We we're looking at a complete kitchen renovation and found ourselves at once overwhelmed and frustrated. Where do you start with cabinets? You can take a look to the big box stores, kitchen specialty shops, contractors, or cabinet specialists. We tried them all and could never reconcile selection, cost, flexibility, service or leadtime. On a whim, we decided to check out Cabinets to Go in Dearborn (honestly not expecting much). We met Alex Dye during our first visit and never looked back. We found a few potential models/color we thought would work and literally within minutes Alex had taken our kitchen dimensions and was able to provide 3D renderings, which helped us quickly come to a decision. Even more so, Alex came up with some great functional ideas we otherwise would have never incorporated. The price, service, design and delivery timing we're tremendously better than any of the alternatives we pursued.
There we're several late nights (hours after closing), I spent in the store with Alex/his team and countless e-mails/calls back in forth before we made this huge purchase (how they did not lose patience with us I don't know) but we are extremely happy with our new kitchen and would recommend this store to anyone.
A couple things to keep in mind:
- You will have to assemble the cabinets yourself + the directions leave something to be desired. Patience will be a virtue. However, the Cabinets to Go staff may be able to provide a 3rd party assembler/installer for additional charges (I think it was like $10 a cabinet assembled or $50 a cabinet assembled/installed).
- Delivery is not included but the Cabinets to Go staff can organize a 3rd party (about $50).
- There can be a restocking fee if you need to return any undamaged cabinets...
- I did have a few fit/finish quality issues but the staff stood behind their product and always came through for me.
