Description of Work: The work was done back in Spring of 2005. Dispute over corner of basement leaking water/moisture. Pitters said water leaking in corner of basement was from the window well area. The contract shows that the window well was to be waterproofed (and we paid for)and they disputed the fact that they waterproofed the window well area. The issue was never resolved despite the fact the written guarantee from Pitters states "the areas that have been waterproofed are guaranteed that no water or moisture will come through the basement walls for a 10 year period from the date the waterproofing was done". This same contract we had Pitters make new window well grates - they were too small - a lot of static from Pitters before that was corrected, but it was corrected unlike the moisture in the corner of the basement that Pitters had "waterproofed". The willingness from Pitters to correct a problem was unprofessional and lacking. Buyer beware!
After two harsh winters our walkway and driveway needs repair. Called Pitters twice to get Phil or someone to come out and look at the project. They never came out. Obviously they don't have time for small projects, even for longstanding customers. Very disappointing :( Wish I could recommend them, but I can't.
Description of Work: We used Phil Pitters to install a new driveway, bluestone patio and front walk back in 2005. Later used them to reseal driveway.

Medium quality work. Horrible responsiveness. They wouldn't call back when there was a problem. I recommend holding back most of their money until 100 percent completion or you will never see them again if there is a problem. We had a big problem with the sealer they recommended and installed. Michelle Pitters was very nasty when I told them about the problem. They ignored the problem. After three projects and $19000 spent with them, we will never use them again and I recommend customers avoid them.
Description of Work: Driveway, brick patio, tuck pointing
Pitters provided excellent service for this complex project which required lifting and leveling the two car garage, breaking up and removing the old concrete, installing a solid foundation and pouring new concrete and setting down the garage on new footings for a price of under $3000. They showed up on time, were responsive to phone calls and questions and worked tirelessly to get the job done in short order. The second phase of the project was even more complex as they worked with me to install a "green" driveway. This is an idea that I had researched independently, that is installing a grass surface that would support vehicle traffic instead of the traditional concrete or asphalt driveway. I found a company in Canada (Green Innovations) that manufactured the foundation grid required and hooked them up with Pitters to have this done. They took care of ordering the materials and dealing with an customs regulations and having them shipped to their yard, saving me the additional delivery fee that would be necessitated if delivered to a residence. Since this type of thing had not been done in this area before and Pitters had no experience in doing it and therefore didn't know precisely how to price it, some negotiation was involved but they agreed to a lower price from the initial estimate as it might serve as a demonstration project for future work. (I have since had inquiries from several neighbors and folks just passing by) In every respect my dealings with this company have been completely positive.
Description of Work: Replaced concrete floor in garage and constructed new "green" driveway

Description of Work: Replaced front walkway with exposed-aggregate walk. Replaced portion of driveway. Their workmanship was first class. There were drainage problems with the previous walk, and Pitters solved all the issues. |

Awful experience. Workers poured cement and left their boot prints all over driverway. Sealant on cement was uneven and splotchy, with sections completely unsealed. Contacted owner and owners wife and they claimed they were not responsible. We did not pay out remaining balance since they refused to fix their faulty work. They then put an improper lien on our home, which we have since had removed. It had been a year and a half and the cement is severely pitting. It was an awful job and the owners are completely unprofessional. Would never use or recommend this company.
