Stone Vision Landscape

Awesome experience -- highly recommend!  I contacted Stone Vision on October 30 and they came out the same day to give me an estimate on a patio to replace an old deck.  The estimate was half what another company had given me, and Jason said they would be able to start the following week to get the work done before freezing temperatures arrived.  After discussing with my husband I called Nov. 2 to have the work done.  That was a Monday and on Thursday Jason and his partner started work.  Even though there were complications due to the site not being level and the adjoining sides of the house not being square, they finished on Saturday with the help of a third worker.  That was yesterday and the patio is beautiful!  Not only that, but Jason gave me a 5% discount for paying in cash, which meant that the total cost was less than the estimate!  Do not hesitate to call this company -- you will be glad you did!

We found Jason here on Angie's list back in March/April time frame for a good amount of work we knew we'd want done in the late Spring/Early Summer months.  When we called for an initial quote, Jason was out on a job in OH at the time, but was still able to send somebody out to talk with us about what we'd like done, take measurements and provide a rough estimate within a week.  We ended up waiting to finalize services until after he was able to make it out in person since some of the measurements and pictures made things seem a little different than they really were.  After that, we finalized on a rough price and got on Jason's calendar for the early parts of June, where he even was able to move us up a week given the weather patterns and other jobs.
In summary here is what we liked:
-Prompt service - we called months ahead of time, expecting that there might be a back-log during the timeframe we were looking to get things done
-Excellent follow-up via email and phone
-Took the time to listen and help us plan out exactly what we wanted vs. just trying to sell us services we don't need
-Actually LISTENED to what we were looking for and offered several options for accomplishing what we wanted with both the landscape edging and our retaining wall.  We had called other service providers for this and were basically told if we don't know exactly what we want (size, shape, height) that they can't help.  He even talked us out of some much more expensive (lucrative for him) options for our edging.
-Was prompt, showing up when promised
-Cleaned up well
-Actually cares about the quality of the work being done - in my experience, THIS IS RARE.  A lot of companies send out the cheapest crew they can find so they can turn a job and move to the next... this is NOT Jason.  He, as the owner, showed up personally with one person he trusts and has worked with for years and did all of the work himself.  We even had to change plans partway through the build-out of the retaining wall, where instead of making an assumption and adding another course of bricks, he explained in detail what was going on and asked us what we wanted
-Craftsmanship and above and beyond.  Jason did not cut corners or perform any sup-par work.  He cut stones that he was hoping to not have to cut in order to leave a seamless professional looking wall.  He even went as far as helping us transplant some sod that we were removing for the retaining wall so we wouldn't have to plant seed.  He accommodated our request to work with our irrigation provider on running some PVC underneath the wall so the sprinkler line could be added afterwards.  He had to remove some existing landscaping rocks and dirt for the garden wall and instead of hauling it away asked if we wanted it moved to another area of the yard instead, which we did.
Pricing
-Jason provides estimates, in the literal sense of the word.  While some people may not like this, we did because Jason was 100% honest with us up front about this and how he prices.  He estimates what your cost will be, then provides a final cost based on actual materials upon completion.  Obviously, the goal is to provide as accurate of an estimate as possible, with the understanding that sometimes things change or don't go quite as planned, thus changing the cost.  For example, our job ended up coming in a little bit lower than originally estimated, but could have gone in the upward direction as well.
Overall this is one of the best experiences my wife and I have had with a service provider.  Stone Vision is a cut above the rest and will be our go-to provider for our brick and landscaping needs henceforth.

Jason is very good at what he does.  He came promptly (in March) when we first called him and spent a lot of time with us. He gave us realistic estimates and explained options to us.  He came to do the job on time and always called if there was a delay.  He was very easy to work  with and we are VERY happy with our new front entrance.  I gave a B on cost because it was more than we had planned to spend, but definitely worth it.

Stone Vision was prompt for the initial assessment of the measurement of square footage.  He verified different costs with different priced pavers.  He also made an extra visit to my home to gauge my response to certain pavers, by displaying them in his truck bed.  He offered catalogs and discussed paver patterns.  He telephoned me several times, an indication of his reliable follow-up and ability to schedule his calendar of bookings.  I didn't have to wait an extreme amount of time, probably 3 weeks, which wasn't bad at all.  
He created lovely curved lines in my paver path which encompassed a smaller patio.  My decision to use Rustic Red, with Graphite soldiers which outlined the Red, was beautiful.  Upon my suggestion, he utilized different sized pavers in random, Running Bond, and the off-set lines were beautifully plotted.
The pavers were set tightly, perfectly sloped, and custom cuts were precise.  The job was pure perfection by master craftsmen.
My two patios, joined by a winding sidewalk that expanded toward the garage, miraculously made my yard look twice as large.
He sodded adjacent areas to the sidewalk, leaving several inches so that I could plant my flowers on both sides of the sidewalk.  As Treasurer of the Garden Club of Dearborn and Garden Columnist of the Heritage News, I'm definitely obsessed with gardening, especially now being retired.  I've appreciated Jason's input and recommendations, and he also responded by creating a stunning garden landscape plan that incorporated both of our views
Lastly, I was on a budget.  I could not afford my first two estimates which were on Angie's List.  Stone Vision respected my budget and gave me an excellent quote.  He even went beyond, and replaced my wood flag pole which was rotted.  He secured a darling  bird-house which I purchased, on the top of the pole, secured a bracket for my banner, and attached two wrought iron hangers for my hanging basket of flowers and windchimes.
I highly recommend Stone Vision Landscape and give them high honors for quality of work.  It was a pleasure to interact with the crew.

