If you are having basement water issues, I would strongly suggest that you contact Ark before signing a contract with any other company. I can't say enough good about them. I hired Mark and his crew to fix whatever was causing major rain leakage, which was getting worse by the day, in the furnace room of my basement. Pat responded promptly, examined the issue, explained what he was seeing, and got me an estimate quickly. Then Mark came and spent a lot of time checking the situation, after which he knocked a substantial amount off the estimate. Mark and his crew--three friendly, polite guys--arrived on time, put down floor and carpet protection, and got to work. They had to work with my regular plumber because the water heater had to be removed and then placed back; they accommodated his schedule. End of second day: Project complete, furnace room cleaner than when they arrived, and one additional price reduction. That kind of honesty is rare these days. I'd already signed a contract saying I would pay them a certain amount and they didn't have to tell me they hadn't needed to do something they thought they would. So, professionalism, courtesy, respect for my property, and honesty. What more could you ask for?

Trace from Ark came out to look at the job in the fall and give us a quote. He recommended that we might want to hire a structural engineer independently to make certain he was getting it right. We did, and everything aligned with what he saw. He also drilled and found a void in the fill under the garage, so he had us get a concrete lifting company to come out and fill it in first to make sure their anchors would hold properly. That happened in April, and then Ark came on May 4th to put anchors in. It only took a day and a half, and it was easy, efficient, and smooth. There was no hard sell, they took their time making sure they covered all bases, and their quote came in about half of the other major companies who came out to look at the job. Would definitely recommend.

Ark did an excellent job addressing our basement foundation and waterproofing needs. When we bought our home, we were aware that it had foundation issues (evidence of hydrostatic pressure). We met with many contractors and were given every possible proposal / solution under the sun ranging from: interior waterproofing, exterior waterproofing, wall tiebacks, and helical piers around the entire home. Trace came out for an initial estimate, and then brought Mark along for another consultation to help us make sense of the various solutions we were considering. They were able to explain to us the work that was absolutely necessary and that we didn't have to do most of what had been presented by other companies. We felt that Ark really had our and our home's best interest in mind. Trace offered to provide guidance even if we chose to go with someone else for the job. Well, we ultimately went with Ark and are very happy with the results. We had them install support i-beams, wall tiebacks, and interior waterproofing with a drain system and new sump pit. They did excellent work, their price was more than fair, and they left our basement looking cleaner than before they started. Highly recommended!

We received multiple quotes and decided to choose Ark Foundations due to their understanding of our project and communicating the best process to complete the job. Pat ...the cost/project estimater was very thorough as to what needed to be done. He was not pushy at all and very easy going. His estimate was cheaper than others and they were able to start the project at an earlier date than others. Mark the owner was also great! I liked the idea he has only one solid team that works with him. Mark brings his team in and is with them every step of the way until project finished! Both Pat and Mark were available to answer any questions at almost anytime.., weekends...at night.. didn’t matter!! Would highly recommend them!!

So far, so good. It is hard to know as this is a long term fix and until a few years have passed, one can not tell if the problem has been fixed. Every indication is that all is well and the job was done in a timely, neat and professional manner.

I had a broken foundation and needed it fixed. I called several companies out for a quote. Ark seemed like the only one who wasn't just out to make a buck. Trace the salesman was very honest and helped to educate me about what happened to my house, why it happened and how they'd go about fixing it. I didn't feel any pressure to buy and he even told me that I shouldn't make a decision about such a large expense on the spot. Mark the owner was at my house overseeing the job as it was being done. He and the crew were friendly and took great pains to keep my house clean. You could tell they knew what they were doing and the work went smoothly. They left my basement cleaner than when they started and my foundation is properly fixed now. I'd recommend Ark to anyone. They treat you like you're family and are the most honest contractors I've ever dealt with. On top of that, they know what they're doing and do it well.

They did a superb job analyzing the problem and providing the best solution. They were especially sensitive to cost factors. Overall an excellent experience!

I t was, initially, shockingly messy and awful - lots of dust and grit and dust.  However, they minimized the overall crisis and cleaned up behind themselves as best as possible.  Very friendly and knowledgeable.  Dont know if the system works until next spring.

