Rob's Handyman Service

Ron's Hnadyman was almost two months late. He told me earlly on it was a simple job of time and materials not really giving me a total price. I thoiught that meant that it would be less than $800.00 quoted by the other handyman. Ron's spent maybe 20 total hours on the total job and charged me $960.00 for the labor alone plus $490,00 for materials or a total bill of almost $1500.00 for a simple job. I even provided the stain for the covering paint. That is $48.00 per hour. He comes off as a handyan and charges a professional biilders price. I have not paid him as of yet. He started calling me the day after he completed the work asking for his money. He never sent me a detailed billing for the labor or the materials. He is a theif as far as I am concerned. I had this house totally stained by a professional painter and his total billing was only $1100.00 and it took him two weeks to stain this house. I am totally p***** amd am about to drag Ron's into court. Ron's has not as of yet sent me a detailed billing. When he does I will decide what I am going to do. I would never hire him again and will never recommend him to anyone else.

After the work was completed, I said to him, "It does not feel right." The floor was higher where it met the other rooms. He said, "It would settle in and be fine." Later I realized there was another weak spot left, so I started calling him. I called him several times and he did not return the calls. He did stop by once and said that he "would try to think of a way to fix it." I finally contacted his wife to try to resolve this. We are neighbors which made this very uncomfortable for me.  I had a trusted carpenter fix the floor recently and asked Rob's wife to talk to him about working this off by plowing my driveway this winter. His wife blew me off for another month. I saw her this morning, she said he would not pay for the floor but would still plow. I told her absolutely not and I would be sueing. I of course got a call from Rob after that. He insulted me by first saying that my home was a "throw away home" that would continue to have problems. He had also worked in my bathroom and I had to have him come back several times to reshim the tub. He again insulted myself and my husband by saying that the tub was not made for "two larger people to be in it." We are not small people but certainly not obese. Do not hire this man for any work. He is clearly unehtical, doing poor workmanship and not standing behind his work as well.
