount of money offered to us by the insurance company did not match the amount of money we felt our car was worth. I sent forward my own comps and Kelley Blue Book evaluations to our insurance company to no avail. This was very stressful and time consuming. The next step was to get an independent appraisal (the insurance company had to get a new appraisal as well, from another independent appraiser. Check your insurance company policy as this is most often the step to take in a dispute.) I contacted several independent appraisers (most out of state) and got a bad impression from everyone except Auto Appraise, Inc. While others did not sound professional or present a thorough explanation of their services, Autumn and her group gave me confidence that they would see the job through. They send a local appraiser out to look at the car and gave no guarantees as to how much our car would appraise for (which was nice, as most groups through out a number by crunching numbers in their out of state office). This made me feel like I was not just being sold on their service and that they were actually giving a legitimate appraisal that would hold water. Needless to say, it did. We settled for $2200 more than the insurance company originally offered us! I will not hesitate to use them again in this situation and will not put in countless hours and weeks trying to fight the insurance company as they aren't interested in budging (as most people will just settle and not take the next step).
