As stated in the above section, Downriver Plumbing did not do what they were paid to do. They promised to return the next day to replace the cap they sawed off and did not return or call.
Description of Work: Our basement drain was clogged. Downriver Plumbing unhooked my washer and washtub. Then they unplugged the drain and left the drain exposed after they had "sawsalled" the old cap off. They said they would put everything back in place. But they left everything like it was and said they would return the next day with the new cap. They did not return the next day and did not call or answer the phone when we called to ask where the new cap was. So we had to go to four different hardware stores to find the parts to replace the old cap.

Company distributed a flyer offering free video inspection of drain system. When they arrived they refused to provide the free service. I should have quit then, but I was having a toilet problem, so despite their lack of integrity I allowed them to look at the toilet. They took it all apart and replaced the wax ring. This had nothing to do with the backup I was experiencing, and did not change anything. When they put the toilet back together it was a sorry mess. It looked like a child had installed it. I requested that they return it to the original state. They refused, but said they would send someone the next day to make it look better. It not only looked like amateur work, it is now not cleanable and there is a constant buildup around the hideous kluge they created. I had many contacts and some visits to try to correct the situation. They were not responsive to phone calls. They did not keep appointments and were not at all helpful. I have photos of the toilet before and after. I have video of the work performed. They did clean up the spilled toilet contents and then tossed the sponge in my KITCHEN SINK. I had to replace the sink, as I could not adequately sanitize it to allow me to put my dishes in the sink. The plumber, purportedly the owner of Downriver, did not understand why I didn?t want toilet drippings in my kitchen sink.
