Brendan, Ryan, and their crews have always been on-time, honest, respectful of our home, provided quality work, and ensured we were satisfied with the results. McGlinch & Sons have transformed our 50+ year old house into an efficient, safe, and beautiful home. McGlinch & Sons have done the following projects in phases: installed skylights, front porch column replacement, water proofing a porch overhang, fireplace stonework, they replaced all of our windows and our old siding, and they replaced our black mold infested roof while fixing the root cause of the problem. Since our roof replacement two years ago, we've noticed the musty smell is gone and a significant improvement in the efficiency of our 50+ year old home. Excellent work installing our Pella windows McGlinch and Sons! Marvin, the sales representative, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable about what McGlinch offered for windows, as well as McGlinch’s other products. Marvin was well prepared for our meeting and understood our needs and our budget. McGlinch was the best price and provided great customer service. Ryan McGlinch and Marvin communicated with us during the entire process, which included window measurement, ordering of the windows, scheduling, and follow-up on the job completion, and were extremely responsive if we had any questions along the way. The window installers, Curt, Scott and Nick were, at all times professional and courteous, it was a pleasure to have them at our home. The installers arrived on time each day, worked diligently and took pride in their workmanship with great attention to detail. I would definitely recommend McGlinch and Sons in the future!

Incredibly unprofessional. I got a quote from the company and they gave me an offer to do the job for a little over $14,000. I accept that offer. Within the same day this company calls back saying it would be an additional $9,000 in labor due to the fact that I'm located in Hamtramck and the dumpster parking would be tricky. This issue was raised to the company well ahead of them offering the job at the proposed price. I'm surprised that a company who has been around as long as they have and are so reputable run their business this way.

They did an excellent job. Not only were they thorough and conscientious, but they cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous and careful when they were doing the work.

Take off particle board siding and replace it with James Hardie Siding. They did a very nice job.

McGlinch and Sons were OUTSTANDING to work with. I was a bit nervous and needed some "hand holding" and the entire team was so professional, cleaned up well and offered great design ideas although not really designers. I will use them for my bigger job the kitchen remodel. Only good things to say.

They were efficient and clean. They very helpful in guiding our decisions and so far it's been good. We haven't had any issues.

Didn't hire them. Just to get a quote from them was a strange experience and the manager there was very short with me, and would not let me talk.

My husband asked this company for an estimate for some work on the front of our house. He liked that they do work on all aspects of the exterior. We discussed what we wanted done with the house with Brendan on April 13th, and he gave lots of good ideas. He said he'd look into a few things and give some different options. After some time, we didn't receive an estimate so my husband emailed him and still didn't receive a response. With my urging, to give them the benefit of the doubt, he called the company several weeks later just to ask if they were still planning to provide an estimate. He said he would, again, but now it is mid-August and no estimate. I rate them a D just because he had some good ideas.

We have been having a recurring problem with a leak in the valley between a dormer and the roof. It had been repaired by another company a few years ago but when the old roof was taken off you could see that the repair was not done correctly. Brandon McGlinch came out and examined the roof and noted that since the roof was already 20 years old and it had been repaired in several places, it would be wiser to replace the whole roof. The following week they came out and replaced the roof and took extra care with areas where we were concerned about problems. The workmen were courteous, efficient and knowledgeable and we were extremely happy with the job. Unfortunately because of extremely bad weather they were not able to put the new gutters on until the following week. Again, the workmen were great and now the house looks terrific with the new roof and gutters. With McGlinch's 18 month no-interest financing we are able to handle the payments without a problem. I would definitely call them again and would recommend them to friends.

I had a skylight that was leaking and I decided to replace it since it was the original skylight and was 40 years old. The installers arrived on schedule in the morning. They were very professional and completed the job in a timely manner. There was no debris or trash left behind. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a skylight replaced. GREAT JOB!

I asked a visit and estimate for my house windows repair, which is usually free with other contractors. McGlinch & Son said they charge $250 to come and estimate for window repairs, or I send them pictures for them to estimate.

Different crews worked on roof, gutters and window trim. Inclement weather slowed down the roof replacement work but it was eventually completed. Craftsmanship was very good, especially on the window trim boards replacement work. I was happy with the work performed.

This roof has been a problem for many years, and McGlinch is the first contractor who actually recognized the problems and addressed them. We will definitely use them again, but I doubt that it will in the near future. Excellent work.

Brendan quoted several skylights and light tunnels for our home renovation. He seemed both knowledgable and professional. In the end, I decided to have a single light tunnel installed for about $1000. I contacted the company several times to have the job done but they never followed through. I finally gave up -- guess they weren't interested in the job after all.

I had a great experience with this company, they were professional and fast. I love the skylight and would recommend them to anyone. Job well done!

I called to request that someone come to my house to provide a quote for new siding and gutters. I was told by the person that answered the phone that the person who schedules those would call me back the following week. I never got a phone call. I called back several times and the line just kept ringing with no answer.

The provider apparently needed good weather conditions to do the work, however months went by with no follow up after the first appointment, in November was delayed. When they called-again in February to schedule, they later cancelled because the part had not been ordered apparently. Came out again in April, there was too uch water on the roof. Sam e issue in June. Finally, they gave me a date in June and the work was done. The work appears to be fine and the sun tunnel is beautiful. Because there was such a delay, I attempted to cancel and get my deposit back. However, I was told that the part had been ordered and that they would not be able to refund my deposit.

There were a few things that bothered me the more I thought about them. First, we were asked to pay the bill without any kind of invoice. We were given a verbal price over the phone and told to just send in a check for that amount. We refused and asked for an invoice for our records. I thought that was an odd way to do business. Then, I noticed that our rain gauge sensor for our sprinkler system had been removed when they replaced the roof, which is understandable. However, they didn't put it back up and forgot to tell us this. Our sprinkler company would have noticed it when they turned on the system for the first time and when we contacted McGlinch they did offer to replace it. When GAF came out to inspect and verify our roof met their certification standards they found that one of the cans McGlinch used was not the correct one. You would think their installers would know which cans have to be used to avoid another trip out to replace it. The biggest issue for me was that they did not pick up nails from our property. We have a small child and the last thing I wanted was her stepping on a rusty nail. We had to call them to come out and pick up nails, it's not something they do automatically. After they swept our property with a magnet I went over the ground again with a magnet and found several more handfuls of nails. So we called them to come out again and their response was that if you cupped your hands, the amount of nails that fit in your cupped hands is an acceptable amount to leave behind. I don't find that amount acceptable at all. Our roof looks wonderful and we are very happy with the product but there were too many issues for our comfort.
