First of all, the GFCI outlets needed to be replaced. DeShano's crew did replace the outlets, but a significant portion were not installed straight. In addition, when asked to go back through and fix them, they did...for some of them. However, the switch plates that were crooked previously were repaired simply by gluing them to the wall! Terrible craftsmanship.
Secondly, they were solicited to repair siding/facia that had come loose and were pieced together. Again, instead of ordering new whole pieces, and installing them correctly they grabbed smaller pieces and installed partial sections. Needless to say, we were less than impressed.
Thirdly, they were to install flashing in between a brick area and the house just outside of our garage. This area was then to be sealed off. The crew simply sealed the brick area and did not install the flashing. Making the potential for water damage to be much worse than it was even without sealing.
Lastly, we had a leaky window well in the basement. For the first round of repairs, our inspector mentioned that the well needed to be cleaned out and gravel needed to be added, but must be 4in below the window. They simply added 4 in of gravel ON TOP of what was there. This caused the window well to leak far worse than it had previously and upon the second inspection water was literally running into the house. We called to complain and mentioned that a drain needed to be installed much like described ON THE WINDOW WELL! The crew did come to repair the problem quickly, but the window started leaking again after some rain. We went into the well to find that no drain was installed, the crew simply added a fixture and stuck it straight into the ground...making it look like the drain was installed, but not actually tying that fixture into the drain tile for the basement.Overall we are exceptionally upset about the quality of the work.
I would not recommend this crew to do work on a house, and though we do not have experience with one of their houses, based on my experience I would run away from any DeShano constructed structure. The work was just terrible.
