Jim was hired to install windows in our home in October of 2014. He did not have a proper crew and was asked to leave with the project incomplete after three weeks. The windows were improperly installed, as verified by an inspection by Cheboygan County Building Dept, were not properly sealed, and structural changes that he made to our porch required a permit that he failed to obtain. The installation allowed water to enter the walls and floors of our home and caused water damage. Additionally and most importantly he failed to follow any lead safe work practices and as a result our home was severly contaminated with lead dust. Had we not caught this on our own we would have brought our 5 month old back into an extremely hazardous situation. He also had no General Liability Insurance (his policy was cancelled due to non payment) even though he was required to have it at the time of our project. His negligence resulted in over $250,000 in damages and we have not been able to return to our home since 2014. All of this information has been documented with a multitude of inspections, reports, videos, and pictures. The State of Michigan, the US EPA, the Michigan Dept of Environmental Quality, and Licensing and Regulatory Affairs are all involved in attempting to provide a resolution to our situation and can verify this information.

Jim was great. Very professional and timely. Cleaned-up - we never found a nail in the ground! We have recommended him to two of our neighbors who are using him. Also will be doing a small interior remodel.

The initial soffit work went well but the entire job, which we were told would be completed in 1 month, still is not finished. It took until October 2014 for the siding to be completed and we are still wating for our chimney to be rebuilt and stone work placed on chimney. We were assured we would be first job in spring to complete the work.  However after multiple attempts to schedule this work no date  is set as of yet and no return calls after nearly 2 weeks of repeated calls.

Jim returned our calls and seemed very thorough. Explained everything he was going to do and did it.  This was helpful since this was at our cottage up north.
