It was a husband wife team and they were fantastic - everything went well and they made any suggestions they could along the way while looking everything over.

I reviewed Angie's List prior to contacting HouseMasters. Based on the recommendation, I felt comfortable hiring them. It was a huge mistake in retrospect. The inspections findings were nothing out of the ordinary such as age of roof and age of furnace. Found a loose shingle and a loose piece of siding. Those were the major findings. So we went ahead and closed on the house. After we got into the house as the new owner we found violation after violation. Previous owner had built a roof over the original roof, left the roof with shingles in the attic. Now I have to pay someone to take it out. We found wiring everywhere not done correctly, the dryer venting out the roof (fire hazard at best), 3 layers of drywall covering LR ceiling, GFI plugs upside down/not wired correctly. It is going to cost us tens of thousand of dollars to correct the violations not found. We would not have acquired this housed if we had known all of this.

There are other significant issues but what is the point to list them all. Suffice to say, if you want a complete and thorough inspection I would not hire this company

From the initial phone call with Tom through scheduling and follow up I couldn't be happier.  I know Tom is the owner but I interacted with Bill the inspector.

The inspector provided a very detailed report after the inspection including photos and recommendations of his findings. I requested the service on a very short notice ( less than 24 hrs) and they were able to schedule an appointment. The inspection was very professional and thorough. I would recommend this service to anybody looking for a house inspection service.

HouseMaster Home Inspections had a good web presence. Their report was very detailed. When they had sent the report through online, the first one was good, this one was better. So I liked the online presence and report detailing of HouseMaster Home Inspections.

Bill was very attentive to detail.  Though his inspection, he found several minor problems, as well as a couple of very large problems.  Thanks to his inspection, I didn't purchase the home, and saved myself a very large head ache, and a very, very large sum of money.  This inspection was well worth the price, and I will be calling them for my next inspection!

Due to circumstances, I needed to schedule an inspection within 3 days. Not much notice for a service of this nature. After making a few calls, it was becoming difficult to find someone who could meet my demands. But HomeMaster came to the rescue, they were able to schedule an appointment the very next day. During the inspection, I was provided valuable insight which could have resulted towards costly repairs. Not to mention, I received my completed inspection electronically just a few hours later. Very impressed, they were truly great through out the whole process.

HouseMasters saved me!! The inspector I previously had lined up experienced a death and had to cancel. I found HouseMasters here on Angie's List. From the first phone call they were very kind. I spoke with Tom and he explained all that they would do for me. A couple days later, Rob came out for the inspection. He had arrived a few minutes before I did and he was already on his laptop setting up for the inspection. I was impressed by that. Rob asked if I would like to accompany him for the inspection. I declined, as I felt he would be more efficient if he worked on his own at his own pace. That worked well, as I was able to spend time talking more with the seller and my agent. (Both of whom were also very impressed with Rob's work.) After Rob was finished, he gave me an overview of his thoughts on the property--all good, by the way. He told me what things he found that needed correction. Rob also patiently answered all of my questions and kindly made a few suggestions as well.

Provider showed up on time, did a thorough inspection, sent us the information in an email. Punctual and professional. Scheduling was easy.

HouseMaster Rep came in to inspect our new home purchase. It was just to give us peace of mind, and they were very professional in explaining all the little things and sharing tips on the go.  They also provided with a free dvd on how to's for most basic home repairs as well. 

Gave us information that only a professional inspector could do.  Made us aware of all of the solid structural work and all of the things that would need attention, now and in the future.

It was great! He emailed the report later that afternoon, so we had results right away.  We talked on the phone, and he explained that some of the notes he made weren't full of urgent things.  Some were small things that were noted just so that we could be prepared in the future, things like the age of the hot water heater and the windows.  There were some big things, like the joists in the crawl space that had been cut, making the floor sag.  He went through what kind of work needed to be done to get it fixed the right way.  He talked as he went around the house, and there were things in his notes that we would never have noticed!  We had complete confidence in his report.

The inspector was there before we arrived and had already started the outside inspection. He encouraged my husband to walk with him and showed him everything he did. He was very personable and easy to understand and overall a nice guy. The inspection he did was thorough and he went over everything with us via his computer once it was complete. The copies of the inspection were provided to us via email.

I found this service on Angie's List and I am so happy I went with this company. Everything went smoothly I called to make an appointment and they got me right in the next day. Bill was my inspector. He was punctual and very thorough! He answered all my question and got into all the tight corners. At the end of the inspection he went through the whole report with me and answered all of my remaining questions. Before we parted he said that I would have my report by 4pm and at 3:50pm it arrived in my email box. They are friendly, affordable, punctual, and professional. I would recommend them to anyone and my real estate agent was even impressed and took his card.

Bill very great check all the nooks and crannies my agent who referred me to her guy but I didnot used was even impressed. The inspection report was awesome also as long as the appraisal comes in gave us thing we can do to the home to to resolvesome of the issues he.did find . I would definitely recommend

From the minute I made the phone call, House master was super efficient and professional, I spoke with Lois and she gave excellent customer service, was very detailed, answered all my questions before I could ask them, and because I was an Angieslist member got a $25 discount, so I ended up paying $290 ($315 is original cost)! Ease of scheduling was excellent.
Bill was our inspector and he was excellent as well. Very detailed and thorough (got into all the crooks and crannies). He was very patient and answered all my questions. He even gave tips and advice on how to fix things if need be. He took his time with the inspection and made this process super easy.

The experience was excellent. I was purchasing a home and he came in and did a very thorough home inspection. Everything he moved he put back where it was supposed to go and he put on special little carpet slippers to walk through my house; I thought that was considerate. He took a lot of time and explained everything to me so I would highly recommend him again.

Honored agreed to price, performed all inspection services as advertised/discussed, and provided even a more detailed report than expected including warranty/recal information on the installed appliances.

Overall, everything went great.

Punctual.  Thorough.  Was very detailed and informative.  Great inspection company.

The inspection was done on time and found a few things that we had to address (some by the seller)  The inspector gave us a detailed discusion on each item and pointed out the pluses of the house as well. Hw went on the roof, and into all attic areas. The report was fantastic.  Very professional and detailed.  The pictures he took of the problem areas made it easier to get contractors to quote (just sent them the digital pictures)   They also gave us a Recall report that chjecked to see if any appliances / equipement were on recall. The people who inspected the house I was selling did a very poor job compared to Housemasters.
