STAY AWAY FROM GREG! I am not sure about the other crews, but our experience was horrible, it took 10 months to complete a garage. We were constantly contacting Greg to get updates because he was never there. My husband had to most of the general contractor duties including communications with inspectors. We had damage to our property outside of the project and to our neighbor's yard. Not to mention his crew was seen by my neighbor and her elderly mother urinating in their yard! The quality of work is not to par at all we already have a cracked garage floor and haven't even go to park in it yet, oh and it floods and so does our basement with the way they installed the gutters.

We were very pleased with the work of Motor City Builders. From the first call Matt was very informative and upfront. He was timely with giving an estimate and gave honest information about the timing of the project and possible hold ups of materials due to COVID. Fortunately, that did not prove to be an issue. The workers showed up on time each day and worked diligently throughout the day. Siding is a high priced project and Matt's price was well within our set budget. We recently had a roof done and upon them starting the siding they found some issues with the roof that weren't done quite right. We appreciate them being upfront and more importantly skilled to fix it and complete the siding with quality workmanship. Again, Matt was honest about what was needed and although there was additional cost to us it was a crisis averted. We have already happily given referrals to those who have asked.

I had to repair the drywall they messed up, touch up some painted surfaces and "somehow" my front door became broken (split door and door jam) when they were the only ones going in and out of the house and they blamed it on my 90 pound daughter. So, would i hire them again? NO, I would not even let them into the house.

It went very well. They suggested some add-ons like windows as well as replacing some windows. He also worked with me on the style of the exterior of the addition.

I had to hire another company to complete the repairs that they messed up. Some how my front door was broken while they were **** their work, but no one knows anything about it. I would never trust these people in my home. Just my opinion.

Entire job took about 3 months, but result is fantastic. Dave, Matt, and the whole crew at Motor City Builders are great to deal with. I recommend you contact them about your next building or remodeling project.

Motor City helped us transform a lake front cottage into a family home. 900 Sqft of addition were added to the existing home. ~75% of the existing structure was demolished and rebuilt. The job required a lot of ingenuity and creativity. Dave and his crew helped us from the design phase through the building process making necessary adjustments through the life of the project. Communication was always open and honest and we are very happy with the quality of work.

In short, it went fantastic. I had a large hip and valley roof and a detached garage that needed the roof replaced, and from the day Mike came to give the estimate I was impressed. First, the price was very reasonable compared to the other estimates I received. Mike was very detailed in what work he and his crew would be doing, what materials they would be using, and explained why on each detail. He discussed concerns with some trouble areas, and willingly answered all questions I had. They were on the job early, hit it hard each day, and finished ahead of schedule. Mike and his crew were all very friendly, professional, and did a fantastic job all the way around. I can not say enough about what a pleasant experience working with Motor City Builders was, and would easily hire them again if I had another large project to be done.

Part of the repairs were taken care of with our homeowners insurance, then we wanted some updates to items not affected by the water. We are thrilled with how our kitchen looks. Matt and his workers were fantastic. They were dedicated to doing a top notch job. They always let us know what time they were coming and were always on time. They worked hard the entire time they were here. Each person was very friendly and helpful and willing to answer questions and give advice.

Not to my liken would not recommend.Had to supply own siding.Had to inform about broken material .Never was shown break down off job.Went from 14x28 down to 16x20 at same price also walls 11ft down to 10ft didn't adjust for different.

The job was done in a timely manner as weather caused some unavoidable delays. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the steps taken to correct this from happening again. Mike Waterman was the contractor who headed this project and who I had most communication with. He was a pleasure to do business with as he was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and punctual. The crew kept all appointments and started early sometimes before daylight which impressed me. They cleaned up during and at the end of each day. The siding and roof look great. I would recommend them highly. Great job at a good price. Thank you so much. P.S. Mike also saw and corrected some potential problems on house roof.

I was in no rush so it was no problem getting our schedules to mesh. Mike came out and bid the job. He got up on the roof and measured the 2nd story roof as well as the flat roof. I was impressed with the ideas on changing the way the garage joins with the flat roof. The price was comparable to the other two bids I got but the others were less familiar with flat roofs. When Mike and the crew came out, they were here two days, as expected. There were no short cuts taken. They did everything Mike said they would. They cleaned the yard well. I would recommend them. In fact I did recommend them to my best friend.

At first Matt made you feel confident in the companies abilities to get the job done on time with no issues, however as you can see in the pictures, one of the workers cut around the electrical outlets instead of removing them or asking me to have them removed. This caused the outlet tabs to sit inside the drywall rather than on top where they should be. This also caused me to purchase oversized outlet covers. Paint runs were visible around the windows. The worst thing was when Matt came to get his final payment. As he was leaving I noticed the front entry door was damaged (see pictures) he called his carpet person and told me and my fiancé that the carpet installer seen that on Thursday, the last day work was performed. He tried to claim that someone probably tried to break in. I live in the front of the sub where parents line up for the school bus. I checked my game camera and it happened to be on that prior Tuesday and took a picture of the open door which showed no damage. I sent this picture to Matt with a time and date stamp on it. He offered to install a door if I bought it. I did not damage the door, his people were the only ones coming and going through that door. I even discussed it with a Genesee County Sherriff who has serious doubts that someone would try to break into the front of a house that backs up to the woods. If Matt does not respond to my communication attempts in a reasonable amount of time I will be seeking a legal remedy to this situation. Because of his response to this situation I will never use this company again and we had been planning on using them to install granite counter tops, but can no longer trust them in our house.

"This is Matthew Poirier with Motor City Builders. I want to start by apologizing again for the situation. We are more than willing to work with you and make things right as I mentioned in my last email to you. I offered to fix the few minor paint drips that you noticed and you and your fiance agreed it was not necessary, I even offered to install all the plate covers at no additional charge even though it was never part of the original contract, again you declined. As you gave me the final payment you told me you were satisfied with the work and wanted me to install granite countertops in your kitchen. As I was leaving you happen to notice that your front door was damaged. There is no way for us to know the true cause of the damage, yet I still offered to take care of the problem by covering 80 percent of the cost and said if that wasn't acceptable to you, please give me a call to discuss. For $150 you would have got a new door which was in need of being replaced, and I felt that was a fair offer. Instead you decided to get 4 other bids, go to the Sherrif department, then got on and left me a bad review, without giving me a call first as I kindly asked of you. Instead of taking the extreme actions you did I wish you would have called and talked this out. I am trying to be reasonable and fair with you. To make things right I am willing to replace the door, labor and material, as well as paint the door to match your existing color, free of charge We can be out there next week to install a new door for you. My phone number is 810-210-5848, please call me to get an appointment set up to get it installed. As I said from the beginning I am a very honest guy and take care of my customers. We are so pleased with the work that was performed for our bathroom remodel. Kevin did an AWESOME job in everything he did. He is a perfectionist and wanted to be sure everything was exactly right. We were very impressed with the work ethic of all the crews David sent to us. Carpenters arrived before daylight and worked steadily all day. Workers were polite and considerate and just a pleasure to have around, often going above and beyond what was required.
We felt comfortable leaving the house while they worked - knew we could trust them completely.
Project was completed in a timely manner, even though it was done during the Winter.
Dave kept a close eye on the project and nothing escaped his notice. Everything had to be perfect!
We are just thrilled with our new room and larger kitchen, and would definitely use this provider again.
