"Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] Thanks for your comments and your great rating. We strive for every job to be AAA! Thanks again"
- Contacted store and spoke with Eric McCroan (salesperson) for flooring. He was enthusiastic, showed interest in providing us with a service. Scheduled an appointment that day. He made me feel like they truly wanted our business.
A gentlemen came out within a few days and measured and we discussed price and types of wood. We relayed to the salesman that we couldn't go over a certain amount. I believe his name was Mike, he was very informative. The salesperson was very pleasant. He relayed this to Eric. The next day Eric is out with samples within our price range. He worked with us and we agreed on a product and the timing of the job.
Today the floors were done by Gordy, Mike and Tony. They were great. Very friendly. I would not hesitate to have the come back to our house. They were all courteous, and enjoyable to have in our home.
Also, any calls to the company was always answered by polite and courteous employees.
We had a great experience with Skaff Furniture Carpet One
"Thank you Mrs. [Member name removed]. We are so glad you're enjoying your new wood floors. We hope to make every contact with our customers an excellent one, and it is so good to hear you had a great experience with our sales staff and our installers. Thank you again!"
The installers were friendly and took great care to ensure no damage was done to our other floors, walls etc while carrying materials in and out. The quality of workmanship was outstanding.
One downside, the installers took little care in staging carpet and padding that was removed to make way for the new floors. The installers placed a mixture of heavy carpet and wood scraps with protruding nails in very thin plastic bags and staged the bags in my garage for disposal by me (disposal by owner is customer and expected so not a surprise). Nearly all the materials had to be rebagged in heavier bags (provided by me) before I could place them to the street for removal by our trash/waste removal service.
At the same time, I purchased a new mattress. The price was reasonable and it is very comfortable. Again delivery was prompt and the deliverymen efficient and courteous.
"We believe this is our customer (name removed) who received an installation at this same address, from April to August 2008. After our installations were complete the customer did not pay her COD balance as agreed. We invoiced the customer for four straight months, in addition to calling to collect. We did not receive a response or any complaint from the customer about the installation or the product during this time. On October 14 the customer called to say that she had lost her job in July and ‘would pay somehow’. The customer called on October 15 to request service on the flooring. Given the timing of our collection and the customer’s complaint, we determined to write a service order once the account was current but not before. Eventually we turned the account over for collections. Our attorney requested that as a good faith measure we inspect the flooring in order to settle the account. Eventually we had a Skaff representative inspect the floor, and determined there were moisture issues caused by the customer, or possibly from multiple pets in the house. The customer did not agree with these findings so in March 2009 we retained an independent inspector who visited the house and reported excessive moisture issues in the flooring. This could be due to improper maintenance or large spills, or some other cause. The independent inspector found there was no defect in the materials. The customer did not agree with the findings and asked to contact the manufacturer, Quick Step, directly and we gave her the contact information. Quick Step had the flooring inspected and found the exact same issue as the two inspectors we sent; moisture issues caused by the customer, and no manufacturing defect. Possible causes for the moisture were listed as traffic from Jacuzzi or pool, improper maintenance, or multiple pets in the house. The claim was denied. The customer ultimately paid the balance due in May of 2009. There was no manufacturing or installation defect in this installation and so there was no warranted complaint from the customer. For 100 years Skaff Furniture Carpet One has taken its responsibility to support its customers seriously and will promptly respond to valid requests for service on our products."
