Lawn Service
We had three tall 30 foot pine trees in the front of our property which needed removing, as they were too close together, as well as too close to our water main and house foundation. Additionally, we had another three very tall cottonwood trees that were posing a danger in our backyard, as they were sickly and being over 60+ feet, would sway quite a bit in high winds. We knew that due to the positioning and height of the trees that this would be a considerable job, so we had solicited quotes from four vendors.
One vendor, who specializes in tree removal, did not want to do the 60 foot ones in the back, but was eager to remove the three front yard 30 foot pine trees, as he said it would give him good money for the wood. Needless to say, we did not go with him. Another vendor wanted upwards of $4,000, although they were respected in the industry and it did not seem unreasonable. We did not go with this vendor due to price, plus they were slow to respond. Another vendor wanted $1,000. This would seem like a good deal, but this made us nervous as the job was extensive and we knew it would need sufficient equipment, insurance and manpower, so we were skeptical. We went with Stacey, due to him being very organized, responsive, and a middle of the road quote, which included a $600 discount if we did all the trees at once, as opposed to having him come out two separate times. He assured us he was licensed and insured, and would have a good crew.
The process took two days. He did arrive with a full crew, as well as tractors and chippers to handle the trees. I will say this: the job itself was very dangerous. We can't tell you how nervous it made us to see men jumping up trees with chainsaws, and cutting them down near your house. You worry for your home as well as the contractors. Stacey and his men were wearing protective gear, and seemed cautious with the difficult job. They clearly knew what they were doing, and seemed organized.
One of the issues with one of the tall cottonwoods was that it bordered on our neighbor's fence. He did warn us it may cause damage to their fence, but that they would try to avoid it. In the end, one panel of their 25 year old wood fence did fall. I am sure this disturbed the neighbors, but I am also sure that they might have been happy that the sickly 60 foot tree was removed as well. In the end, Stacey talked it over with the neighbor, and arranged to have his fence repaired shortly thereafter. We were very happy that he took care of this. The repaired fence panel looks great.
Overall, we were very pleased with the organization, professionalism and price for this project. We know it was not an easy task. Stacey was also personally very responsive in person and email regarding project status and updates. We are pleased that we used him, and would definitely recommend using him for lawn/garden/landscaping/tree removal.

Lawn Service
Stacy was very prompt in providing a quote and performed the work a couple of days later. He and his team got the job done quickly and well. They did a great job trimming the bushes, including one that had gotten way out of hand. He also provided me a quote for some additional lawn maintenance that was very reasonable. I think I'll be calling him again.
