Animal Boarding Kennels
This company does in fact except ALL BREEDS. Does not matter it it's a pit, staffy or whatever. If the dog is not aggressive it can go through the evaluation process.

Really like this doggy daycare!! I have yet to use for boarding but for daycare my dog pulls me inside!
Some of the things that set this place apart from others,
1) Love that it is a local business that started up in Detroit first
2) Love the daily pictures posted. Lets me see (and save to look at later!) how my pup is doing when I can't use the web cam.
3) Staff is overall very nice. Knew my dog by name after one visit.
4) Lots of play structures, even kiddy pools, for the dogs to play on vs just running around with eachother.
5) Collar free play puts me at ease knowing my dog won't get caught on another's collar
6) Has a lot to offer other than just day care such as evening and quot;indoor dog park, and quot; and quot;drinking with the dogsand quot;, training, leash walks in Detroit ( would love if this came to Ferndale also).
7) Offer a puppy program, which if you plan to use day care more than one or two days a week would be a GREAT deal.
8) Ferndale location is great. Close to the highway, makes getting to work after dropping my dog off a piece of cake
9) Decent sized outdoor area. My dog loves the sun so this is a must!
10) Very integrated into social media. Post a lot to their facebook page, pictures, dogs of the day, etc. (Great for keeping up on my phone while on the go)
11) Report cards are very cute at the end of a day. Aside from that at pick up they usually tell you how your dog did (if he played a lot, etc. which I like) vs. just handing him off to you and leaving
12) Don't require neutering/spaying until 9 months. I was so happy to find a place that my dog was allowed to play before he was neutered. So many other places don't allow it.
Cons:
1) A bit more expensive for boarding than other places. Pick up must be early AM the next day or you pay for the next day of play also. Other places have included the day before and after or at least allowed for noon pick up. For day care, every 5 minutes after closing that you are late to pick up would also be $5. Aside from this it is the same. Comparable in that I don't believe they charge extra if your dog needs medication.
2) Wish there was a phone app for the web cams (would pay for access!) I can't usually take advantage of the web cam feautre as when my dog is in daycare/boarding I am usually out and about without computer access
3) Wish my dog got a report card after every visit!
4) Wish the Ferndale location offered cage free boarding for the night time as well.
5) Would love if there were longer Sunday play hours. But I have yet to hear of any other doggy day cares that offer a full day of play on Sundays.
If you are looking to tire your dog out for the day or just can't bear the thought of him stuck inside on a sunny day while you have errands or are at work, this place is perfect! I especially love the half days. It is more than enough to tire my dog out, cost efficient, and gets him out running and playing in the sun when I just don't have that much time on my hands to go to the park for hours!

My dogs adore Canine to Five and so do I! This business represents EVERYTHING that an amazing small business should be: involved, hands-on ownership, caring, well-trained staff, excellent facilities (both inside and out) and an incredible range of services at better-than-reasonable rates. Because everything is well done, it's difficult to choose where to start. Owner Liz Blondy opens her business nearly everyday and that attention to detail shows in how it runs. The staff is well-mannered and professional and many have dogs who come to work with them, so it's truly a family environment for your pet. Boarding is excellent too and I often refer to my pup's time in their kennel as her spa vacation. I've also used their training and grooming services and these were/are top notch too. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Canine to Five to anyone in need of any or all of their services. If you love your dogs, this is the place for them!

They did a very good job. I like that they were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. When they are not being groomed, the dogs are able to roam in a large area. My dog even seemed to have a good time!

They have an incredible staff who does a great job interacting with the dogs. They have excellent rates and offer different packages. This is a great place for my dog to socialize and interact with other dogs, as opposed to other facilities where they are in a pen all day. My dog is is very played out by the end of the day, which is favorable. It's a wonderful price for the amount of service that they give. They also do dog training with small classes and great prices. They have wonderful hours, 6:30 am - 7:30 pm.

I have been taking my dog here for about 2 years. An outstanding place! Nice indoor and outdoor play areas for dogs. Staff have wonderful people skills and all are great with dogs. My dog loves going there. I buy the 20-day package to save a little bit. $19 a day sounds kind of steep, but that's from 7A - 7:30 PM, and they offer half-days as well. When we go out of town, it is so reassuring to know that she spends almost no time in a cage and she's with her second family.

I was so excited - finally a doggie day care right in my own neighborhood! I have two dogs, one an American Staffordshire Terrier who had been in doggie day care for at least 3-4 years in one of Detroit's suburbs, and a rescue of unknown breed that had come to us about a year before. I was really anxious to explore other job opportunities, but had to stay near the day care facility, as I didn't have the heart to pull them out. I drove up, jumped out of the car, ran in, and sure enough there was the owner. Being a nurse I was concerned about the flexibility of hours, as we sometimes start early and/or work late. She told me she didn't think that would be a problem. Then came the blow: No American Staffordshire Terriers! Also no Pit Bulls, Akitas, nor Chows. Never mind that my beloved AmStaff had been a successful day care attendee for years, and has always done very well with other dogs. Needless to say I was heartbroken.

Job 1: My dog, Lucy, needed more exercise and interaction and I needed a boarding kennel closer to home (downtown Detroit). Canine to Five opened and I tried it out. Lucy loved it. She runs around with the other leash free dogs all day. The other services like boarding and grooming are great also. Lucy comes home tired and happy, and it lasts the entire week. When I was gone for almost 3 weeks I boarded Lucy with Liz, and got email updates and pictures from her on a regular basis. If Liz notices anything amiss about your dog while they are with her, she'll email you or call you. They open at 7 in the morning and stay open until 7 at night (for working people). This is a great place and a much needed service in downtown Detroit. Job 2: My dog LOVES this place. Owner is caring and professional. Training also available.
