I've been with them for so long, I can't compare them with the others. I'm happy price-wise. I think they do a good job and are responsive. If I ever get a problem about them not getting out all the weeds, all I have to do is call back two or three times.

Placed phone request for services and explained what I needed. Despite all the rain we had been having, 2 workers arrived within a week and completed the job in about 6 hours. Looked great when they were done.

I have been using them sice we built our house in 1983. If I have any problems I call them and they come right out.

My husband contacted this company and asked to have front portion of the lawn completely redone. We had a spurge/weed problem and dry/brown patched from the year before, when the lawn had been totally neglected by the previous owner prior to selling the house to us. We decided that we wanted the damaged portion of the lawn completely redone, either tilled or sodded. In hindsight, we should have educated ourselves by reading online what a new lawn entails: rounding up all the existing plants (old grass, weeds, everything), tilling, then grading and seeding. Instead we relied on the professionals to give us a quote and propose work that would address what we needed. The quote was for the services described above, for a price of $625, which we negotiated down to $500. Little did we know that and quot;top dressand quot; means simply dumping new soil on top of the existing lawn, including weeds and old dry grass, and then seeding it, which is what they did. We would not have minded paying more, but it seems that what we needed would have entailed making 2 or 3 trips: one to round everything up, and another to till and seed. They thought it would be easy to make a quick buck by coming out once and taking advantage of some idiots that didn't ask enough questions to make sure they understand the services they're getting. And a quick buck they made, because throwing some bricks into a truck and spending a couple of hours spreading soil, grading and seeding is not worth $500 in our opinion. We had to call them to come back and do the same work on some patches they overlooked, and then another time to spread the moisture retention stuff. (Granted, we were told that they ran out of the jet spray and had to order more, but we wonder if they would have come back at all if we hadn't emailed to tell them that we'll send them a check after the jet spray is put down.)
We had concerns regarding how the new grass will establish itself when the spurge/weeds are already there and when we are watering the lawn copiously (perfect conditions for the weeds to grow). They responded by pointing out that they quoted us a lawn care program (fertilizer/weed control) and that had we elected those services as well, they would have taken care of the weeds. In our view, these were additional services that were not included our initial request - a lawn care program has nothing to do with redoing the lawn.
In any case, it's been a couple of weeks now, the new grass is sprouting in patches, and the weeds are also getting stronger. It is impossible to get the spurge out with a trowel because it is very small and low to the ground and it is intertwined with the new grass, so getting it out means damaging the new grass, which is exactly what we were afraid of and the reason we wanted the lawn redone in the first place, so we could get rid of those pesky weeds once and for all and start from scratch.
All in all, we made the mistake of not making sure we discussed all the details of the work and were ripped off in the process. So ask detailed questions and make sure you understand what you're paying for, because the professionals are not looking our for your best interests.
