The woman told me that, "She had to find my paperwork," and she was busy right now, to call her tomorrow. I told her that I had both my invoices and the copies of my checks with me so that we could take care of this right now. She called Rod, and said she'd give me $100 to get off her property right now. (To clarify further, this whole time I stood outside on their porch in the snow in 10 degree cold, talking to this irate, 30-something woman in Victoria's Secret pajama capris and a tiny, skanky tee-shirt while she smoked a cigarette) I told her I had paid $350. That's when she threatened to have me arrested for harassing her at her "home." I tried explaining (now in tears) that I just wanted to make this like it had never happened... to get it over with. She closed the door, talked on the phone with Rod, and told me to meet her at her bank the next day. She would give me a check for $300. I agreed. At the bank the next day, I cashed the check immediately so she couldn't cancel it...
