We have excellent results from the bilateral cataract surgery Dr. Bergman performed on my husband and myself approximately 1 year apart.  Neither of us suffered any complications.  The surgeries couldn't have been a better experience for either of us.  Dr. Bergman performed the surgery at the Lakes Surgery Center in West Bloomfield Township where the care was excellent.  Dr. Bergman's office staff is wonderful, very polite, friendly, and professional.  The pre-surgical details and planning are handled by his surgical coordinator, who was outstanding in explaining, scheduling, and supporting us through the entire process.  We have compared our cataract surgery experience with several friends who have had comparable surgeries by other Ophthalmologists at other surgery centers; none of them reported such professional and comprehensive care, while 3 reported complications such as infections and little improvement in their vision.  The improvement in our vision was incredible; while I was still in the operating room and Dr. Bergman was bandaging my eye, I was amazed at the improvement in my vision.  Excellent experience, excellent results.

Rechecked eyes. Ran several tests. Maintaining. No change from revious eye exam. To return in 3 months. All questions were answered and left feeling comfotable with the results and performance of everyone associated with this service.

I was greeted, completed my paperwork and was taken into an exam room where a staff member continued with the initial exam, asking questions, checking my prescription glasses and putting drops into my eyes. I was moved to a waiting area while the drops were allowed to work and then taken into another exam room where I was joined by Dr. Poretta. He had already reviewed my chart information and began to check my eyes. He added another drop into each eye and asked me a few additional questions, including if I had any thoughts on what may be causing the problem. I really appreciated his interest and consideration in my thoughts. He took another look, confirmed a diagnosis, prescribed medication and requested my return a few days later for a re-check.

Many thanks to his staff for their quick scheduling, which they did without hesitation and to Dr. Poretta. I believe his knowledge and expertise saved me from a more painful experience that may have led to further complications, and provided me with important insight should there be any future occurrences.

They deserve all A's in everything. I will recommend their practice to others.

As I have been Type 1 diabetic for over 30 years, I require annual checkups to make sure the diabetes is not affecting the blood vessels of the eyes. I have complete confidence in Dr. Porretta. His office and staff are friendly and efficient.

Doctor Porretta is a great doctor, but twice in the last two years I was a patient, one of this technicians injured one of my eyes giving a pressure test. Once it required treatment.

They did a thorough eye exam. The doctors there have good chair side manner and communicate well. The office staff is friendly and the office environment is clean.