Jason came on one day and did the lawn aeration.  After the job was done he cleaned up the sidewalk and driveway so there were no dirt "plugs" left anywhere on the property.  The only evidence that he was there were the aeration plugs on the lawn.  We got heavy rains after the aeration and the lawn "took off".  The lawn is green and full thanks to the incredible job he did.
A few days later he came over and put mulch in the back yard (around a large planting bed).  It had been a couple of years since I had gotten around to doing it so it needed a lot of mulch.  I normally only need 2 yards of mulch to "top off" the mulch but this time it took 5 yards to fill in the beds and top them off.  He made to trips with his dump truck and stuck with his original bid and simply charged for the mulch and labor (no additional delivery charge).  The beds were filled in perfectly.  He made sure the entire site was cleaned and returned to the same or better condition than when he started.
Jason has done paver work for me in the past and the quality of his work is a known quantity for me.  I wouldn't hire anyone else for landscaping or paver work.  He is on time.  He cares about the quality of his workmanship and treats each job as if it were his own house.
I would highly recommend Jason and Stone Vision Landscaping to anyone considering paver or landscaping work.

Jason responded to me within minutes of leaving him a message (the first time I called him).  He came out the next day and gave me an estimate.  I had three estimates done.  One was very high, the other two were similar, but Jason would also do the landscaping work repairing our yard and the other contractor was strictly brickwork.  Jason was very nice and answered all of my questions and gave me suggestions for what would look good.  He got us on his schedule very quickly.  Jason and his crew did a great job and did it quickly.  We were very happy with his work.  We were able to use bricks that had been taken out when the addition was put in.  When the job was done, it actually cost us less than the original estimate.  Jason actually adjusted his bill down to reflect the items in the estimate that ended up not being needed.  In the end, we paid over $500 less than his estimate!  I found him to be very honest and hardworking.  I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The job went very well. The workers removed and aligned many pavers to level the surface and to replicate the geometric pattern of the entire patio. I liken it to a mosaic endeavor because the edges of the patio are curved. They used crushed s*** to ensure that the pavers would remain in place and not shift when it rains, etc.
I was impressed by the number of pavers removed and reset to achieve the excellent end result. There was considerable physical labor involved to complete the job in a relatively short time span. Jason (the owner) and his assistant are dedicated hard workers and gentlemen too. The amount of work and the quality of the results represent a great value to me. From the border edging to the final cleanup, everything was well done. I give Stone Vision Landscaping my highest recommendation, they display not only the ability to do the work, they also possess the artistic talent necessary to accomplish the task.

Jason came out and explained the construction process, and answered all of  my questions. He gave me a time frame for completing the project, and the patio was finished on time. We had a problem getting the pavers that I wanted, but Jason worked with the supplier and helped me decide on another paver option. The patio looks great, and I would be happy to work with Stone Vision Landscape again.

Excellent experience. Jason kept in constant contact with me. He suggested changes and/or enhancements to the project He also went beyond the scope of the project and agreed to put up two sections of fencing and concrete work around the perimeter of the pavers. All the enhancements/changes ((many that I suggested) only resulted in a $700 difference in overall price. The weather was a constant problem in the project but Jason worked around it and always kept me aware of changes when he wouldn't be able to do any work. The estimate was very detailed and all changes were detailed as we moved along through the job. He kept his work area very clean and cleaned up after every day of work. I can't stress enough how he kept the lines of communication open (emails) almost daily so I knew the status of the job. The overall job turned out BETTER than I ever expected. I would highly recommend Jason and Stone Vision to anyone looking for a landscaping contractor.

They fit us in to get the work done before the cold weather set in so my wife didn't have to look at the mud and the cement that had tilted due to a tree that had been in the next yard. They worked hard removing roots after removing the old cement, some of which were quite difficult, and large. They had to wait a couple days as the weather didn't cooperate, but installed the pavers and finished up very quickly. My wife is really plesed with the outcome., and we were glad we hired Stone Vision to do the work.

They were extremely polite and professional.  I would not hesitate to use them again!  They did exactly what they quoted on their estimate and did an outstanding job!

It was done quickly, professionally and completely on budget.  Jason took his time to go over what I wanted and what all my options were and worked with my limited budget. Both my patio and walkway look great. I'm so happy with their quality and service that I'm using them again in the spring!

Jason / Stone Vision were punctual and professional every step of the way, from estimating the job to clean-up each day. They took care to properly prepare the ground surface and then to slope the pavers properly so the water would flow appropriately away from the house and not puddle-up in spots.
