Shannon Bennett assured me that his crew could handle all of the necessary portions of the work, unlike some of the other concrete people I had received estimates from for just the patio and steps. Bennett Construction is a family owned business, and the contractors' father and at least one other family member worked with the crew to demo the old railings and existing patio surface, prepare the forms, and finally pour the new patio. The entire job took roughly two and a half days, the crew was easy to get along with, worked hard, and exceeded my expectations. The original plan had called for the removal of old slate tiling from the existing patio, but due to it being stubborn, and the sub-structure in poor condition, Bennett offered to pour a entirely new cap over the entire patio (at no extra charge), and it turned out beautifully!
The crew was very clean, courteous, and as the patio was beginning to set, they ever offered to let the kids put their hand prints and names into the concrete, which was an awesome touch. My wife and I love the work Bennett construction did, the backyard is much more accessible now, the state the repair work they did to the siding after removing the old steel railings makes the house look even better than when the old porch was there! We will gladly be hiring Bennett Construction for our future home improvement and construction needs.
