Corrigan Moving Systems

I have moved several times, but this is the first time that the movers have damaged my belongings with intentional acts. There was some minor accidental damage when moving everything to storage, but the real issue was when everything was picked up at the warehouse and delivered to my new home:1) All of the wardrobe boxes were opened by the driver and the clothes dropped to the end of the wardrobes. Other boxes and loose garage items were packed in on top of the clothes. Suits/dresses/shirts all crushed and dirty, and items in the wrong rooms. 2) All of the plastic wrap on the upholstered furniture was removed at the warehouse before loading so that the delivery driver could "inspect for damage so he wouldn't be blamed" and we ended up with dirt/grease/damage on the furniture. 3) They did not have a full truck available, and so in order to "meet" the promised delivery date they split the shipment. I didn't receive much of what we needed until 3 weeks after we moved in. 4) There were missing boxes that were packed by Corrigan, and documentation that shows they were not received (we checked everything off!). Even so, they refused to compensate me for those items and said I would have to go to mediation if I didn't accept their settlement offer. In the early days, I spoke with the General Manager and was told that they would "look into" the problems and make an allowance for the services that I paid for but didn't receive (Wardrobes, wrapping, etc.) After 4 months, I decided to give up and take payment they offered rather than continue to argue with them - they were happy to just keep stringing me along rather than address the issues.The only thing that went "well" was that they didn't argue about paying for repair of floor and wall damage in my new home. When the best thing you can say about a company is that they were willing to compensate for part of what they damage, it is a sign you should choose a different company.

Had an unfortunate experience with Corrigan this Summer and I provide this information to make others aware of safety issues we had with Corrigan complying with their promise of keeping all safe during our move during COVID-19. They would wear face masks, and take recommended precautions to minimize risk. Was referred to Corrigan from family and friends who relayed they had good experiences. We were concerned of safety precautions in moving during COVID -19;and were assured by their salesperson as well as information given and on their website ,the entire crew would be wearing face masks as well as other measures. When the crew arrived at our old home and were not wearing face masks I asked the crew chief if they would be wearing them at which time another crew member told me he didn't even have a face mask. Crew chief then asked if in areas of the house where we were not present that this could be relaxed as it gets hot for the crew(high was 70 degrees that day) I was okay with this, until after a bit few if any of the five member crew were wearing face masks at all and they were now continually near my wife and I. Once they arrived at our new home I immediately spoke with the crew chief and told him we were not comfortable with them not wearing face masks at which point I was told that they never do. Additionally 2 of the 5 member crew absolutely refused to wear face masks. At this point I asked that this gets resolved as this was unacceptable. After about a 45 minute halt at which time I tried to reach our salesperson and talked with the move coordinator who again informed of what Corrigan's policy for COVID-19 safety measures is and crew would be wearing face masks. Their solution was to have the 2 crew members who refused to wear masks bring items from the truck to the front door. When I spoke with the general manager I was informed they would treat this like a move during the rain or heavy snowfall. So, I was to pay for potentially extended time and a 5 member crew,even though only three of them could fully work. I was assured by the General Manager this was how they would do this and the two crew members would not enter the house and accommodation they would make is to not charge me for 45 minutes the crew was idle-why would they charge me. Found this insulting at best. Once they started moving into the house the 2 crew members who refused to wear masks and as was told were to leave items at the front door did not comply and were coming into our home without masks in close proximity to us as we were directing where items were to be placed. After this fight all day to be protected safely I put this matter to rest other than sending our salesperson an e-mail the next day with a summation of this terrible experience and attached a picture of crew members not wearing masks while in my new home. Only at that point did Corrigan reach out and rather than deny it, acknowledged our safety concerns. They did give a discount on the move(never asked for ), unfortunately this did not make up for unnecessary stress due to the lack of safety on their part. Was told Corrigan 's moving personnel would be putting nto practice COVID safety procedures they promote to protect their customers. Only reason for posting this is I hope this never happens to anyone else.

Move went well, they sent a crew of 6 based on our needs. They were the highest big we had, but also the largest crew. I think my items would not have been moved properly with the other places I had quotes from. They were great with protecting our houses, furniture, and respectful.

The entire process went smoothly and wonderfully well. The team leader was cordial, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Both crews, on the pick-up and delivery sides, were great guys with personality and a LOT of hustle. I strongly recommend using their services.

They were careful with all of my possesions.

As for the move itself, everything was fine so we thought.  It was the post-move experience that really speaks to this company.  

1) They broke a glass shade for an expensive lamp by Ligne Roset.  This shade proved to be irreplaceable.  Ok, so stuff can happen on a move.  It's how you respond that counts Corrigan!

2) We think they purposely packed many expensive items from our Master closet into a specific wardrobe and then stole it.  They stole our personal items......expensive shoes, collectibles, clothing is missing in the $1000's in value.  

So as part of the claim process we were introduced to a lady with the title of "Customer Assistance".   Her title might as well have been "Customer Resistance".   Rude, condenscending, poor listening and intercommunication skills, just simply someone you would not want carrying that title.  It was clear that her sole role is to minimize their loss and fight our claim. 

