terrible. ruined my floors. had to have someone come in and repair his damage at a cost of $8000

We hired this company to refinish hardwood floors because of cupping issues. The owner assured us that this was a fixable problem. He also assured us we would not need to remove our trim and only recommended taping. This company was from a referral. The owner informed us (and I looked him up on the computer) he was licensed and bonded. He is not. The following is a list of the issues/concerns:
1) Equipment not properly adjusted and caused "waves" throughout entire main floor. Owner stated this was due to a problem with our joists. Several flooring companies confirmed that the damage was due to improper adjustment of the equipment that caused it to "skip" and left waves.
2) When the company came back to fix the problem, they left us with more problems. I chose a low-seen finish and after the second refinish, a semi-gloss was used (although I only signed off on a low-sheen). The crew also used two different colors on the floor. Excessive dust and debris in final coat.
3) Very unprofessional. Never on time & excessively late - consistently 3-4 hours late; on one occasion over 6 hours late. The crew left cigarette butts thrown on lawn. Stained newly finished garage floor (12" x 12").
4) Entire trim on main floor stained. Marks on walls.
We had to hire a new company to refinish the floors, a painter to repaint the entire main floor trim and several walls, and have the garage floor repaired. We were out of our house and at a hotel for a total of 20 days.
