The Yooperman's Bar & Grill is absolutely the best restaurant in the Western Upper Peninsula! We have eaten in several local restaurants in the Les Cheneaux/Goetzville/De Tour Village area but had never ate at the Yooperman's until someone told us that the food there was great. We had assumed it was a bar and only served 'bar-food' wow, were we ever wrong! The Yooperman's is fantastic! They do not serve gourmet food but what they do offer went beyond anything we expected. The food is made from scratch; there is no frozen/microwave junk in this restaurant. Every day they feature a different food bar too; Monday's is the Polish bar, Tuesday is Mexican, and so on. Amazingly, it includes the salad bar too for under $10 a person! Or you can order from their well thought-out menu, I have had the steak hoagie which was the best I have ever eaten! Since then I have tried the hot ham & cheese sandwich (under $7.00) and could not believe how good it was! Also, I need to tell you they serve the best onion rings I have ever had! My husband has had the Polish bar three times and rated it a 10. (With ten being the highest possible rating of course.) He's also had two different burgers there and rated both "a solid 9"! We love the potato salad and the coleslaw! Dinner for two without drinks can average less then $20 I don't know of any restaurant in Michigan where you can get such a fantastic dinner for so little money.
The waitress, Jennie is very informative too and truly knows the food & the menu, which is rare in restaurants now days as wait staff are rarely allowed to taste the food. They tend to just run amok rather then know the restaurant they work for.
If you have not tried the Yooperman?s Bar & Grill you are truly missing out on a taste-bud experience that you wont find anywhere else!
