Precision Built Construction

Don was punctual, professional, and performed all services with in the time line that he quoted me. His craftsmanship is top notch Don went above and beyond. It was a pleasure watching him work because he was clean, organized and efficient. I will absolutely recommend him to anyone without hesitation!

At the onset of the project, I sat down with Don and went over the plans and my expectations. I am an automotive engineer with 30 years of experience and I was really impressed with Don and his amount of experience, building skills, and extensive knowledge of construction techniques. What really sold me was when Don offered to text me photos of the project along the way on my cell phone. We collaborated on issues when there were questions. It was almost like I was right there, even though I was 400 miles away. Don really built us a quality home, strong enough to handle the heaviest snow loads in the snow belt of the lower peninsula. He has a great business sense and the people skills to keep his crews in line. Most of all, Don seems to really care about the projects that he works on. He once went the extra mile to plow our heavily snowed driveway just so I could get into our new house to review some of his work. He finished our shell with many extra personal touches that we added along the way. He made the changes we wanted and didn't try to talk us out of them just because it would be easier. All this was done in a very timely manner. We would highly recommend Don for his innovation, quality, cost, character, and timeliness. This guy is a real winner! We plan to use him for more upcoming projects.

They had to do a complete tear off of the old roof. They also tore off damaged wood & replaced. The owner Don is very talented & kept us informed when there was a problem with damaged material from the supplier, which caused a delay. His crew was also great & did a great job on install & clean up. A couple of the guys also installed a wood ceiling inside the cabin & we are very happy with the results.

The job went very well and Don kept us informed if something came up. The day he started we ended up having a wedding that evening on our back deck and they were all cleaned up and out of the way. I also had surgery the second day he was there and the noise lever was very tolerable. They worked maybe 3 1/2 days on my 39 square roof. It was in some pretty bad shape. We had about 6 leaks in various spots the year before. we also had him put ridge vent on the garage. Don told us there was no underlay, under the old shingles. He did replace quite a few sheets of board. We have had some rain since, and have absolutely no leaks.
I will call Don again when I need anything done! Again, what an amazing job! If I could post a photo, I would, but I don't see that option. 

The weather was not cooperative so the job took longer than anticipated. He also ended up starting a week later due to rain that had put him behind on other jobs. Don has great customer service skills, polite and kind. He returned calls or texts quickly. When he left each day he tried to inform me about when he would be back and what the plan was. He even came out on Father's Day to finish shingling the garage. He made sure he cleaned up each day and tried to have things neat and tidy. One day I was not there and my son said there was some debris that needed to be picked up in the backyard before my dogs could be allowed to run. He had a long way to drive and stayed late several days to get work completed. Overall I was pleased with the work and would recommend him to friends.

We LOVE this guy!  He is absolutely awesome.  We live several hours away and he kept us up to date on progress with pictures and phone calls.  We just went up to see the cabin and couldn't be happier!  He does very thorough, quality work.  In areas where his judgement was needed to correct an unforeseen problem, he was able to come up with creative solutions that turned out wonderful!   We have been dreaming of this for years and it turned out better than we ever expected!  I would absolutely recommend Precision Built and I'd wait as long as it takes to get on his calendar.  As long as Don is around, we won't be going anywhere else.

The entire process was very present and enjoyable. I would recommend this contractor to anyone. Great quality of construction, he did exactly what he said he was going to do. He stayed in contact with me almost every day during the construction process. Completed the entire project from site preparation to cement work to building permits and inspections, all on time. Anytime I need something done on my house from a roofing to a drywall I know who to call because Don does it all.

The price was reasonable.  They were very professional and did a good quality work.

Don Managed to fit us in during a very busy time for him.  We needed a new roof before the

snow fell.  Precision Built professionally completed the job during some of the nastiest weather

you could ask for and cleaned up so that when the snow was gone this spring, you never knew

it happened, other than we had a great looking roof!

Precision Built listened to our needs, did not oversell us overpriced shingles, completed on time and

cleaned up as promised.

I would recommend them to anyone looking for roofing needs or any construction job.

Don is fantastic! He and his crew are prompt, friendly and professional. They have finished every project on time or early! Don goes out of his way to make everything perfect and always with a smile on his face!

The first experience we had with Don was amazing.  He came in and converted out garage in to a step down living room.  His attention to detail was incredible.  The following year Don came in and remodeled our partially finished basement and put in a full bathroom, drop ceiling, and finished off an office.  My family then purchased a couple of cabins on Otsego Lake and we hired Don to gut them and remodel them completely.  From start to finish, you will not find another contractor that is as thorough as he is.  His ability to do just about anything has made him my "go to man" when it comes to remodel projects.  We will be contacting him again in the next couple of months to have him do another addition on our home as this man is an absolute magician when it comes to carpentry!   Nobody else will ever do work for us again and he comes highly recommended to anyone who has ever seen what he has done to our home already.

I explained this situation to Don who got out his ladder went up on the roof and repaired it using the shingles I bought previously, just as I asked him to do. This was in the middle of a snow storm w. wet, sloppy snow. He was cheerful, pleasant, and quick. It took about half an hour and it was done the way I asked him to do it. We live thirty miles from town. We have a very steep roof. He said that if he could not make it work with the ladder he had, he would go back to town and get the right ladder and come back to fix the roof. Fortunately, his ladder was sufficient. Now the amazing part, he asked for $100 to do the job. This is in comparison to the next lowest bid which was more than $5,000 to replace the roof. I was elated and gave him a big tip. I have also asked him to bid on the additions. He was done in less than an hour and cleaned up after himself too. It did take him a while to get to me, but that was because he was busy on other projects, as he explained to me when I first called. This was not an urgent problem.

The crew was very professional and friendly. Came when they said they would- showed up on time ready to work. Finished the project on time and under budget! Any minor mistakes that were made were fixed quickly. They made sure the work space was kept as clean as possible and even vacuumed and mopped the floors! Don- the owner was amazing to work with- he pays attention to detail and makes sure everything was done exceptionally well and to our liking!! Best experience we have ever had with a contractor! We are going to hire them back in the spring to redo some other fixes that need done around our home. His number has been added to our speed dial (no joke). Thank you Don for everything!

After interviewing several contractors, we chose Precision Built Construction for our garage project. Don, the owner, worked with us on final design, multiple iterations and cost estimates. Being comfortable with our builder was important to us since this is a vacation home and we weren't going to be on site all the time. Precision Built came through at every aspect of the project. Don was always responsive with us, even on weekends and after normal business hours.  We are very happy with the final product; our garage is beautiful, and we get complements from our neighbors. The neighbors that drove by during the construction commented on how hard and efficiently the crew worked. They kept the job site free of trash and debris on a daily basis. We would recommend Precision Built to everyone, and we plan to use them again for future projects.

The job went very well. Don (the owner of Precision Built) is very professional and knowledgeable, and communicates well. He provided quotes promptly, and he returns phonecalls and emails when there are questions, which is a big plus when you are trying to coordinate a job from 200 miles away(we live downstate). The job started on time, and despite some surprises(rotten roof boards) Don took care of the repair details and got everything done in a timely manner. The roof and chimney look great, and the price was fair. I will definitely call Don for our next cottage construction project.

The guy did what he said he was going to do.  He took a little longer than I thought, but he did a good job.
