The previous homeowner attempted his own repairs and only made the problems worse. The basic work on resurfacing the flat roof was pretty straightforward. The challenge was to provide drainage without installing gutters. Exposed guttering would have spoiled the look of the house. Their solution was to build hidden gutters around the roof. They did this by fabricating sheet metal soffit and fascia that matched the color of the house, which enclosed the guttering system. The sheet metal guy was a master of his craft. He was able to deal with a number of structural defects. Unless you knew what work was done, you'd never notice it. The runoff now goes where it was intended to go, and most importantly, my wife is now a happy woman!
As it turned out we had a couple of other minor issues with the pitched roof elements and they took care of that at a very reasonable cost as well.
The guys were always on time, extremely friendly and efficient and did a great job of cleaning up all through the process. The whole job was completed in about 2 weeks. If there was an issue, Adam would consult with me before proceeding. At the end of the project, the total cost came in at bid, and under the contingency we planned for.
I would solidly recommend Modern for any roofing needs. Simply, they were great!
They did a good job. The snow was so high it looked like the roof might cave in. I called them, and even though they were extremely busy during this difficult winter, they were able to come out within 48 hours which I felt was outstanding.
