Michiana Construction

My husband and I hired Ron (owner of Michiana Construction LLC) for a tub/shower replacement in January of 2024. We picked out and paid for the tub we wanted from Menards and he picked it up, had one of his guys tear out our old tub/shower combo and install the new. My husband asked him if we would need some support under the new tub but Ron assured us it would be fine. He said he had done many of these installs before. They painted the bathroom for us also for a total of $3,000 which we paid in cash upon completion of the job. They did it pretty quickly, which we were happy about, but the quality of work was very poor. They installed the tub/shower improperly and come to find out, it DID need more support under it because 6 months later it had a crack in it and was leaking again! Ron offered to get another tub and reinstall it (which he never followed up on), but after the experience we just had, there was no way we were going to let them install another tub for us!

DO NOT HIRE. Last April 2023, I hired Ron (Ronald) Jackson, owner of this company. He was to put in a three- season room for $28k . I am a single parent, my house is from the 1950â s. I have been slowing working on fixing it up. My daughter and I were looking forward to this addition. I am very type A and knew exactly what I wanted and didnâ t . All discussions with Jacksons about my needs were done prior to payment. I paid Jackson $20k upfront (I know now that was stupid) to begin work. He told me work couldnâ t start till end of May due to a church project he was finishing up. I said fine, as long as it is done by the end of August, before my daughter goes back to school. Well, Jackson had every excuse in the book. Even though, he cashed my check on May 19 not even 24 hrs after it was written, nothing was done till July. I get back from vacation at the end of July to find the work that was promised had not been done. Cement had not been poured, walls had not been installed. I ended up hiring a lawyer to try and get Jackson in compliance. We even sat on the phone for two hours writing up a step by step guide for him on what was to be done, and he still didnâ t do it. He had every excuse in the book, â he was busy, he was working on his basement , it was too hotâ on and on. The job ended with him digging a whole and pouring cement that was too high and will now cost $8k to fix He never called the city to come prior to pouring or after to inspect (which is the law) He wanted an additional $8k on top of the contract agreement and stated that I would need to pay for the windows etc on my own. This guy is not honest, this guy is a con artist. His LLC was dissolved in 2020 after a previous lawsuit. He was not part of the BBB until after August 2023 when we made h aware that he was never part of it. This nightmare is still going on. A lawsuit was brought against him, he agreed to sign a settlement for the full amount. He and his lawyer changed the dates of payment to give him more time and he still never payed. This man thinks he is above the law above any binding legal agreements. I will get my money back, itâ s already being taken care of. Let my story be a warning to you, about this company and this man.

They replaced my roof. They gave me a very competitive quote, we worked out the details of the deal. They started the job right on time, worked around the rain, and every step was just perfect. I cannot believe how good it looks. I respect them, they way they do business, the work they did and I would recommend them highly. nice job Roger.

Took too long to get the job done, poor communication between contractors and workers. Lots of details unattended. Overall a real disappointment.

The were pleasant to work with and eager to offer help with other problems around the house. It turned out that they focused more on keeping water out in the future than on cleaning up the water that had already come into our house; we unexpectedly had to hire a separate team for the cleanup.

They responded promptly, worked within my budget, completed the work when they said they would. Couldn’t be happier with the job they did!

Ron and his crew were so great to work with! They do exceptional work! We love how it all turned out and we have a beautiful new bathroom. All of these guys take pride in what they do and it shows. They are honest and hardworking men who I will gladly have back to do another bathroom. I highly recommend Michiana Construction!
