Roots Interiors

For over a month I contacted numerous contractors, some of which have A ratings on Angies list, to have my deck powerwashed and restained as required by the homeowners association.  Some were unavailable until late July/early August (I started contacting them in mid-May 2013).  Others sounded great by telephone, but failed to show up for an estimate.  I called a handyman recommended by the list, but my  phone dropped the call mid-sentence.  I called back immediately and not only did he not answer the phone, the detailed message I left was never returned.  Some quoted me exorbitant fees - one stating over $1000 - for a deck that measures, at best, 150 sq feet.
Needless to say, I was frustrated.  After getting a newsletter from my association identifying a couple contractors for this type of work, I called Roots Interiors, which I believe is owned and fully operated by its owner, Doug Root.  I called him this past Monday (6/24/13).  He came to my house two days later for an estimate (6/26/13).  Not only was he timely, he was early.  He then told me that weather permitting, he could complete the entire job this weekend.  He arrived on time on (6/29/13) to perform the first stages of the project.  He came back on 6/30/13 to finish the stain.  Less then one week after I made the call to him, the job is finished, the deck looks great, and at a fair price ($300)!
I understand he specializes in interior painting.  While I've not used that service, when I do consider repainting the interior, he will be the first I call.  Very nice guy, timely, and he did a great job.