Corrigan's proposal is to 1) pay us their researched purchase price of the lamp we purchased over 14 years ago.  The lamp is no longer available, shade is irreplaceable and the nearest similar item is 3x this value.  So we cannot replace the lamp for the amount they want to pay us on the claim. 

Their proposal for our stole items is to pay us nothing.   They simply say there was no record of these items being missing at the end of the move, and we hadn't noted this at that time.  THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF CARTONS!  There is simply no way we could have done a complete inventory of everything delivered prior to their crew of 5, who were in and out of our place for almost 4 days. left the job.  It's their word against ours. 

I guess their policy simply positions them to steal from their clients and then let their client try to claim and prove items are missing.  There is no substance to a claim with Corrigan.

Bottom line: If you want risk of having your valuable items stolen, choose Corrigan Systems out of Farmington Hills MI. 

Corrigan Moving Systems has handled our relocation on two separate occasions. We have looked at competitors and bid our moves, but hands down, recommend Corrigan. They have been prompt, professional and extremely detailed and punctual. This taking into account International relocation of household goods involving two fully furnished homes.
Of special mention was our account manager, Kristina Bader who handled our move. This is the second time we have been fortunate enough to have her manage our moves and simply can not say enough positive things about her. A consummate professional, great communicator, exceptional follow up and simply the best. 
In summary, highly recommend them.

Thank you Corrigan International; Your moving systems are nothing short of sensational; Relocation specialist Dobie Jenny; Meticulous singularly uncanny; Corrigan International wonderful absolutely infallible.

They did everything movers do, even fulfilled our request to have the same great packing crew and driver, Tom Weatherly thru United Vanlines for our return move. We were very pleased with all aspects of Corrigan's services. The driver had to arrange for a shuttle at both locations and find a place close by to be able to transfer to the hauler. The logistics of both our properties presented significant challenges that were successfully managed. We had absolutely no damage to report on our first move with them and only a few minor mostly cosmetic type issues on our return, so far... We are nowhere near unpacked yet. But I am confident everything will be fine or easy fixes. The whole crew was great to work with professional, caring and attentive to our needs and desires for what we wanted and where we wanted it. They really took great care of us and our stuff, lots and lots of stuff. Our load was near $25,000 lbs.


My only complaint is...and the irritation is compounded by having done this twice in such a short time period. Computer generated Surveys. Nobody likes them, but for something like this we do fill them out. Feedback is important. But a multitude of them are immediately generated automatically due to so many providers being involved. I see my email and I just say, "Ugh." I will do this review now, but all the others will wait a few more weeks. A little time to settle in would be nice, to unpack, transfer utilities, change email addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers and all of those little things, then you tie up loose ends like, surveys. But for the most part computers were demanding we complete surveys, not the people. 


Working with all the people at Corrigan has been great. We appreciated their excellent service. And, would we use them again? Yes, absolutely. Just not anytime soon please. I am tired, but happy to be home again.

The movers showed up promptly on moving day at our home. We had all of our boxes packed. They organized and packed our entire home on to the semi trailer in a professional manner. It was a gorgeous sunny day on this day.

The following day they arrived promptly at 8am again at our new house, just 30 minutes away from the old home. On this day it was a cold and blizzardy day, with accumulation throughout the day of approx. 10 inches of snow. They proceeded to work very hard and diligently to unpack and get us moved into our new home. Despite the conditions, the men persevered. They were respectful of the floors in our home, and made sure that all was covered and they tracked as minimal weather into our home as necessary.

Upon uppacking, and review of the moved furniture, nothing was damaged in the move.

All in all, the crew was great to work with.

Great services.  They showed up on the day of the move on time and were very professional.  They provided an overview of the services prior to the move as well as assisted in planning for the day of move.  On the day of the move they arrived on time and prepared our home for the packing and movement of boxes.   Moving team answered all questions.  They provided exceptional service in assisting us with unloading boxes to the right rooms as well as transferring boxes to our offsite storage location.  I would recommend their services and would us them again.

Very responsive, arrived on time and delivered items on time. Household items were delivered with no damage. Would definitely use this moving company again.

Excellent work . The crew packed and prepared my furniture for long term storage. They moved everything in containers and delivered to storage. The crew were great, friendly and efficient. I worked with several employees in storage, all were wonderful and very helpful. My storage containers were delivered on Oct. 6th by a 2nd crew. The gentleman contacted me several times, keeping appraised of their time and when they would arrive. This crew were also friendly and efficient. The move went smoothly on all points and I would use this company again as well as recommending them.

they were on time, did what they said, delivered when they said they would only minimal problems. I would use them again without thinking about it.

Went very well. Move was done over two days. Prior to move an assessment was done, with accurate charges. We did see a couple of boxes dropped off of the truck lift, before we left the storage site but thankfully nothing was damaged. Movers were friendly and professional, and helped us feel more comfortable during a stressful time. Move was completed as estimated, both in terms of hours and cost. Everything was delivered in good condition.

Went very well. 3 items had to be crated and a large wall unit completely unassembled. Everything was back together as if it was never moved

I liked everything about them. There were no complaints whatsoever. They were very professional with an estimate and then the driver was very trustworthy and the loading and unloading went well. They were maybe slightly more expensive, but we got a lot of similar quotes.
