First we have been going to this vet clinic for 18 years. We have taken 3 dogs there and we just got another one. Dr. Shaker is fantastic. I was just blown away by a phone call I received from Dr. Baes. I took my dog there last week to have his shots updated. They said at the check in that his dots were up to date. I said okay could I get his nails trimmed while I’m here. She said yes. My dog doesn’t like anyone to touch his feet, so they give him a shot to relax him. Then Dr. Shaker trimmed his nails (1 minute process) After I left I had a question about how I was charged for the service. $50 for the shot, $50 for and office visit, $20 to cut the nails and $3.00 hazardous fee ($123.00 to trim nails). I have never been charged to trim his nails plus an office visit) plus we bought Flea and Tick and heartworm medicine. I was just looking for a little credit on my account for future visit. I called the office the same afternoon (last Friday) and spoke with Claire (very helpful) and she said she would have one of the doctors call me back. As of Tuesday, no one had called me back. I called back and Claire said she would leave the message again. This morning (Wednesday) Dr. Baes called me and I asked him about the charge. His response is what blew me away. He said, “it is what it is”. I said I had never been charged that way before and he again said that’s the way it is. He said we do not even like to trim dogs nails, nor do we want to do it. He then said that he doesn’t like to discuss this kind of thing and starting naming other vet clinics that I could go to. I said I can’t believe that is your response. No one has ever been rude to us and you being an owner, it’s totally uncalled for. You could have at least said it in a professional manner. And we will take your advice and go to a different vet.

Unfortunately, the office staff lacks in communication skills. We were given different estimates from different people. One person would say one thing, then another something different. The office manager Natalie lied two times about amounts that were agreed upon. Our final bill was $800 more than expected. It was an amount never given to us. We had given them $1,100, then $1,600 the following day. We were told it would be around $2,300 originally. Later... the $1,100 plus another $1,600 and perhaps a few hundred more than that. Instead of being treated like customers who just gave a business $2,700, we were treated like we gave them nothing. Two of the office employees were so incredibly rude, I’m still in disbelief. This behavior does not fly in our family. We simply won’t tolerate it. I have decided to pay the $800 even though we feel absolutely extorted and milked. There’s more to that part, but I haven’t got the time to go into that much detail. Will they be getting their payment in full as they’ve tried to demand? Absolutely not! They will be paid as we can afford to pay them... Natalie try to say it’s their policy.... Well, it’s our family policy not to get ripped off by a liar and that policy supersedes any policy on this earth. We’ve taken our dog to our own vet twice so far, because this hospital left him at death’s door. If Natalie (who thinks she’s some kind of authority lol) thinks it will be happening any other way, she’s strongly mistaken. I thought about taking them to court. If my dog dies, I definitely will be. However, $800 is less than court and attorney fees... Natalie thinks that repeating her dishonesty over and over again will make it true, so watch out for that technique, it’s called gaslighting. Just because someone keeps saying, “If you’ll recall...” over and over and over again (that’s her tactic) does not make what that person is saying the truth. She’s a glorified bill collector who does not take criticism and apply it to better her business operations. She could care less about your animals and what you’re going through. She’s incredibly dishonest. She also needs to learn a life lesson called... The people paying you are ultimately in charge, so start acting like you want their money. Also, if you’re reading this... You are in charge of your own money (certainly not an office manager at a Flint animal hospital). You say what goes with it. Don’t allow a bully like Natalie to tell you what to do with your money. If someone lies to you about the price of something, you have all the right in the world to redefine the exchange as you see fit. Lastly, Miss Natalie can say all the words she’d like... Rest assured, payment will come to them exactly as I’ve outlined... That’s called the LAST WORD!

They are wonderful to work with. I've taken all of my pets there for years. No appointment is needed and you're seen with little wait time. I trust them with the health of my animals. My dog is diabetic and they've provided top notch care.

I like everything about them. He is a good doctor. He talks and listens. You only have to wait every once in a while when it is an extreme day.

I have taken all my pets here for years. I love Dr Baes and his entire staff. They are so friendly, helpful, and the costs are reasonalbe. Sometimes he doesn't even charge for office vistis or some meds. They were very comforting when I had to have our last cat put down. The girls in the office even hugged me as I was crying when the decision was made. Later they sent a sympathy card - it was a nice gesture. They even helped me find a new cat. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. Great place!!!

This particular visit was for my cats' booster shots, however, I've been taking my pets here for over 30 years. I like their walk in hours, no appointment needed including Saturdays. Based on conversations I've had with other pet owners their prices seem very reasonable. There is no office call charge for vaccinations and my pets always get a quick once over while they are there, the doctor listens to their heart and lungs, checks their teeth, ears etc. and willingly answers any questions I have. I also appreciate the fact that the doctors allow you to make decisions and do not try to talk you into or out of any treatments. On the other hand if you ask they will give you a straight forward and honest opinion about your options and the potential results. I think Dr. Baes is great. He's always pleasant, very knowledgeable and I feel like he cares about my pets well being as much as I do. His young staff is great. In 30+ years none of my pets has ever hesitated to go into his building.
