Scott D Koch Architect LLC

We hired Scott Koch as the architect for the kitchen remodel on our recently purchased home. Scott was the original architect on our home when it was built in 2000. Scott was highly professional, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about his craft. We went into the project with some strong ideas of how we wanted to use our new space and Scott used his extensive knowledge to make our ideas become a reality. He paid particular attention to detail and to the flow of traffic inside and outside our home, along with the overall aesthetics and function of the space. He was also extremely effective in influencing the interior designer we were working with. His suggestion to open up the great room to the kitchen, part of his original design for the house that had not been implemented by they previous owners, turned out to be an inspired idea that has transformed the living space, providing tremendous light into the great room as well as views to the outside. Scott provided timely and beautiful hand drawings for the project manager and was compelling and engaging in the way he described his original concepts for the space. In summary, we are delighted with the outcome of our renovation and it would not have happened without Scott's skill and vision.

The process went extremely well and Scott did an excellent job.  From the initial visit, Scott brought great insight into the design by identifying the 'traffic flow' for the usage of the space in our home.  He was able to bring a fresh perspective into the design and identify issues that we hadn't considered.

We met a couple of times in order to be aligned with the scope of the project.  Through this stage of the design, Scott developed sketches of his ideas while working towards the final design.

In the end - we received a designed blue print that we could provide to our builder to quote and build.  This eliminated any surprises during the build stage and allowed the project to be completed within (5) months.