Ark offered a great solution that is effective and created  fewer problems in our finished basement than what other contractors offered. This along with the fact that there was very little damage to our yard.

Ark explained clearly what they were going to do, listened well and answered all my questions. They did what they said they would do, plus a little extra (for no additional charge) and did it well. They really took care to minimize dust spread during the job and to clean up afterward. Overall, a very good company to work with.

Mark and his crew came as planned, on time and ready to work. The work was done very professionally and clean-up after work was completed to satisfaction.
There was a little discrepancy regarding the charges. But when I mentioned to Mark he made immediate correction; no farther questions asked.
 He came back on September 12, 2015 to check the basement and caulked as needed.

I would highly recommend Mark and Ark Foundation for any kind of basement waterproofing or foundation work.  Found him with Angie's list, and consistently great reviews, now I see why.  I had several quotes from other companies for basement waterproofing, but Ark's was the best price and I liked their system a bit better than others.  They clearly have a lot of experience with these systems.  Work was done well, on schedule, and good communication during the job.  A few things I particularly appreciated were attention to detail: did a great job cleaning up, even came back a few days after the job was done to do a more complete cleanup.  Also cement patched MANY holes and cracks in the concrete block which were left behind from previous stud wall attachment, at no extra charge.
The pricing and quote was straightforward.  No games, no pressure sales.  I wish all contractors worked this way.  Great small business to work with, highly recommended.

I can't say enough good things about Mark.  He was very courteous, punctual and professional.  He is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable, providing a comprehensive assessment of my foundation with explanations and insights throughout the process.  He was very responsive to my call and quickly set up the appointment, agreeing to an early Saturday meeting to accommodate my schedule.  Ultimately, he did not sell me any of his services, but he allayed any concerns I had with my foundation and gave me great advice for any future structural changes to my property.  I would definitely recommend ARK to anyone with questions or concerns about their foundations.

Mark is an excellent professional. He came out to give us an estimate promptly after we called him. and as he diagnosed the problems in our basement, he noticed that the sump pump that we had inserted ourselves was poorly installed and could lead to damage to the foundation of our house.   We had estimates from other companies, and found Mark to be competitive and fair. He met with my husband and son, explained his plan for relieving flooding that occurs with Spring thaws and Summer pours and brought 6 men to complete the job in a day and a half.  They truly worked so efficiently together and left the basement spotless with excellent application of cement to the surface of the floor after the inserted a drainage system.   They also fixed the hole that contained our sump pump to make it sound and efficient.

Upon meeting and speaking with Trace Shelly, I knew I had chosen the right company to do the repairs in my wet basement. Trace and Mark Foldenauer (General Manager) spent several hours explaining in detail the work that needed to be done. They both answered all of my questions and made sure I had a full understanding of the work to be done. The required work included installation of a full perimeter drainage system, modifying an existing sump container, and the installation of steel box beams to support a bowing wall. The work was done by a highly experienced work crew, with quality workmanship, and completed in the promised timeframe. They took great care to make sure that the path to the work area was completely protected. The guys worked efficiently and totally cleaned the area after the work was completed. I am very pleased with the outcome and would recommend them without hesitation. Thanks to Trace, Mark, and the workers involved. They did an awesome job!

We were in a world of hurt as with every rain shower the finished basement was taking on water via a window well that after 25 years began leaking. Mark drove over 40 miles within hours of our call and gave us an estimate with no guarantee he would get the job. But based on his extensive history of actually building foundations we figured he had more experience with these things. And once he started digging he found some things even he had never seen before but it never fazed him. He dug a 40 foot long trench for drain tile and put the yard back almost as he found it. He and Sean his assistant were very courteous and efficient. The man knows his way around a backhoe! I appreciated that he was very conservative with his assessment of our problem and made sure we were well aware that this particular job should fix our drainage issue, but that there could be hidden damage to the poured wall that remains unseen. His cautionary note is important as all too often contractors go for the quick easy fix and then later you have arguments with them over not solving the problem because they don't have the experience to foresee what the big picture is. So we feel at this time we were lucky to find Ark and Mark.
