I was referred to this service by neighbor who was satisfied. I used an independent agent the previous year and questioned whether he actually did anything. Before that I used a professional service that jacked up the price by 50%! I plan on using Prescription lawn again - as long as price is reasonable

Per our annual contract, they came out fertilized the lawn and left.
(I believe I have recommended them before...but Angie, you asked.)
Prescription Lawn has been doing our, about one-acre, lawn since 2007 with the exception of 1 year we wanted to try it ourselves. Frankly, they do a better job and have the right spreaders and know-how of what to apply based on the condition of the lawn. I don't have to figure out what to buy, store, and mess with bags for fertilizers, spreaders, etc.
They are very lawn knowledgeable (MSU grad, if I recall), capable (have the equipment), and professional (tell you exactly what they will do and why). I have no real sense of 'promptness' as we have left it up to them to schedule applications and they adjust those depending on weather...like delays for rain.
They are concerned about over-spray and the environment, when using liquid, so as not to get it into our pond and polluting the water or damaging plants. I believe they mostly use time-release granules anyway to give a longer lasting effect. They check their work. Unbelievably meticulous, more than once, coming out and spraying a few dandelions if their overall pre-emergent Spring application did not get them. Finally, and why I hire them, the lawn looks great and I don't have to worry about it...just mow it..

They did a great job treating our almost 1 acre lawn. Knew what they were doing, were punctual and did a professional job of applying 'the stuff' and cleaned up afterwards. Based on the quality of our lawn and weeds, they at first started out with 4 applications during the year and we later reduced that to 3. I felt that their price was very fair. Lawn looked healthy, lush green and rarely a weed or dandelion. They were also respectful of our pond and not to get any chemicals in it.
They treated our lawn for many years, last one being 2010. I would not hesitate recommending them for a quality and professional lawn treatment service. I mow my own grass but they now may also do that part of 'lawn care.'.
Why did I stop using them after 2010? Well, my wife decided that she would try her hand at fertilizing the lawn and has done a pretty good job. When she tires of it, we will be right back with Prescription Lawns because we know of their quality work.

They are always timely in their applications and provide good coverage for my lawn (approximately 1.5 acres). Compared to purchasing fertilizer on my own and applying it, using Prescription Lawns doesn't cost much more with none of the work.

He charges per visit or pay and gives little discount on the service. I pay him yearly about $102 per application. I have little over acre of grass; so with the discount and to pay upfront, he does 6 applications per season. He is always on time. Every now and then he will ask if I have any problem or concerns about the yard. I like that because he just doesn't come and drill the stuff off and take on. He sees me out and I'm in house quite a bit because I'm retired; so he will ask me if everything is okay. I have already paid for the next season service.
